Chill vibe. Very limited menu. The staff was friendly. This is a sit and chat coffeehouse. Very minimal and very clean. They also sell their coffee beans. And have merch.

The barista gave a hearty hello when my friend and I walked in. I had a seasonal (pumpkin) latte which was velvety and delicious. My friend purchased a bag of coffee for home because it smelled delicious! The interior is pretty simple... cozy space for catching up. There's a small lounge space in the back and also a patio which would be ideal for warm months. I will visit again.

Mudhouse Specialty Coffee Roasters is based in Charlottesville, but glad to see one open up in Richmond that I could stop by. The interior has exposed brick walls and checkered floors, and a spacious interior that has a lot of plushy seats for customers. They also have a wall of coffee merchandise like freshly roasted beans, Mudhouse printed mugs, and various coffee-making equipment. LAVENDER LEMON TONIC This is one of their seasonal drink options! I forgot how much this was, but I paid 8.59 after tax, which is expensive for what it is. The drink came in a 12 oz. cup that still had a good amount of ice even though I asked for less. The top was frothy and topped with a burnt lemon slice. The drink itself had a strong espresso flavor that paired well with the lavender and lemon syrups. The tonic was perfectly carbonated and not overly sweet. The drink combination was delightfully refreshing. Before leaving, I decided to buy a bag of beans to bring back. It came with an 8 oz. drip coffee of their house blend which was surprisingly pleasant (and I'm not normally a drip fan). Overall, glad to have tried Mudhouse and hope it opens a location near me.

I always profess that I'm a die hard coffee drinker except rainy days when I switch over to hot teas. Y'all proved me wrong. I tried the lavender lemon with a shot of expresso. I truly enjoyed the lavender & lemon taste and the expression gave me the rush I enjoy. Adding the expresso shot didn't overpower the taste and was quite refreshing. I added a slice of marble cake and it was truly scrumptious. The portion size was perfect. There is off street parking and the atmosphere is refreshing and relaxing. I enjoyed the staff explaining the various drinks and combos to me. Their sense of humor was also great! Grab a friend and be prepared to relax and recharge yourself... that's what I did.

I came to this place on my lunch break during work, then I brought my husband back the very next day because I loved the drink so much and had to have another. I've had an iced lavender latte and iced vanilla latte, and my husband had an iced coffee with vanilla cold foam - all delicious! The folks in the shop are super friendly and make great suggestions for drink additions. I love this place and will likely be a frequent visitor.

There are tons of coffee shops so why bother with this one? Well, because it is a gorgeous, cozy place to enjoy a delicious roast or a specialty beverage like the iced lavender latte. This is a great place to with a generous amount of seating both in the front and the back if the house. They are also getting a back patio ready to open very soon. I also bought coffee to take home. I asked them to grind it. After explaining my type of coffee maker the gentleman who ground my coffee explained that the number he wrote on the back is used to determine the best grind which can be adjusted based on my preference. Being that I know nothing about coffee other than drinking it, I appreciated the explanation. The staff working were very nice and explained what the different types of different drinks. They also have a few breakfast sandwiches, pastries, cake pops etc. I live thirty minutes away but I will absolutely be back on a nice quiet summer Sunday to read, relax, and enjoy coffee and a sandwich. I love this place!

Such a cute and cozy coffee shop. I got the rootbeer latte and it was delicious! Not too sweet and just the right amount of rootbeer flavor. I didn't catch his name but the guy working the counter was super friendly and engaged in conversation. There is plenty of seating including a back room down through the hallway which has beautiful art lining the walls.

I'm so excited that Mudhouse is finally open in Richmond! I love Charlottesville and all their local businesses. I was really excited when I learned they were coming to RVA. They started their soft opening on August 5. To be honest, it went so smoothly it feels like a normal open. Upon entering, I was warmly greeted by Will. He helped explain the menu options when I asked. I decided to order their honey lavender cold foam iced coffee. It was so delicious. I loved that the foam was made from oat milk. They had a super cute cup with their logo to use in the shop. I also got a chocolate croissant and salted caramel donut. Both were super tasty. This is a great place to get some work done or meet up with someone. I visited a friend here and she ordered the same drink as me and a tiramisu. She's a huge tiramisu fan and was obsessed with Mudhouse's. This place is so dairy-free inclusive. The tiramisu was made with oat milk too. We adored our orders and are already planning a day to return. Not only is the service and food good, but the vibe is stunning. The exposed brick and natural lighting are incredible. Any of your Yelp photos are bound to look amazing. They also have a stylish space in the back for when it gets busier. It looks like they're working on a patio space too. I'm so excited that this coffeeshop is finally open and has really yummy drink options. I highly recommend visiting.

