This place has the rudest nurse's, you would think they would have more thoughtfull personality. There could be more comfort giving to the patients. No care for the person with them supporting them. "The patients" It is clear these nurse's all in the field for money only. No care, no personality, it is just push them through and get them out. It is sad... As if people where not humans. Disabled people should not come here, because you will be treated rudely. Cancer patients should be cared for in a loving way not as a pay check like these nurse's act. read more

I was scheduling a new patient appointment with a doctor referral. I had to be transferred 4 times to the correct department which took 30 minutes over the phone. I got a call from someone in their office a week later asking for paperwork. I attempted to call the number back and had to go through the entire chain again in order to get to that person. I fortunately found out I no longer needed to go in and I called their office to cancel. I spoke with one person and gave her all of my information, she told me that she would cancel my appointment and I was good to go....except she never canceled my appointment and I got an email the following Monday asking me to confirm my appointment. I clicked cancel on the email, but wanted to make sure it actually got canceled, so I called them back to confirm. It took 2 admins and 15 mins on the phone for someone to send a message to the correct office asking them to cancel. I never got to see a doctor however I feel the 1 star is necessary in order to express how awful their admins are set up. read more

This place made me pay upfront for my radiation treatments - what my insurance didn't cover- ok fine. They kept turning in wrong codes to insurance over and over again before finally getting it right only to do the same thing the next day. Sent me several bills, of which my upfront payment already covered. I asked for detailed billing, in person and over the phone several times and all they sent was more bills or a past due notice, no detailed billing. Over 6 months now and they still have not turned in my credit of payment to my insurance company or billed me correctly. I don't know what these billing people are doing, but they sure aren't doing their job! EVERY WEEK for over 5 months I've spent several hours in person or on the phone trying to get them to straighten my records and bills out with no luck. Also need them to correctly turn my credit of payment into my insurance company since I already met me out of pocket but it's not showing it. Would like to add, they seem to have billed my insurance for more treatments than I actually had. Totally fed up with this place and incompetent "financial" billing staff members! read more

Many wonderful nurses and supporting staff. Kind and attentive. Reception staff is amazing as well and they care and are helpful. The reason behind why people are here is usually pretty sad so it's very helpful when you are met with kindness. read more

First I would like to say the receptionist is great. Always positive with a smile. On the other hand. This isn't the first time I have been treated unfairly. The financial advisor will definitely judge you based off looks and color. They refused service unless I pay for 5 visits in advance. Why advance I have no clue. I spoke with others who are also getting iron with higher copay. They have not had my same experience. Lacee called me at 9am screaming as to why she must cancel my visit if I don't pay upfront for all 5 infusions. I also spoke with Shamee and Justin her supervisor. I was pulled into a little office with them both not sure why as I was singled out. Justin just sat at at the end gave me a perky little im sorry about your experience. Once I reachex the infusion section wasn't greeted so I walked to the counter and gave my name. From there it was a pleasant visit. I love being under their care. Dr. Costa and his staff are so incredibly helpful and sincere in their care. The infusion team is wonderful as well; if it was not for Susan, Michelle, Melissa, Anthony and Amberly I don't know how I would have made it through emotionally and mentally. The facility is very neat, clean, well kept and the atmosphere is very pleasant even when you are not feeling good. When I come I don't feel like a patient I feel like family. The ladies in the scheduling department Roxanne and Nancy do all they can to work with your scheduling needs. Especially me I always have something that come up and need to change my appointments. I would definitely recommend them to family and friends needing their type of care. 11/28/16 Today I was a little disappointed with the new girl. I'm all for allowing people to do their job and giving the benefit of the doubt. What I dislike is when you show your not confident in what your doing... she tried to start an IV on me and failed twice. She had to ask Michelle to do the IV because she was not getting it. Too big of a practice now to respond or assist families and the patient in need. Have left 3 messages and spoke to the office but the new patient scheduler has never called with the 48 hour window they told us they would call in. Going on two weeks now. Just keep leading our family along and therefore the patient is unable to get answers or additional information for her back and spine doctor; which he needs to assist in her pain management. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing in this practice - feel like just a number not a person. read more

