I made an appointment with Bark 'N Biscuits for a face and feet touch up on our Goldendoodle. We're from out of town and this business had good reviews. We arrived and saw that it was actually a business called Muddy Paws, which was next door. I explained what we wanted done and the (very unfriendly) groomer said it would be about 25 minutes. I noticed the pricing on the whiteboard for their services and a trim was reasonable, but a bath and groom for our dog would have been well over $150, which is too high (especially for the quality!). We were notified in 30 minutes that she was ready. Disappointed, to say the least. Her feet were the only thing done correctly and her face looked horrible. Her ears were trimmed too short and a little trimmed under her eyes, and that's all I noticed. If it had cost any more I would have demanded more be done. Do not take your dog here. read more

DO YOUR RESEARCH. We thought we had, but we were wrong. We searched to find someone in the area who would groom cats. Our sweet Bella had Matting on her so we made an appointment at a local groomers to get her refreshed. Upon dropping her off, Kellie made a comment to the girl at thw front desk that we knew she was most likely going to look a bit wild. THIS was not what we expected nor was the comment an invitation to SHAVE HER... butcher her is more like it. Not only could a toddler do a better shave job, you shaved down to her BARE SKIN in numerous places. An appointment we expected to take three plus hours, you had done in 45 minutes. It is pure laziness and honestly just negligence! Our happy, go lucky, talks all day Bella, is now traumatized and cut up. You didn't even have the courtesy to call us FIRST and ask if this was what we wanted. Upon further research, we see this isn't the first time someone has had an issue with your laziness. Do your job! If you can't or don't want to, QUIT. But do NOT push your laziness onto innocent animals who can't defend themselves or speak up. I'm from out of town and needed to get my dog's nails trimmed. The hours posted online are not accurate. I showed up 3 times only to find the store closed. On the 4th attempt I made an appointment and was able to get the nail trim. I asked the employee why the hours were not accurate and ahead of told me there was no receptionist for some days so they couldn't be open.. based on the other reviews I can understand why Muddy Paws has trouble finding staff. The nail trim was fine, but the room still had hair everywhere from the previous dog and the general cleanliness of everything I saw throughout the store was not great either. Think twice before going here. On September 1st 2023, I went into this business, was greeted by a very friendly and informative male employee. I have been looking for a new groomer as our former dog groomer retired. My concerns in bringing in my dog, a 4 year old Bernese Mountain Dog to a new groomer were what type of liability waiver I was expected to sign and that I was looking for a groomer who would be patient with our dog as she likes to sit (a lot) while being groomed. Our dog wasn't thrilled with being blow dried after her bath, which is a common reaction by most dogs. Our dog has never nipped, bitten, or become aggressive with any former groomers that she had been to. In fact, our dog has never displayed any type of aggression toward anyone and will actually runaway from whatever or whoever scares or frightens her. The former groomer our dog went to regularly for over the last two plus years never once indicated, or told us that our dog had been aggressive toward her or anyone else while in their care. She stated that whoever grooms her in the future needed to be patient with our dog as likes to sit a lot and she would also need to wear a sleeve over her ears when being blow dried. The male employee printed off and gave me a copy odd the liability waiver. He also introduced me to a woman who I believe is the owner of Muddy Paws Pet Spa & Grooming. Both the male employee and the owner stated to me multiple times that groomer "Brittany" would be the perfect groomer for our dog as she's very patient with her clients. I set up a grooming date to occur two weeks later. Muddy Paws Pet Spa & Grooming texted me links to their online waiver to sign and their email address. I called Muddy Paws this morning (Monday) and spoke to the same gentleman I had spoken to 10 days prior to make sure I had their correct email address to give it to our vet. While speaking to him, I apologize for how long it took me to return the signed liability waiver (online) that they require new clients to sign prior to receiving services with their business. I stated I had asked a family member who is a lawyer to review it to make sure that there wasn't anything in the liability waiver I should be concerned with. They indicated that it was a standard liability waiver that most groomers use for their businesses and to go ahead and sign it. I signed the Muddy Paws Pet Spa & Grooming's online liability waiver, and sent it off. Not long after that, I received a call from the same male employee I had spoken to earlier that morning from Muddy Paws Pet Spa & Grooming informing me that they were going to be canceling my dogs grooming appointment because they did not like that I had a lawyer review their Liability Waiver. After some back and forth discussion where I was trying to get an understanding on their reasoning for canceling our grooming the narrative changed. Now, instead of them being uncomfortable or not liking me having a lawyer look over their liability waiver, they were know stating that Brittany, the groomer that they, the male employee and business owner recommended was now claiming she wasn't comfortable grooming my dog. Now keep in mind, no one at this grooming business has ever seen my dog let alone groomed my dog. They have absolutely no history or experience with my dog. but now they are claiming that they can't groom her or I should say "Brittany" is uncomfortable grooming her because she's concerned, something might happen? Basically they were backpedaling from not liking I had somebody look at their legally binding liability waiver all clients are made to sign before services are rendered, to the groomer was uncomfortable grooming my dog, a dog that she, Brittany had never personally seen, never met nor ever groomed before. Really?!?! This is how you decide to treat prospective clients seeking services at your business? You expect people to sign a legal document but you do not expect or want those perspective clients to possibly have your legal liability waiver looked at by someone in the legal profession? Shame on you! Shame on you for thinking you can treat people like this without being called out for it. If this is how you treat people, I have to wonder how the dogs who go to Muddy Paws Pet Spa & Grooming in south Fargo, ND are being treated when their owners are not around. This is shameful and the owner should be ashamed of themselves for conducting their business in such a manner. I would never recommend this grooming business or any business that requires you to sign their liability waiver and then refuse to provide you services because you had their waiver reviewed by someone in the legal profession. I have no issue with being refuse services, however the way they went about doing it and their reasoning for it? They used bad reasoning and to me that shows they have bad business ethics. read more

