I had good service in the past based on word of mouth which is why we kept going. There was a young salesman who was great. Their current office need better organization. The website is non-functioning and has been in development for years. No replies to the email on their website. Their location is tough to reach for us but calling is hit/miss as no one in charge is ever available. We have to wait for a return call that may not come. To be sure we'd be seen we made an appointment but at the appointed time the salesman had no idea why we were there and we went home. That was a 3 hour waste of time. There was no followup explanation until I called to complain and THEN they apologized for the confusion and blaming the doctor although that was never mentioned at the appointment. We were told to call the doctor during the phone call but this was not mentioned during the appointment and we were not called with this advice. It only came when I called to complain. read more

In today's Amazon two-day delivery world, visiting a retail store can feel unnecessary. Amazon may also offer a promise of "next day" delivery. Tap a few times and stuff magically appears at your home. We placed a next day order for a "red and white foldable mobility cane" this afternoon. While I'm hopeful Amazon delivers tomorrow, I know how easily delivery can be delayed. Eager to obtain a tool to increase mobility, I rang a few durable medical equipment companies in the area. If you're ever in a similar pinch, I *highly* recommend Mufson Medical Supply in Smithtown. They know their stuff and are wonderful. An affable man by the name of Mark answered the phone promptly, immediately recognized the type of product we were searching for and offered to confirm stock availability by visiting their supply area. (I was not forced, for example, to explain the difference between a telescopic cane - to aide with balance - versus a mobility cane for the visually impaired.) Stepping into their store a family owned and operated restaurant. Where the owner might also be the chef, and his niece the maître d'. A place to stop in, share some pleasantries and leave feeling refreshed. (The employees have worked together for some time and communicate with each other using endearing terms. Patricia refers to Mark as her first work husband, Roy as her second. A younger employee is their "offspring".) I arrived during the peak of the evening commute, parking in the dedicated lot and stepped inside. Roy, a lovely gentleman responsible for hearing products and services, greeted me like a long lost grand daughter. (He was so cute that I wanted to reach up and hug him.) With only a few words hanging in the air, Mark multi-tasked (without interrupting an ongoing conversation) and picked up the very mobility cane we had discussed.("Here it is!") Mark had thoughtfully left it up front for me! Waived over to complete payment, I had the joy of meeting Patricia. If I ever write a book, she will be in it. Patricia is unforgettable in the best way possible. If you ever have the good fortune to meet her, she is 'The Queen'. When I left, I briefly contemplated asking for a group selfie...but that felt inappropriate. A visit to Mufson should be at the top of your list. Five stars all the way! read more

One should be very careful in doing business with Mufson. I went into the store in Smithtown to get measured for compression sleeves for both legs due to Lymphedema. I was evaluated by Patricia who was very enthusiastic and assured me that she would contact me to let me know what options she could locate in compression garments such as Sigvaris which is the maker she was pushing. I never received any follow-up communication from this business once they discovered the product was not available in my leg size, not even to offer any guidance. As a result, I went to All Pro in Patchogue where a truly professional and caring person named Christina guided me to the appropriate product despite the fact that All Pro didn't carry Circaid Juxtalite compression products or anything else in my size. I ended up getting the appropriate compression wrap from a third party. The takeaway is that All Pro has had all of my follow-up business and I will continue to recommend friends to these caring, helpful people. They are recognize that this is a people business and not solely about the money. Mufson, on the other hand, needs to realize that communication is a critical part of working with patients in this very important area. The key point is that I should have received a call back to inform me of the status of this product as Patricia had promised. This was a very disappointing experience, but I hope this experience will help enlighten others. If you have a choice, go to All Pro in Patchogue and observe professionalism the way it should be demonstrated. read more

