I love this bar with my entire soul. I'm here every week just for the vibes and music. Not only is the staff great, but the regulars are also so fun to be around. I don't usually drink because I drive my group here, and I have never felt like I was being annoying or obnoxious for asking the bartenders for water several times a night. The few times I have had drinks here, they were solid. Nothing super interesting or craft, but I don't want that at this bar-- beer and frozen margaritas are definitely the move, and they do those well. I love love love love this establishment. I visited Rendezvous in Sherman on Thursday and, unfortunately, had a very uncomfortable experience. I was the only Hispanic person at the bar, and the bartender, Kayla, treated me noticeably differently than the white guests around us. She was cold, dismissive, and barely acknowledged me, while offering warm, friendly service to others. A friend of mine, who is also Hispanic, received the same dismissive treatment. In contrast, our white friends were served with smiles, conversation, and full attention. The difference in service felt too obvious to ignore--and it felt racially motivated. What's even more concerning is that after sharing my experience with a few of Kayla's coworkers, they admitted this isn't the first time she's provided less-than-stellar service. That kind of behavior, especially when it appears to follow a pattern, shouldn't be tolerated in any professional environment. I truly hope the management at Rendezvous takes this seriously. Sunday night and slow and just wanted a few drinks and to watch the game. I'm not gonna beg for a drink so after standing at the bar for almost 10 minutes clearly needing service I had to leave and hit Cellerman's. It obvious that if you're not a regular you're not a priority to the staff. Beer was great, served in ice cold glass. They have NFL Sunday Ticket so if your not a Cowboys fan you can watch your team every week. Food was ok - pizza crust could use some work. People were nice - even to 49er fans :) read more

(Some) great bartenders. Been a patron for a year and they've had issues with managment treating the bar like a frat house. New managment is no different. They abide by their own rules. Visit Cellarman's across the street instead. Better food and cheaper drinks. I did the math. Take it from a local who was blindsided by a new hire on a power trip and management that felt they benefited from a low education new staff that thought they run the show. Me, My girlfriend, and some friends all went out to drink here. My girlfriend and her friend went to the bathroom and a group of girls starting banging on the door and yelling at them to hurry up. They came out and waited again to go undisturbed. When they were able to go back in the group of girls started banging again and yelling obscenities through the door. This is when my girlfriend called me to come get them because she felt they were going to beat them up once they came out so I did I got past the rowdy bunch and knocked on the door and they came out and we walked away. This is when the bouncer came up to us and asked me to leave because I was causing a scene and from what the group of girls told him I was trying to get into the women's restroom. My girlfriend explained to him what was happening and he didn't care to kick them out as well as me. Makes sense. Bouncer wasn't rude in any way I guess just doing his job but the groups of people that frequent here are not people I would want to drink around again. read more

Came a few weeks ago for their taco Tuesday. I was dismayed to hear that the only options were chicken or beef. The man getting my tables drinks over heard me say that I'm vegetarian, and came back after a few minutes saying that he asked, and they could make them with mushrooms if I wanted. At first I was blown away by the service, but after the tacos came I was really blown away by the sauce. Been back every week since. read more

When I was back home for Christmas, I went to the Rendezvous Club. This little place is really nice. Bar with pool table and several TV's to watch sports. Really nice to sit and relax and have a drink. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was due to only one pool table. But, everyone is courteous and friendly and no problem waiting on your turn to play pool. read more

Wow! What a great place! In town for a demo project, I stopped in and instantly felt welcome! Bartender Jake was welcoming and informative; even offered me a sample of his creation "Vou Sauce" which was fantastic. The crowd is a regular one however very friendly. Five minutes in, a regular bought me a shot. Regular guest Lisa endured my gregarious personality, suggesting items from the menu and suggestions on local restaurants. I walked up in this joint tonight and was treated like family. It was as if these people had known me for years. They served me wonderful tasty tacos and ice cold beer. Engaged me in stimulating conversation that only took a hiatus to listen to some of the most amazing live acoustic music I have ever witnessed. I will definitely come back a second time. The food! Terrible experience! While the parking is mediocre on a typical weekday night, once you walk in the door all hell breaks loose! The drinks are pretty pricy at $6 not to mention my jack n coke was flat thanks to a non working soda machine! I also pulled 2 pieces of hair from my whiskey as I'm guessing they haven't serviced the ice machine in a few years! The food? WTF? The food at Taco Bell would beat this any day! $8 for some lame beef tacos that had to be made from Walmart purchased beef and lettuce that came from the month old crate out back. How bout some tunes to see if we can't get this place rocking?!? The jukebox is rigged while you put $2in, the hungry DJ hippo eats it (will someone give this thing an hunger update?) and your SOL while being stuck with pathetic 80's dance music that drives a lot of the patrons nuts after a long day in the fish tank and were not talking cool swift new order or tears for fears, it's middle school dance music that only a tab drinking guidance counselor admires while most if the kids would rather be pimping and jumping to p. diddly and the uncle Julio gang! It also plays the same songs over and over in the same hour. Out of the 1 million plus songs in the system, I think it only knows 10 and died out back in '85!
