My primary doctor made me feel like it was super aggressive and we needed to move quickly. Then for weeks ... Silence. Your mind is your worst enemy. Things didn't move very fast. Well it took over a month to the get answers. Dr Barker explained everything and took the time to make sure I understood it all. He was very knowledgeable and helped ease my mind tremendously. Once I saw him things started moving rapidly. I was getting treatment less than a week later. Only been to a few treatments so far. His staff is very friendly and helpful with all my questions. Not that I would want anyone to go here!!!! But on the rare chance you need to I would recommend him.

Scheduling people are rude and know nothing about insurance even though they will lie and tell you they do. They will schedule partial appointments, leave you on hold for hours, don't hang up or you start again. It doesn't seem like the actual office knows or cares how they are chasing off your business. Although it saved my brother's life, he is still on after care…read morefor metastatic prostate cancer with tumor removal from spine which left him with paralysis, neuropathy and forever immunotherapy. He also was diagnosed with Candida, he was treated and tested negative for it but is kept on isolation protocol in which he can't enter the building without being gowned up and kept away from everyone. I am not allowed as caregiver (or anyone else) to attend him on visits. He must wait outside in the weather until he can be gowned up. Therefore, our only access is phone calls. Is it protocol for his meds to be discontinued without consulting him and preparing him ahead of time and not offering a lesser medication. His pain narcotics have all been discontinued with no pain replacement. Is it protocol to call in for a refill and not receive a call back even if it is to say the medication has been discontinued? Is it protocol to not have a patient advocate that we know of? Is it protocol to not be able to get a refill for Prednisone which is a required supplement to be taken with his Abariterone for testosterone inhibition?

Staff at the information counter was very nice and helpful. MRI area was nice and clean. Staff was friendly. Got in and out fairly quickly. Only drawback, is there is NO patient or client parking. The one parking lot in the back is for staff only and the door that faces the parking lot is only accessible by access badge. Park back there and you have to walk around to the street front entry. They did have free valet parking for patients, but that parking is across the street, several on the street itself. The young woman parking and retrieving the vehicles looked college age, with a TCU shirt on, being so young that was concerning for me, I didn't feel comfortable with someone parking my expensive vehicle on a street or in a tight parking lot. Outside of not having a parking lot, the experience was really good.

Amazing staff and processes…read more My wife comes here every other month for an infusion. We've been coming here for these for about 2 years now. I have to say that everyone, from the security staff as you walk in, to the intake staff upstairs to the clinicians once you been called to have your infusion. Everyone has always had a cheery disposition and have been most helpful. Thank you Moncrief Cancer Center for such compassionate staff and great processes.

I can't speak well enough of this center and the staff. I was treated by Dr Duer bout 15 years ago…read morefor spinal cancer and had a great outcome. I developed cervical cancer about a year ago. My gino said I couldn't go back to him, I needed to go to the Center for cancer and blood disorders. What a mistake. I was put on a treadmill of treatment and after a year, was told I needed to be on kemo for the rest of my life. At that point, I said I wanted a second option and called Dr Duer. He saw me right away, found a study that was done at Balor Medical, (not an option I was given st the center ), and got me into treatment right away. The office also found me assistance from several charity places to help pay any out of pocket. The center never even said this may be alvalble. The only bad thing I can say, and it's not bad per say, is that Dr Duer takes a Lot of time with his people, so if you don't get an early apt. Be prepared to wait. Bring a book or tablet. Lab apts are quick as are kemo apts. This is the best care in the area and I can't say good enough good things about this office and staff. Leslie Cranston

The entrance/lobby area is quite attractive and comfortable. The lady at the front desk was extremely friendly, accepted my insurance and was a joy to speak to. The doctor that saw me (Dr Patel) was very knowledgeable and had an awesome personality. The interior was extremely clean and needless to say I am very happy that I chose this place to visit for my injury (and will go back there again if need be).

This place has the rudest nurse's, you would think they would have more thoughtfull personality…read more There could be more comfort giving to the patients. No care for the person with them supporting them. "The patients" It is clear these nurse's all in the field for money only. No care, no personality, it is just push them through and get them out. It is sad... As if people where not humans. Disabled people should not come here, because you will be treated rudely. Cancer patients should be cared for in a loving way not as a pay check like these nurse's act.

I was scheduling a new patient appointment with a doctor referral. I had to be transferred 4 times…read moreto the correct department which took 30 minutes over the phone. I got a call from someone in their office a week later asking for paperwork. I attempted to call the number back and had to go through the entire chain again in order to get to that person. I fortunately found out I no longer needed to go in and I called their office to cancel. I spoke with one person and gave her all of my information, she told me that she would cancel my appointment and I was good to go....except she never canceled my appointment and I got an email the following Monday asking me to confirm my appointment. I clicked cancel on the email, but wanted to make sure it actually got canceled, so I called them back to confirm. It took 2 admins and 15 mins on the phone for someone to send a message to the correct office asking them to cancel. I never got to see a doctor however I feel the 1 star is necessary in order to express how awful their admins are set up.

Dr Oommen had ordered a PET scan for me. When I arrived for my appointment, I had questions about…read morethe scan and the surgery he had coordinated with an Oncologist Surgeon. When I started to ask questions he became agitated. Advised me to ask my PCP. I explained I was confused. As the ordering Oncologist I thought he would be professional enough to explain and answer questions. Quite the contrary. When I challenged his response he became agitated and refused to see me again. He sent in the Office Manager. She said they would have to schedule 45 minutes for each patient if we all wanted to ask questions. That the 15 minute appointments were what are scheduled. No. I have not returned. Apparently at this location quantity over quality....or at least compassion wins out.