Mufson Medical Supply Co. Is a very unique and special place. After going there for the first time today I have to say I don't want to go anywhere else. The quality of care I received was second to none. The staff is so warm and gracious and I felt so valued as a customer. Mark greeted me in such a warm way and wanted to do all he could to help. He was respectful and kind. Pam stepped in to help and she and I immediately bonded. She was so sympathetic, caring and truly of great support. What makes a person very special is compassion and Pam exhibited so much of that during the process of helping me. She is a special lady. They both extended themselves to make sure everything was set up perfectly. This is a wonderful office that provides many different products but in addition to the great quality items they sell I can't say enough about Pam and Mark who spent time to make sure I was completely serviced to the highest degree. Would never return. Besides the service here being the worst I have ever experienced (every time I walk in there are no other customers to be seen, yet I must stand around for at least five minutes before someone comes to help me) the employees are rude and condescending. I got rotator cuff surgery and I went with a script for my sling. I received a sling much too large for my arm and when I asked, the employee told me that it was indeed the right size and the size small wasn't much different. I brought that sling with me to my final doctors appointment before the surgery and she said it was way too large; that my arm would move around too much and I needed to go back to get a different size. I returned and the same employee (who I believe is the owner) ordered me a new one, but not while complaining that it wouldn't be much different than the current one and I would see for myself when it came. Well it did and it was vastly different. This one was nice and snug and kept my arm secure. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and splurge on the ice machine the owner said would be helpful for my rehabilitation. I was quoted a price of $150 for two weeks by him but when I placed my order over the phone I was told by a rude woman that I was mistaken and the machine costed $200 for two weeks. After arguing with her, I finally got the original price quoted. My daughter picked up the machine, which was given to her in a broken cardboard box and only given the general piece, not one specific for a shoulder (as the bag showed the different shapes for different body parts) it was also missing a shield to be placed in between the body and the device. First off, the "general" body piece did in no way fit on my moms shoulder and ended up around her neck as well. Second, the cold in the device caused condensation and ended up soaking through my dressing. The direction pamphlet said to apply THE shield to the body before the device, not A shield. I tried explaining that to them over the phone when I called to tell them I was missing a piece but they told me that I had everything and shields of any sort were not given. After much frustration over the weekend I decided to just bring the damn machine back. The owner was condescending and rudely implied that I must have been using it wrong and then kept asking me "what I wanted". My money back, obviously. I ended up paying $50 for a machine I didn't even use and that was him being "generous". The whole ordeal was just a headache and I would gladly drive anywhere else to avoid this dump. read more

Let me start by saying I am generally a reasonable person. This company took over Continued Care. That was the company that I called to get oxygen supplies for my husband last May (2018). We received the supplies and had no problem with billing, treatment, etc through the entire 6 months we stayed at home in New York. We left for Florida for a few months in November 2018. At that time Continued Care picked up their equipment, told me to call when we returned and he would received the equipment again. While in Florida he, of course, ended up with a different company as my husband once again needed the services of an oxygen company. Upon our return to New York in April of 2019 (mind you my husband was ill the entire trip back - we drive - and his oxygen never went over 80), Landauer Martin had taken over Continued Care. Here's where the trouble starts. Since it had been 6 months prior that my husband received supplies from the last company, we had to treat him as if he were new to the service. I had to call them several times even though his doctor's office had faxed all necessary paperwork to receive oxygen supplies. I was told over and over that they didn't receive it even though the doctor's office had (and showed me) confirmations of faxes. After 4 days of this I was then told by the person I had been dealing with the entire time that she wasn't the person I should be speaking to. Her name is Regina. Then, a different customer service rep informed me they don't accept faxes anymore and that the doctor had to go through a portal, start an account with them, and do a tutorial. I don't know about everyone else has doctor's but my husband's are pretty busy. This was done out of empathy for his condition. Clearly this company has none. Needless to say I will never use their services nor recommend their services to anyone. Hence the one star rating. read more

I really wish I could give this place 0 stars. They habe literally some of the worst customer service I've EVER dealt with. I was given the run around when trying to obtain a medical brace - I was hung up on etc. I get that my medical needs may not be your priority but waiting 5 + days just to find out if you can order the product I need is ridiculous.
