I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was far beyond what should ever be considered acceptable in a professional veterinary setting. My wife brought our dogs in this morning for routine vaccinations, expecting a standard, respectful visit. Instead, she was met with an unprofessional and dismissive attitude from Dr. Troy Smith. When discussing our dog's condition and long-term care, he reportedly responded in a sarcastic and flippant manner, saying "that won't be long," which is completely inappropriate given the seriousness of the situation. What's more concerning is that my wife had to request a different veterinarian multiple times before her concerns were taken seriously. No client should have to advocate that hard just to feel comfortable during a medical appointment for their pet. Even after being asked to step away, Dr. Smith re-entered the room later in the visit. When my wife politely asked him to leave due to the discomfort already caused, he reportedly laughed and dismissed the situation under the guise of "trying to apologize." That kind of response only made matters worse and showed a lack of awareness and professionalism. We've been clients of this clinic for years, and while the service has often been underwhelming, today's experience crossed a line. Veterinary care requires not just medical competence, but empathy, communication, and respect--especially when discussing serious or lifelong conditions. Unfortunately, this visit has caused us to reconsider continuing care at this clinic. read more

The staff and vets are amazing, and recognize us. I like that it's a walk-in clinic. A lot of people gripe about waiting for hours, but I don't mind. It means if my dog's having a problem, I can get her seen that day. Their prices are reasonable. It's the only place I'll take my dog! read more

My husband had to have a lung transplant, therefore, we did not know when he would get the call to come to the hospital. Mulvane Animal Clinic said to call any day, anytime and they would find room for our dog. It was on a Saturday that we got the call, they took her in and she stayed there for 3 weeks. All of our pets go to there and they love the staff. I won't go any place else! read more

Came in on June 26th for an exam on my cat. However due to the nature of my cats needs the Dr and I decided our best options are doing a test for cancer. I was emotional and he said we didn't do anything today so don't worry about paying. Just go and call us back to schedule that exam. So by my surprise I get a text saying I have an outstanding balance of hundreds of dollars. I then call thinking this is a mistake only to be greeted by a very rude receptionist who laughed when I said "this must be a mistake." and went on to state that I die owe the full balance even though I was there less than 5 minutes. It's so sad when a good Dr's work will be overshadowed by rude and unprofessional front office employees. Next step will be to contact Kansas consumer protection agencies. read more

What a rip off! We paid $250 at this place only for them to tell us our dog needs emergency surgery TODAY but they can't do it and we'll have to find another veterinarian. I can understand charging a new patient fee, and of course I understand charging for an x-ray, but charging us for a whole exam when all you did was palpate his abdomen? Ridiculous! We go back to this location today to get our dog her shots and walk out with a $300 bill. $218 of that just for shots and a nail trim. But $85 to walk in the door. Be prepared to wait hours to see a vet. They are walk-in only and do not take appointments unless it is a surgery of some kind. When my dog was sick and I took her in, I was told it would be a 4.5 hour wait. The next time I came in was just to get my cat's nails trimmed, so I assumed the wait would be much shorter since this could be done by a vet tech and she wouldn't have to see an actual doctor. However they said the wait would still be around 2.5 hours! So unless you are fine with sitting in your car for hours at a time, I would pursue different options read more

They answer all my questions and they have helped me keep my babies healthy!! They work to save me money, and when they have done surgery, they called right afterwards to let me know how it went!! I had to take my dog there after she was attacked by another dog. There were so many other dog there she couldn't get the individual care she would have gotten at any other vet. I know it was an emergency but now my dog is traumatized and can't even see her normal vet without being sedated. I will never take my dog or recommend this place to anyone read more

We've been taking our pets to Mulvane Animal Clinic for 17 years. They have always been extremely helpful, compassionate, and great with our animals. Many years ago when we had our cat, Jayhawk neutered, we came to pick him up, the office staff let my then 4 year old daughter go back and get him from the kennel. They all in fun changed his name to "Willie" on the outside of the kennel and she laughed, loving every minute of the staff making a connection with her. Although we have many vet options on the West side of Wichita, we continue to drive 40 minutes one way for our animals to be seen at Mulvane Animal Clinic. I absolutely love Mulvane Animal Clinic theyre patient, informative and always find a solution. However, it's unfortunate that the receptionist (Michelle) is rude and unprofessional. Going to the vet in general is typically not for fun, there's usually an unfortunate event that has lead to this destination. One would think that the one that greets you would be warm, kind and IF ANYTHING, NICE. I understand that everyone has bad days, but it seems everytime we are greeted with an attitude, eye rolls and mumbling. This has happened on multiple occasions and definitely not what i'd want my customers to remember of my business. Sadly, due to your receptionist consistent behavior I will not be returning and we've been coming here for over 3 years. read more

I highly recommend Mulvane Animal Clinic for their good ol fashion service. I've been using them for 15 years and my parents used them before that. The only issue is that I've had to wait hours to get in.... in fact, this happens no matter what time I come in. I think they need to expand or they're going to start losing customers. I thought it would be such a pain switching from our previous clinic since Mulvane is a walk in only but we got there early Saturday before they opened and they were able to get us in fairly quickly and everyone is nice and efficient. Great place. They've taken care of at least 12 pets in my family over the years. The only thing I wish they did was accept "Care Credit".

I have two birddogs, and anyone who knows birddogs, knows they are frequently sick or injured because they run big. Well, about a year ago today one of my dogs became very ill; lethargic, anorexic, sensitive in his hind quarter and spine, and knuckling his toes. We went to one vet in Wichita, then two specialty vets in KC, and then finally to Mulvane Animal Clinic on recommendation from a colleague. Dr. Smith ran some basic, conservative testing and asked a lot of questions. Then, he decided to take an x-ray on a hunch that something might have been wrong with my dog's spine. Well, he was right. My dog had a grass awn embedded right near his spine. This is uncommon and difficult to diagnose. But Dr. Smith got it right when no one else could. After a 60-day cycle of the right antibiotics, the dogs body walled off the grass awn and killed the infection. It's been 9 months and the dog has not relapsed. We live in KC now, but the next time something like this happens, I will gladly drive to Mulvane for care! read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE! Took my cat in for a neuter. When I picked him up the next day he was covered in his own urine and feces. They said, "oh he must've just done that". Over the next week my very young, healthy, playful kitty became so ill with infection that he had to be hospitalized for days. My daughter has been crying non stop that her baby might not make it. He has to be on a feeding tube and IV meds. If this vet clinic had any sliver of integrity or passion for their work they NEVER would have allowed this! What kind of vet hands you your pet covered in feces?! Wow you took suuuuch great care of my baby. Now he's literally dying and my children are heartbroken. read more
