I have been going to Muffen's International Salon , for over 10 years. The salon has a very relaxing atmosphere , and is very modern. Muffin's is very professional, and has deep knowledge about hair and it's condition. Sharon Comma is the WORST stylist .and dismissive. She knows NOTHING about haircare. Matter of fact, she made all of my beautiful, healthy hair fall out, and I am suing her. She's also overpriced, and her services aren't worth a penny. Save your money, and your hair. Go elsewhere loves. read more

Good customer service, it was our first visit and like most urban salons paint would dry faster than you actually get finished. The shop was very clean and well put together especially if you like purple. Easy to find, very intimate, easy parking, and food places all around. Next day review. It was a rushed job, frontal did not look customized at all ( a beginner could have done better), very generic hairline/ 1 size fits all. I wasn't asked how i liked the way it sat on my head / nor shown how it looked during the process only at the end. I reached out to Monique and tried to get it taken out (which would cost more $$ )and she was not flexible, $350 cash wasted and all this was the day after. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN MY ENTIRE LIFE/HAIR DISCRIMINATION/ARROGANT/SNUBBY STYLIST. I brought a friend of mine to Muffen's in Stoughton after a friend recommended this place. This friend made an appointment for us at Muffen's. I was hesitant to bring my friend there considering I had to drive to Stoughton from Burlington, MA - a 45 mins drive one way. On our way to Muffen's Salon, I called and asked to speak to Muffen herself. Muffen answered the phone herself. Let me just say she was rude on the phone and acted like she didn't care about our business. (Who knows maybe she's got risen to the top ranks and has enough business already.) She was aware we were coming from far. I had y infant son with me. Upon arriving at her salon, the first words she uttered were "NO CHILDREN ALLOWED AT MY SALON" I was beyond astonished. I felt like crying. She knew we drove 45 mins to get to her place, but she didn't care. We got there only to arrive at her place and be spoken to in that manner. (Let me not even mention how fatigued I was from the driving and from just being a married mother with a household to look after.) I told her I wasn't getting my hair done - my friend was. Therefore, I would have control of my infant child who does not even walk. I told her my child doesn't walk and will not be a disruption to her activities. He would be in my arms all through. Right there and then we were shocked by her greeting. What a way to welcome new customers into your salon. How about that for customer service. She coldly told us to have a sit. We waited one good hour before my friend was called to have her hair washed. At some point, I went into the bathroom to change my son's diaper. Muffen had the nerves to knock on the bathroom door, and then opened it (even though I did not give her permission to) to tell me that if my child was noisy/crying, and if he continued I would have to get out of her salon. I was again beyond shock. Being the Christian lady that I am, I took a deep breath and told myself this woman is trying to push my buttons and I WILL NOT LET HER SUCCEED IN DOING SO. I'LL KEEP MY COOL UNTIL THE VERY END. AND I WILL SHOW MUFFEN WHO IS MORE EDUCATED, SMARTER AND RESPECTABLE. Who on earth knocks on a bathroom door in use to tell that person they would have to take their child out for changing their diaper? I'm not sure what she had with us but she treated us like second class citizens. Then we waited another hour before I asked Muffen when she anticipated to start my friend's hair. She came up with all kinds of excuses about having to wait until later because my friend is getting a weave and she would have to do all the other's first before starting my friend's hair. There were several women who came after us but left before us. Mind you that we were given an appointment. I told Muffen she should have at least begun my friend's hair even if it meant taking others in between but at least she could have started the corn rows rather than make me, my friend and my child wait around like second class citizens. Even just the mere fact that I had a baby with me should have made her realize that she needed to stick to the appointment she gave us or at least stick close to the time she scheduled us for. THIS WOMAN MUST BE BARREN OR DEPRESSED OR PROBABLY DOESN'T LOVE HER CHILDREN IF SHE HAS ANY. SHE WAS INSENSITIVE, RUDE AND PROVOCATIVE. U COULD TELL SHE WANTED TO START A FIGHT BUT WE WERE GOING TO PROVE TO HER we were more educated, self-controlled AND MORE MATURE THAN SHE IS. Muffen must have been having a bad day or discriminated on my friend's hair texture because she had so much roots. Something must have ticked her off. And even so, in the retail business, you have to leave your baggage behind rather than put everyone through what you are going through. We were not the cause of whatever issues she was facing that day so she should not have taken it out on us for some minute reasons she saw in us such as me having a child with me or my friend's hair not looking right for her. I will not recommend Muffen's international salon to anyone. She was a bitch that day in every sense of the word - heartless, cold, arrogant, condescending, snubby, bitchy. Maybe she thinks she's risen to the highest level and doesn't care about building any more clientele but her downfall will soon come if she continues in this attitude of disrespecting new clients and treating them like second class citzens - for that is how we felt. We left her salon without giving her the business and I'm sure she did not care because she doesn't need our business for she thinks she's the best of the best but that will not last for long with her kind of attitude. WHAT A SHAME TO DISCRIMINATE AGAINST YOUR OWN PEOPLE. THAT IS THE REASON SHE IS IN THE BUSINESS: TO MAKE STRAIGHT HAIR. THEREFORE IF SOMEONE COMES INTO HER SALON WITH NAPPY LOOKING HAIR OR SO MUCH ROOTS, SHE SHOULD HAPPILY RELAX THE HAIR. read more

WORST SALON ON THE SOUTH SHORE!!!! This salon hasn't been in Stoughton for very long. It's hard to find a good black hair salon on the south shore, so I was very pleased to try this one since Muffen had a good rep from her previous location in Dorchester, but to my surprise, I HATED IT. The salon is tiny, the owner, Muffen is a royal BITCH. She is so rude and really makes her clients feel like she couldn't care less about them. Customer Service is not her style, ghetto fabulous is more like her. If you want to take a trip all the way to Stoughton and fight for parking just to go to this tight little hair salon and sit there for 6 hours for a wash and set knock yourself out. By the way, there's no price list, so God only knows how much she'll charge you. A touch up for me was $100, while she quoted another lady who was getting the exact same thing $55. My appointment was at 1:00 I left her shop at 8:00pm. If you are a woman with a busy lifestyle consider finding yourself another place to get your hair done with less drama. I've been to Muffen's 3 times, and saw her yell at clients for eating a snack in her shop after being there for most of the day starving, a woman was waiting for her friend with a baby and she pretty much asked them to leave, not to mention her poor assistant, he does most of the work and gets absolutely no respect. STAY AWAY, go to Angels in Avon, the women there are so much more professional and do hair way better. read more
