In contrast, our white friends were served with smiles, conversation, and full attention. The difference in service felt too obvious to ignore--and it felt racially motivated. What's even more concerning is that after sharing my experience with a few of Kayla's coworkers, they admitted this isn't the first time she's provided less-than-stellar service. That kind of behavior, especially when it appears to follow a pattern, shouldn't be tolerated in any professional environment. I truly hope the management at Rendezvous takes this seriously. Every guest deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their race or background.