I have been a Cancer patient at Texas Oncology Flower Mound for a year. Most of the staff is very helpful from the front desk, to the schedulers, the pharmacy, and the lab techs that draw your blood, and the nurses in the Infusion room. there is ONE nurse in particular that is assigned to my Oncologist. she is RUDE, dismissive, and just plain nasty. When I send MY Oncologist message through their message system she always answers them, mind you that they are NOT sent to her. I want to hear from MY DOCTOR, NOT HER. And she is just not rude to me, she is rude to everyone that works around her, the schedulers, the other the techs that draw my blood. She has "scolded" me for sending my doctor messages about how my treatments are going, the original dose of chemo was way to high and basically fried my body. She just sent me a snarky response about an issue that I had with my Pet scan results that could have been brought to my attention 6 months ago but were not for whatever reason and she was very very snarky once again. Mind you she did not go back to the prior 6 months and read those Pet Scan notes, so now I will be dealing with another, potential Cancer issue in the making. She needs to find another career, she is NOT nurse material and should be no where near patients. I tried to bring this up with my PA that works for my Oncologist and he didn't want to hear anything about it. Ignoring it will not resolve them problem. As a Cancer patient we deserve respect, compassion, and someone needs to listen and do something when there is a complaint about a member of their medical team. GD read more

I am a patient of Texas Oncology Flower Mound, and while I love my Oncologist and her Team, I have recently been getting not- so helpful, not so-caring, very dismissive representatives over the phone whenever I call. I wish my doctor has a direct line, but she does not. I am battling Stage 4 cancer, diagnosed just this year, so every day is like a race with time for me - a little kindness, empathy, and sincerity (and Urgency whenever needed!) are highly appreciated from people who were SUPPOSED TO CARE for me, even if these people are "just" on the phones. It makes me sadder and more worried IF I am even in the hands of the right people. What cancer patients go through is not a walk in the park, and talking to uncaring, dismissive nurses or operators/ customer service associates do not help us. There was even one phone operator today (10-06-21) whom, when I called, was just so ready to hang up - she was not willing to listen and was so ready to put the phone down. I want to tell them this : We feel your lack of sincerity, especially now that we are going through a very difficult time. We are sensitive. Yes. But we need your help, that is why we call you. I firmly believe that if you aren't willing to at least "sound" helpful at the minimum, then you should work somewhere else where empathy is not required. Please do not be unkind. read more

We have been very, very pleased with Dr. D'Spain and Texas Oncology. My father's previous doctor had written him off since he was in his mid 80s, he was told he had a short time to live. After switching to Dr. D'Spain, my father is now into his 90s and Dr. D'Spain's treatment regiment has kept him healthy and strong. We love Dr.D'Spain and the friendly, and efficient staff at Texas Oncology! read more

I love my doctor, but the wait time on certain occasions is absurd. I go here to see a hematologist for a blood disorder, so I go through the lab and then on to see the doctor. My last visit I waited 25 minutes for the lab, then 45 to see the doctor. I understand with the type of care being offered, sometimes things fall behind, but still, waiting that long almost every time gets old. read more

This location used to be very good. (I am talking about nurses and support staff). I think it has changed ownership or something, and now the support is awful. They don't return phone calls and dont coordinate with the insurance properly. Either lack of training of dont care attitude seems to be the mode. All the staff and nurses that were there a year or so ago are all gone. read more

I have been a long time patient of Texas Oncology and recently switched locations. The Frisco location was outstanding from appointment scheduling, lab draws, very caring doctor etc etc. I decided to switch to the Flower Mound location because it was closer to my home and my experience was completely different. When I tried to schedule my appt I got an automated message which I left a message on and then had to call back a week later and leave another message before someone called me back to schedule my first appt. Once I finally got in I was literally in the office visit with the doctor between 10-15 minutes. He didn't or couldn't pull my old records from my other doctor at the other Texas Oncology office. I then receive a bill for almost 400 dollars which I called to dispute because at the other location I was never charged anything close to this amt. The financial representative was supposed to get back to me and hasn't. I have left two messages with no call back. I am very frustrated with this office and will not return or recommend. Not sure what level office visit they charged but I definitely feel like I am being over charged for the service that was provided and it is nearly impossible to get a hold of someone at this location. I have been with Texas Oncology since 1991. I know sometimes I have had to wait; but I also remember when I was in the hospital for nearly four months my Dr. always answered the call to help me in my darkest time. So when I go to my Dr.'s appointment I don't complain about waiting because I remember how many times they interrupted him at work to help me and Dr. Costa always ran to the phone. The treatment nurses even came to the hospital to check on me. They are amazing people. I also know that had not Dr. Costa searched day after day looking for an answer to my problem when I was in the hospital I would not be here today. I thank God for bringing him into my life and all the nurses; who had to deal with all my reaction issues; starting and stoping over and over, always with a smile. So when you are waiting and wondering why it's taking so long, remember in this line of work there is another person relying on your Dr. to help them in their time of need. When you go home from work your off; when they leave the work office they head then to the hospital to make rounds and make decisions.
