hey i was here in either july or june and i forgot to write this so here's my review/experience for…read moreimpatient (i made this acc for this so you better read it) the good: . the food's basic but good and the nurses are cool. we played some fun games like family feud which brightened the mood a lot. . it seems pretty safe, people checked on us frequently, there are sensors everywhere . there were two people who were there long term? frozone guy and the other one after. the other guy made time for us to rest after dinner to calm down and after we'd reflect which was helpful to me. this dude and baldman deserve a seat at the talking table. . the staff acts friendly, it's homely. usually no one looks at you like you're some crazy person the bad: . we couldn't go outside and couldn't go to the gym -------- everyone was really sad about that esp since exercise is good for health . on my first night i had a panic attack and after i finally had calmed down (with the help of a sweet nurse) and everyone was trying to go to sleep, the guys who were supposed to check on us started complaining about residency and started making fun of me so uh i dont know why they chose to work in a mental hospital. . there were two people who were there long term? frozone guy and the other one after him. frozone said that women couldnt control their emotions and that men could. do with that what you will the takeaway: i could recommend this place for high risk people to keep them safe for the time being. reguardless of some people, most of the time the staff were great. also im still a little bitter bc i shouldn't have been there since i was gonna wait at least a week

i was put into inpatient care (ihp) about a year and a half ago. i was suicidal and doing horrible,…read moreand this place only made it worse. it stunted my healing journey by several months and even just finding this place to review it gave me a tightness in my chest. i was put into a 2 week long php program after my inpatient which was even worse. ashley was harsh, rude, and not very considerate towards mentally fragile teenagers. i distinctly recall innocently bringing gifts to my other php patients and i was called out and berated by them. seeing the items i attempted to give out as gifts even now make me upset and give me horrible flashbacks. i was under a lot of pressure, stress and felt as if i was walking on eggshells because there were so many rules i may break. i hated this place and every second i spent in it.

He hardly said anything again! At the end of the session, I asked how long he had been doing this type of work and he said 20 plus years. I thought to myself, well you have no clue what you are doing! I could do that job! You don't need a degree to sit and just listen! Mike Peter's has no business being in that profession! The staff at this location set all the expectations and processes were discussed regarding my child…read morebefore starting therapy. After starting therapy none of the information, expectations, or procedures discussed were implemented. It took 4-5 weeks to get any kind of traction with staff, emails, phone calls, meetings. 0 percent of expectations and procedures were being met; in addition to several severe injuries they had no idea had occurred nor could explain even though it is always meant to be one adult to one child. With all these problems and injuries they continued to push and push for my child to attend more hours with little to no regard for the child. We spoke to the regional director and asked for help with all this, requested a new person (BCBA) to take charge of my child's case or to move to a different center with someone else lead in my child's case, all requests were declined and once again they persisted my child needed to attend more hours or would be expelled from the program altogether. We have since pulled our child out. From our experience at this center, the conclusion is they do not care about the children.

I started going to my home away from home (empowering counseling one on one) in March 2020 and I was broken! I did not have any drive to continue on this task called life because I believed I wasn't able to. Every week was a struggle in my life. Every session I started to believe in myself and was I better in two weeks NO! However the tasks that I thought I could not do was becoming more easy to do! My attitude changed instead of walking around with my head down I walk around with pride and joy!
