She then said they need to cancel my appointment bc they don't take same day insurance coverage...? Told them it's not same day . My appointment was scheduled for 08/04 - asked her not cancel my appointment and I will email her my card. I then emailed my card. Got a call on 08/03 asking to cancel my appointment bc they couldn't verify coverage... asked if they accepted my new insurance she said yes but they couldn't identify me....? Mind you I sent the exact card to her? She then asked me to verify everything which I did. She said my dob wrong... but claims that's not why they couldn't verify and told me to call my insurance. Spoke to my insurance and they verified im active and everything is correct... called them back on 08/03 at 4:45... google says they close at 5. The appointment was at 4pm, I received a call at 1:50pm asking to reschedule AGAIN! Mind you this would be the 2nd time rescheduling because of them, this time I'm overly upset because I traveled 6 hours to bring her here FOR NO REASON! The person who called to inform me seemed to have no empathy for my frustration, seemed like he couldn't care less. He gave me a recommend office that does not even accept Medicaid, and I would have to do an "introduction appointment " to that office so she wouldn't even get the cleaning that her original appointment was for. The unfortunate part of using Medicaid with healthcare is that in return they treat you like you're not important! It's already hard enough finding an office that accepts Medicaid, then I do and it's just not it. To reschedule someone twice is outrageous, to not have a care that you're having to reschedule someone is something that bothers me. Unfortunately when using Medicaid you're treated like a number and not a person. Then dentist offices wonder why children's teeth are terrible, it's because we CANT get them help. I just moved to NC, I called 10 offices to get my daughter seen which none accepted Medicaid. This office was 45 minutes from me, that's how far out I had to look just to get my daughter seen. I called in early September to make an appointment for my 3 kids and they were solidly booked for 4 weeks so the earliest we could get in was the end of the month. My husband and have our first appts in the end of November so I may update the review, then, if needed. (Yes, for new adult patients they are booked out for 90 days.) We were told to text when we arrived and wait in our car. We had arrived 5 minutes early and received a text to come in just a few minutes after the hour. The hygienists were so patient and friendly, they made all 3 of my children feel very comfortable! Dr Helmer came in at the end and was very thorough in explaining everything he was doing and giving me any feedback and tips as well as things to expect with their age and dental changes. He was very personable and made a strong effort to get to know my family and I. At the end of the visit, the kids were given a token and got to go to the toy machine to insert it and win a prize. Let me start by saying that I suffer from severe dental PTSD. I needed a root canal on an upper…read moremolar, and was referred by my regular dentist to see Dr. Cottle at Clayton Endodontics. Dr. Cottle took the time to explain everything very thoroughly, answer any and all questions that I had, and really put my dental stress at ease. But, more importantly, when I had the root canal done, I can honestly say that it was the least stressful procedure that I've had done at a dental office in over 40 years. The instruments that he used were extremely quiet, he didn't rush through anything or make me feel like I was keeping him from his next patient, and I just felt like he had some of the gentlest hands while he was doing all of the work. I literally started dozing off a couple of times in the chair, and that was with no nitrous. Although no dental experience that I've ever had has been enjoyable, this one was easily the least unpleasant. Oh, and even though they don't take dental insurance, they filled out the reimbursement forms for my insurer and submitted them for me while I was there. Recommend highly!!
