Getting here is a bit convoluted, but GPS works well navigating the old neighborhoods. The library is also located at a bus stop that is well used. This particular library branch has both a poor reputation and ratings, mainly due to the homeless, but I have never seen any while here - and I've spent a lot of time here since moving to Lakeland. This library is incredibly clean, including the bathrooms. The librarians who work here have been very polite and helpful. They have a fantastic inter-library loan system, like larger cities, so I've not had a problem acquiring books. The system is quite quick. They not only loan books, but dvds and music cds as well and have a large display of them inside. They have a large shelf in the front selling discarded books. They have a large section for children, down a beautiful mural covered hallway. I have not checked that out, but from the proliferation of young families coming here, it's quite popular. There are also conference rooms, and from following them on Facebook, they have a lot going on here. It's easy for me to spend time at this library. The coffee house, Black & Brew, has a satellite cafe here and the library has a gorgeous rose garden all around it.

Our phone took us the back way to get to the library so we parked thinking we were at an entrance but it was just a side door so I blame that on my phone. Once we entered, it was very quiet and they had computers to access their catalog and using it was a breeze. Even finding the book was easy! I was in and out within 5 minutes. Self check-out was about the fastest I have ever experienced for a library and I was VERY impressed. We passed by a couple of staff and none seemed too friendly but we got what we needed and left so that wasn't a big deal. They even had a quiet room where you're in closed quarters and can be in peace which we thought was cool. I will be back for sure!

When you go in through the entrance there is a coffee shop on the left and then they have a used bookstore which was where we were headed. The actual library is through another set of doors to the right. We spent quite a bit of time in the bookstore going through the wide selection of used books they had available. I found one book on the racks they had out in front of it and then stumbled across three more I wanted while inside. All four of the books I bought happened to be Stephen King novels but they had a lot of other good choices. My kids picked up a couple of books for gifts as well while we were there. The people working the store were very friendly and helpful.

The WiFi is excellent here, and rarely slows down, making it a great place to work. The employees, however, are hit or miss... with some of my favorites coming from the younger ones. Also, the men's restroom door is somewhat damages and the bathroom could use some cleaning. The photos of sunsets are no joke, as the nearby pier and park both make for some absurdly beautiful sunsets and sunrises.

I LOVE this library! My son is homeschooling, so we decided to get a library card for him. I saw…read morethat this location had a "children's room" which is perfect for sitting down and reading to your kids, studying the globes, using the computers they provide for educational programs and so much more, without having to worry about your kids being "too loud." We went to this location just for him, and enjoyed the entire visit! My son and I felt really safe because there was a deputy stationed at the entrance right when you walk in. We will be trying to visit once a week now that we've discovered this location! We would love to see more hands on educational material, (like the globes) because we don't own things like that at home, and it gave us an opportunity to learn about the different continents in 3D instead of flat on a map! Lastly, they had little free craft envelopes and we were able to grab one on our way out, which I thought was AWESOME! My son really enjoyed making his butterfly!

One of my favorite places near my home.  I am here every few days picking up or dropping off books…read moreand DVDs.  I was so happy when the county built this beautiful library in Seffner.   Close enough for me to ride my bike and a rack is provided near the door.  Inside there are three self checkout stations which make it very easy to get in and out quick.  Use the online system and you receive an email when your requested items are ready.  So convenient.  We pay for this service in our taxes and I don't understand why more people don't use the library.  I've been a library user since I was a child and encourage everyone to visit, check out a book, and READ!  Seffner friends of the library group holds quarterly sales of used books and wow you can get great deals.  Getting a library card is easy.  Just take a piece of mail with your address and your ID to the librarian and complete the form.

They also have plenty events for children. They have a snack and "break area". This location also stays later than most in the Riverview, Brandon, Apollo Beach area. They have multiple rooms that we frequently use for my neighborhood homeowners associate meetings. We have used the Art Studio for a meeting. It has local art (also throughout the entire library) and children art. When using that room it's long tables with various type of chairs and obviously, paint supplies off to the side but out the way when it comes to meeting time. We have also used the Community Room. This meeting room has a divider to adjust for small and large groups. This room has a more professional setting and the space to rearrange if need be. My only complaint is for the entire Hillsborough County Library. When reserving a room, you will never speak with an employee. The process is pretty inconvenient. You call and leave a voicemail, and they'll contact you back in the order of all their voicemails. If they can not hear your number you left in the voicemail clearly, you will not get a call back. The turn around time is usually within a week. There is also an email process.

Granted they do have little tablets with earphones which I thought was neat! They also have a children's section like all libraries, and a teeny tiny play area. It's nice, just not separated from the rest of the library/sectioned off well enough for parents wanting to sit a while and read to their kids/do activities without disturbing anyone. They have a little nature-y area outside with a swing and benches which I thought was super cute. They also have laptops you can sign out and regular desktop computers as well. It's a great place to come for study, and to check out books- but if you want a library with a designated children's room, check out the Mango location!
