Instead of offering options and working with the parent of a child who might be afraid to go to the dentist, she instead was telling me what to do and wouldn't listen. I've never been to a new dentist where cleaning was not included (I'll get to that later). I didn't even know that was an option. Why would you go there as a new patient and walk out without a cleaning? But lesson learned. In the future, I will ask if cleaning is included. My appointment is at 9:00 a.m. I arrive at 8:50 a.m., but the office is closed. Right at 9 a.m., two employees arrive, letting 4-5 other patients who are now waiting into the waiting room. They can't get into the office, so one of the guys jumps over the reception counter. It's now a few minutes after 9 a.m. As the time ticks on, the receptionist arrives at 9:15, fifteen minutes after the first scheduled patients. Then, a few other workers arrive, all well past 9:00 a.m. I finally got called back at 9:30 a.m., and they asked me why I was there; I told them I was a new patient and needed a cleaning. They take x-rays and tell me that the hygienist isn't scheduled that day and they can't do the cleaning. At that point, I just said okay and told them I was leaving.
