While the cosmetic bonding was meant to improve my smile, I am less happy with how it looks now than before. In my experience with one specific tooth, the material did not appear contoured flush to my tooth structure, leaving what felt like a noticeable overhanging margin. Because it did not feel properly sealed against the tooth, it created what felt like a constant trap for plaque and food, making it incredibly difficult to clean. Due to my concerns over potential gum irritation and the risk of decay under the material, I chose to visit a different dentist a few days later to have the bonding fixed and re-contoured. As shown in the attached photos, which I took just a few days after my initial appointment, the top of the bonding on this tooth was raised over my gum line and did not appear attached to my actual tooth structure. My photos demonstrate my experience clearly: I could easily slip dental floss directly behind the top front edge of the bonding because of this physical gap. Furthermore, the material feels excessively bulky in my mouth, and the final shapes of the teeth are aesthetically unappealing to me. I spent a significant amount of money here on cosmetic work. Ultimately, I am very unsatisfied and disappointed with these results. It is not only frustrating, but heartbreaking to invest so much money into a procedure only to feel unhappy with the outcome, and I truly wish I had gone elsewhere!

I've been going to Hyland Dental Care and seeing Dr. Hornyak for about 4 years now…read more Prior to going here I tried DeVor DDS and Cochran DDS in Lakewood and had issues with both offices/doctors. What originally brought me to Hyland was a second opinion/consultation on a wisdom tooth that had developed a bad cavity in it and needed to be pulled. The thing was: my wisdom teeth came in straight, had room and were functional. The only reason the one needed to be pulled was because of an unreachable cavity. The original prognosis from Cochran DDS was that I'd need oral surgery to have the tooth removed. But when visiting Hyland Dental Care they offered to have to extracted that day and the procedure went with zero issues. A few years later I had them remove the other top wisdom tooth with no problems. From a cost perspective Hyland is the most cost effective dental provider I've had. The other thing is the service is much better than I had at other dentist offices, the staff are always friendly and nice to talk to. Also they are always concerned about how you are feeling during an operation. Also I've had Hyland Dental do a root canal and two fillings for me. The root canal was originally a pulp capping that I had done there previously but the nerve died on its own a few years later. They were able to just drill through the existing crown , do the root canal and fill the crown. This saved me close to 400$ on my procedure because a new crown wasn't needed. Out of all of the procedures I've had done here, I've never once had a bad experience, felt any pain or had an appointment canceled on me (I've seen this mentioned by others in comments, just thought I'd mention). As long as this office is around I'll always come here for my dental needs.

The office will not fix It will not talk to me and is acting as if I doesn't matter. I even filed a complaint with the Ohio Dental Board when I called the Ohio Dental Board to see what the outcome was. They told me I wasn't privy to that information. After my second hospital visit where I had to get a blood transfusion and almost died, I called the Dental Board back and they said that I never made a complaint and they have no record of it. The problem is I do. I have all the emails. So warning if you go to the dentist and they do something to you if you try to get compensation, it is very hard. They either have to kill you or permanently disable you. I have been sick since January I am fighting for my life and I have no teeth in my front mouth. Please take this as a serious warning!!

The facility is clean and comfortable and they always have HGTV playing on the TV's which relaxes me a bit. Dr. Niki is nice and efficient. I don't feel like I've ever been pushed to do any unnecessary procedures and she is very thorough. All of the dental assistants have been very friendly and professional. They really talk you through the procedures and aren't annoyed if ever you need a break. I took off one star because I did have a billing problem once. At one point before the pandemic, I had to get a ton of fillings which were supposed to be sent to my insurance. Basically they quoted me incorrectly because my insurance had maxed out but I never knew the difference that I was supposed to pay out of pocket. After that, I continued to patron the place, playing for a teeth whitening 100% out of pocket and thinking that my account was all paid up. Just earlier this year when I went in for a cleaning I was told that I had a balance due because my insurance didn't cover all of those fillings from years ago. It was pretty frustrating because I was never contacted or sent a bill. Luckily, we were able to resolve it and I was offered a discounted payoff amount, which I appreciated because it was an error on their part and could have been dealt with a long time ago. Their new billing manager Kelse went over the entire bill with me more than once and I eventually understood/was satisfied with her explanation of things.