Visiting Richmond and wanted to find a charming local coffee shop instead of a chain--and I'm so glad I did! The coffee was great, but the service truly stood out. The staff was incredibly kind, helpful, and full of great recommendations--I loved it so much that I came back at least three times to try something new. If you visit, definitely go for one of their seasonal drinks--you won't be disappointed! It's a perfect spot to meet up with friends or get some work done. Highly recommend!

Unfortunately, there wasn't even a changing table available. Instead, I was stopped and loudly reprimanded by a large, intimidating male employee in front of a line full of customers because I had apparently "used the wrong door" and "skipped the line." When I explained that I needed to use the restroom before ordering, I was told I should have used the other entrance -- despite the fact that the door I was directed toward had a clearly posted sign saying "Please Use Other Door." The entire interaction was humiliating and completely unnecessary. No customer, especially a mother carrying a baby, should be publicly shamed over something so minor and confusing. To make matters worse, the bathroom itself was filthy. Even if I had attempted to change my daughter on the floor due to the lack of a changing station, it would have felt unsanitary and unsafe. Businesses love to say they support women and families, but too often mothers are treated like an inconvenience the moment they actually need basic accommodation and decency.

It's definitely a local spot and there was a small line when we arrived around 9:30ish, but it moved relatively quickly and we ordered an oatmilk latte, brown sugar cardamom oatmilk latte, and vegan burrito. The weather was nice, so we found outdoor seating and our drinks/food came out within 10mins. Overall, not our favorite cup of coffee in the area - but still good and very-well priced! The burrito was yummy too - I'd definitely recommend if you're looking for a relaxed, no-fuss spot :)

They roast single origin coffees onsite and sell them in completely biodegradable pods, which only stay on their shelves for up to 30 days so the coffee always tastes super fresh. They are not like other biodegradable pods you may see for sale elsewhere, these actually ensure you get a fantastic cup of coffee each time. I started talking to the baristas, Lisa and Anastasia, and shared that I used to work for Starbucks and was amazed how the same coffee could taste completely different if it was prepared differently. Lisa promptly took out two bags of coffee and prepared a pour over of each. They were the same beans, but roasted at different temperatures. She gave tastes to me and another customer. It was amazing how different the coffees tasted, and they even had different colors. It was such a cool experience! I bought a box of Columbia medium roast pods, which I've been enjoying every day this week. They have several coffees available to try, along with pastries and made to order sandwiches. It's located in an industrial area, off the main road, but is well worth the trip if you're looking for some delicious coffee. It's become my go to coffee roaster in the Richmond area.

So much to love about this new discovery besides the fact that it's NOT a Starbucks lol and for those that know me, you know I love and love to support and discover tucked away indie coffee places (see my reviews!). This place is also a roastery and sells their own bean blends. I don't know the history behind the shop and name but was told it is chemistry themed and owned by W&M alum - yassssss! Service is SUPER friendly and excellent so that's a bonus! I lovvvvvvve that the latte menu is chock full of super creative seasonal flavors - so many to choose from!! I stopped by twice while in town and staying just down the street. Had a hot Rose Macaron latte and the next day had the Lemon Bar. Both were DELICIOUS. NOT OVERLY SWEET BUT WITH SUBTLE FLAVORS AND BOLD ESPRESSO TASTE. NOTTTTTT WIMPY WEAK. Both days I had the OG Bacon Egg Cheese sando on an ET bagel that was a decent accompaniment to my seasonal lattes which were clearly the stars of the show. I was there during the week - once mid afternoon, the other day late morning and it was not crowded at all both days. The seating area is HUGE. 2 separate adjacent rooms - walk through the front ordering area and you'll find a large, super cozy and inviting "living room" type space with comfy couches, armchairs, dining tables with chairs and even cubes for studying. Dark and moody vibes. SUPER COZY, RELAXING AND KEPT VERY CLEAN AND TIDY. The other seating area has a bunch of tables and chairs, lots of windows, brighter and more conducive for gathering. I took and posted a bunch of pics and some vids so check them out. So glad to have discovered this coffee spot and gem! Will definitely be back when I visit Williamsburg again! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