Muddy Paws !! The place to go. To my delight they offer not only traditional grooming they also have A "Do It Yourself" pet wash and grooming. WOW! I was met by a very friendly and helpful receptionist. She set me up at one of their five huge grooming stations. . Shampoo, conditioner, and towels were provided. Leash hooks, rubber mats were in all tubs, and a shower head with a gazillion water settings. And, of course, a temperature regulator for the water. My tub also had an insert that raised my cat up to a comfortable level so that I didn't have to stoop for the duration of the bath. Easy. For the drying I had two choices: The drying crates in the back of the reception area or to dry Katten myself. The drying room had two large raised platforms that were covered in astro-turf. The dryer hoses reminded me of a smaller version of the car vaccum hoses at a carwash. ;) You could cover a lot of dog with these. The air temperature from the hose was perfect for any animal. I did my minimal dry grooming here also. It couldn't have been easier. ALL this for a very reasonably fee. The "Muddy Paws" salon was extremely clean. I did not see any fur anywhere, not in the tub, on the floor, or in the corners. I Am Very Impressed!! read more

They claim it happened when my dogs walked on the concrete. I have never had that happen before taking them to other groomers. They did give me a refund, but that doesn't make up for the traumatic experience my dogs went through. read more

I was very hopeful about going to Muddy Paws, but I was sorely mistaken. I took my dog into get a grooming totally healthy. When I picked her up I noticed her eye was inflamed and asked them about it, all saying they had no idea what had happened. The eye got progressively worse, and I had to take my pet to the emergency vet. Long story short, she had developed a bacterial infection. After speaking with the vet about her getting groomed, he informed me it was most likely do to unclean equipment or an unsterile environment at muddy paws. I called Muddy Paws to inform them of the incident, and they could have cared less. Moral of the story: DO NOT GO TO THIS GROOMING FACILITY. Not only did I have to pay for an overpriced service, but a $400 vet bill as well do to their uncleanliness. read more

I'm beyond impressed with Muddy Paws!! This was the first time we've gone to Muddy Paws for grooming (previously took our pups to another groomer in Fargo), and the service, staff, and environment were above and beyond what we've experienced anywhere else. We met several groomers while there, and they welcomed our two Morkies like they were part of their family. The staff was so incredibly friendly (we have a super nervous 9 yr old Morkie, who shakes when he's not at home + a new 12 week old Morkie puppy), and we picked up both of them after a speedy full service groom with both of them smiling and calm! Their grooming was impeccable (so cute!), and they even had little holiday ties on! Muddy Paws has us as customers for life! THANK YOU to the entire staff for your friendliness, gentle care with our fur kids, and for such a wonderful overall experience! I'll be recommending Muddy Paws to everyone I know! read more
