Ole lady and I came here on a drive by from Nebraska to Chi-Chi... This is how a restaurant is supposed to be / to operate. I am a professional at critiqueing places of eating & drinking. This place was completely professional from start to finish.. For realz... from the doorman/valet, to the hostess, to the bartenders/servers, to the maiter d, everything was completely on point. The atmosphere is clean, beautiful, bright & lively. I particularly love floor to ceiling windows where you can look outside, sip a nice cocktail, and watch the world go by... (see my review of "High Hat" in Nola baby for reference...) And now; on with the yelp review: the food & drink were simply exquisite. I had the meatloaf; ole gurl had a salad. special highlights to the bone marrow app which was delish!!! My highest & strongest possible yelp review.

Stayed at the hotel for work and came here for dinner / drinks. Service was great and so was the food! We shared a couple of apps: chicken livers, peach burrata salad, and garlic Brie cheese. The chicken livers were so delicious - love the sauce they came in. The squeezable garlic clove that came with the creamy Brie was perfect. For my main, i got the seared salmon. It was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right with salt & pepper. Drinks were also really solid, but the espresso martini was batched and a bit too sweet for my liking. Either way - solid tasty spot in Des Moines. It was packed for a Monday night!

Loved this meal from start to finish. Gorgeous atmosphere; top notch service and execution by Connor, my server and the bartender. Delicious Korean meatballs, pork chop that was cooked to perfection and complemented by crisp wedge fries, a decadent creamed spinach, and a chimichurri aioli that was as delicious on the spuds as it was on the pork. The dessert?! I was stuffed and asked to take it home, but I ended up devouring this perfectly baked (yes, baked) cheesecake. Connor was the icing on the cake. Awesome to chat with, fascinating mixologist, kind to every single person with whom he interacted. Class act.

Cool building & nice dining room. Had reservations & sat immediately. Drinks were good. I had a non alcoholic passion fruit drink & it was good. I had a Caesar salad & ricotta gnuki. Salad was good but gnuki amazing! Delicious sauce with mushrooms & the risotto gnudi which is like gnocchi. Was good. Wish I'd had a slice of bread to sop up that sauce. Hubby's 1/2 chicken was tender & flavorful. The white bean sauce was a nice accompaniment. Friends loved the short ribs. Others enjoyed the grilled meatloaf & salmon. Waiter was friendly. Nice place!

We recently visited the Mulberry Street Tavern as a date night before our kids came home for spring break. We made reservations for 6:30. My wife and I split the New York Strip, which was very good. There is a $10 split plate charge. We ordered the Smoked Gouda Mac & Cheese for a side, which we couldn't finish. The house wine was good. Overall, it was a pleasant date night in a new spot. I would go there again.

This burger was A+. Juicy, fresh, delicious, and balanced. Overall a great dish. The cessation sale was also good, fresh and great cheese on top. The restaurant was slow for lunch and a great place to work remote since it wasn't a busy spot. I bet it's great for dinner. They were short staffed but very polite and honest about it. Overall a great place and the burger is worth stopping in for !

4.25* (out of 5) Food: 5* Atmosphere: 5* Value: 3* Service: 4* 03/02/2024 This place has been on my Want to Go list for a while and we got a chance to go when friends from Lake Geneva were visiting. We had reservations, parked in a nearby parking ramp and were impressed with the exterior of the building as we walked up to it (see pictures). The unique decor continued once inside (see picture of the blinged-out racoon near the welcome desk) and we were immediately seated at a table with a nice street view (see picture). We started with drinks and an order of Brussel Sprouts (see picture) - they were smothered in a rich sauce and tasted heavenly. My wife and I decided to splurge, but weren't that hungry - so shared a Ribeye (see picture). It was cooked to perfection as we ordered it (medium rare) and was tender and flavorful. Our friends ordered the Hanger Steak (see picture) and Smoked Mushroom (see picture) and they said they loved them and would recommend both. We did take a look at the Dessert Menu (see picture) and while several of them looked fantastic, we were just too full to order dessert. The menu was a bit above average price-wise and if you've read my reviews, I really struggle with the 3% 'cc recovery fee' which they also add (hey, handling cash isn't free and can shrink) - so can't go above a 3 on Value. Atmosphere: Mulberry has a laid back but exudes luxury. It feels like an exclusive dinning experience. Service: The service was great. My server made the best recommendations for food and mocktails. Food: I tried the French Onion Soup, Rosemary Fries, and the Half Chicken. Everything was delicious with great flavor. The skin on the chicken had a nice little crisp which elevated the flavor. Pricing: The pricing was above average but not too bad. Location: Mulberry Street Tavern is a hidden gem located inside the Surety Hotel. Parking is not the best but there is street parking and nearby parking garages.

This beautiful restaurant is attached to the Surety Hotel in downtown Des Moines. Bar seating, indoor and courtyard seating are dining options. The menu offers a variety of dishes with unique sauces. My mouth was watering just reading the menu, but let me tell you , when your waiter asks if you'd like to hear their recommendations you say YES! Andrae offered his top three and I'm glad he did because although the salmon was my choice, the mention of pasta made in house with risotto changed my mind. I ordered the short rib pappardelle and it was delicious. So much meat and the flavorings of the risotto and cheese sprinkles was perfection. Each bite literally melts in your mouth. The serving was so generous Andrae packed up half for leftovers. My husband had the smash burger- two burgers with heaping condiments in a potato bun. The accompanying French fries were so light and flavorful- perfect amount of salt and frying. I enjoyed a very nice white wine and my husband chose from a nice selection of draught beers. A perfect date night dinner in an elegant setting, with friendly and attentive service and outstanding meals- MST for the win!

Great service. Food was attempting to be something it was not. Salmon was good. Steak was pretty mid. Price tag matched the plating but not the taste.

If I could change anything, I would get the sauce on the side. It was a bit overpowering but did not ruin the dish. I felt that the dish was seasoned well on its own. The mini lavey was *fine*. I got the gnocchi, but I feel like the grated cheese on top didn't really go with the pasta. Other than that, it was good, but it's just not really my type. I'd probably skip this one. Since I didn't eat much of it, I got the kids' Alfredo pasta. WOW. Chef's kiss! That was the best Alfredo I've ever had. So cheesy and saucy--definitely a MUST. We were given a complimentary bread which is not pictured in my photos. For the most part the bread was already warm and not freshly made. It didn't come with butter but olive, cheese and chili flakes were provided at the table. That bread was a 2/5 given the texture and flavor. Even the way it might've been cooked could improve. The Zelda alcoholic drink was sweet and tangy. I'd recommend it if you're up for it. Bruschetta appetizer kind of disappointed us. Bread was a little overcooked and didn't have much flavor. It came with the cheese, tomatoes and onions. I'd say try a different appetizer instead. Entrees were hot when they came out. Chicken saltimbocca could be best described as rich in flavor. Had a savory chicken and a strong white wine taste to it. The fettuccine Alfredo was cheesy. Ricotta gnocchi had a strong tomato flavor to it. I enjoyed the added cheese to the gnocchi. This was cooked very well and the portion size was big I couldn't finish it. Lastly, The dessert hazelnut brownie tiramisu was cold when served. Easy to put the spoon into. Strong hazelnut flavor and great mascarpone. The bottom half has the brownie part to it. It did have some nuts at the top. The server checked on us enough but not to the point where it was overwhelming. Again they could improve on their beginner bread and bruschetta bread.

My wife started with a Smoked Margarita (see picture) and I opted for the El Chapo (see picture) - both were delicious.
