Per my insurance company, it is on the same tab in Availity - Providers- TriWest; when you submit the referrals (as the provider). Only a referral was made and PT requires both. So now it still needs to be submitted but now they are saying my PCP needs to. This was the same way in east region (now west for Texas) so I don't know why this is like a new thing to them with authorizations. They worked me into rehab in the meantime which is nice; when I called they wouldn't do that without charging me per visit out of pocket. There is a limit to how many deliveries can be taken each month which is great! The last doctor that delivered mine was overbooked and always so rushed, but not Dr Maas. I've never had any type of cosmetic surgery, so I was extremely nervous. Dr. Rumalla and his team quickly put my fears to rest. Every visit he was patient, attentive, and answered all of my "off the wall" questions. Lol I never felt rushed or disregarded, ever. The day of surgery (for my mommy makeover) the team at Harris Methodist all told me how blessed I was and that in Dr. Rumalla's care I could expect nothing less than greatness! Doc came in the morning of surgery, we chopped it up and I was instantly calm when he walked in the room. He came to see me when I woke up, and came BACK to the hospital that evening because he wanted to walk with me on my first post-op stroll...wow! With the ortho follow up a full week later, it would be 3 weeks until I could learn if I needed surgery. All the while burning sick leave and vacation at work. So I called scheduling and tried to find an earlier date. The scheduler said they had a spot in Ft Worth today at 2:15. It was now 9:30 am, that office is at least a 2 hour drive, I said heck yeah sign me up! The scheduler said they would send me a text with the address and confirmation. I left just before noon....not wanting to be late and waste their time. BUT, i had not received the text. So I called the number while I was on my way 817-289-2002. Spoke to another very nice person. I let her know I had not received the confirmation text like they said I would, so I wanted to call and confirm the appointment and location....after all it was a 2 hour drive...... The scheduler was perplexed why I did not get the text but... joyously confirmed my appointment was good to go! She also let me know my part to pay was also $222. I said ok and kept driving. I arrived at 2:00 for the 2:15 appointment. Again, not wanting to waste anyone's time. I go into the office and let the clerk know Im there for my 2:15 appointment. I could tell she wasn't finding anything, so I added, its really at 2:30 but I came in early for the paperwork. The clerk said 'sir your appointment isn't for today because we have nobody here who can do it .' You had an appointment for the 27th and then the 21st, but it is not today. They know we don't have anyone here on Fridays to do the GAD.... She then says 'Are you sure you called the right place?' I showed her the number I called, and she looked perplexed....and said well thats our scheduling number.. I call the scheduler while Im standing there at the window. She once again confirms my appointment is for today..... but needs to check on things and puts me on hold. The phone rings right inside the window to the girls I was talking to...... Lots of Umhmmm, Umhmm....Uhmmm. Then girl number 2 says Did you call our scheduler.....I said yes Im on hold with here now......She then says OH she just called and asked us to reschedule you....... Can you come back monday????? What in the shit show is going on at this place? Talk about amateur hour. She shared that the Vitamin C would burn for a couple of minutes and my arm would be sore so be sure to massage the arm throughout the day. You can choose which arm(s) to have the wellness injections. I appreciated the information on what to expect for the shots. The injections were quick and the Vitamin C burning sensation went away after a couple of minutes. The soreness/tenderness takes about a day or so, however it may take less time if you remember to massage throughout the day. I like that there's a place nearby where I can get wellness injections for an affordable price. The front desk ladies and Vanessa were sweet and added to the peaceful atmosphere at the office. I was scared and came very close to backing out of the surgery. Dr. Burroughs took the time to talk with me, acknowledge my fears, and reassure me that if I followed the plan and procedures he laid out, I could be successful. I even told him, "Just don't turn me into a scarecrow," and he promised me he wouldn't. Choosing to go through with the surgery has honestly been one of the greatest decisions I have ever made. My blood pressure has gone down, I went from being pre-diabetic to not even being close to diabetic, and I no longer need my CPAP machine for sleep apnea. Over the years, I eventually hit a stall and regained 30 pounds. I had thought about the revision, but a lot of insurances will not cover it or would require a lengthy explanation as to why it is needed. I have no comorbidities outside of the BMI. UB made this process so effortless, and they offered so much ease. Through my employer, we have Lantern. I was shocked by what they offered; they paid for the whole procedure, including my hospital stay, and they gave me a debit card to cover additional expenses after the surgery. Dr. Jay Roberts and his team are exceptional! The wonderful ladies at the front desk are such a delight, and the medical staff are so positive and friendly.
