Despite providing the delivery directions three separate times over the phone, the flowers were delivered to X XXXXX Heron instead of X Night XXXXX XXXXXXXX. As a result, the arrangement had to be located and retrieved late at night, which was both stressful and inconvenient. In addition, the quality and appearance of the arrangement did not reflect what I ordered or paid for. I ordered (and paid for) what should have been the floral equivalent of a Michelin five-star experience, but what was delivered looked more like a basic Golden Corral "buffet" arrangement, far below the premium arrangement that was advertised and expected. read more

The best experience ever! My brother was getting engaged and things happened where he couldn't picked up the flowers without hesitation the owner said she would drop them off. worst floral arrangement I ever received. the arrangement looked like flowers were just stuck in a vase with no rhyme or reason then two big purple stems stuck in. They were much taller than the rest of the rest of the flower's. In the vase. Ugly. The main flowers were dead and stems rotting by Monday morning after being delivered late Friday afternoon. The two pink carnations were turning brown. i have had carnations last two weeks or more In the past from other florist. These were brown by Monday afternoon. The filler green flowers were very short stemmed and not reaching the water which was less than an inch from the top of the vase. all this made me believe they were using up any left over flowers they had left in the shop before they closed for the weekend. I was very disappointed. Informed my son who sent them to me and dumped all but 4 stems in the trash. What a waste of mone. read more

Wow! This business went above and beyond! When we were in Hilton Head for Mother's Day, our sons sent me flowers through and 800 number. Unfortunately I never received the flowers. We don't really know what happened to them and we couldn't find out who the 800 company gave the order to!! I called Mums The Word , by compete chance and I believe the owner answered. I'm sorry I didn't get her name, because she was lovely. I explained what had happened and she thought my name was familiar, but it being Monday morning after the holiday, she was up to her elbows in stuff going on. She promised to research and call me back. A few hours later she did. Her records indicated they'd been delivered. She offered to redo the order, which I think was tremendously generous. Absolutely awful customer service! Flower petals all over the counter in less than 12 hours from delivery. When I called to talk to someone about it, they were going to pick up the old flowers and deliver a new arrangement.... 4 days later, several phone calls and still waiting! We ordered a large floral bouquet. When it arrived it was nothing like the picture or description given on 1-800-Flowers.com. Mums the word fulfilled the order. I have used 1-800 before and have never had an issue. I am adding to this review now the following day. I put a 1* review and contacted 1-800 flowers to advise of delivery. No calls from florist or 1-800 no texts or emails BUT today a 2nd floral delivery arrived. Larger than the first. Still not the same but at least at least an effort. I do not know who to thank though. Was it the 1* or the complaint to 1-800 flowers that caused the second delivery? read more

Failed to deliver on time for Mother's Day, then offered a "discount" of 20% to deliver the day after! Stay away! Ordered flowers via their website for Mother's Day, nothing was delivered. They called back on Monday to say that a "computer glitch" prevented my order from being processed and was there anything they could do after the fact. I asked for my money back and something to be sent to my disappointed mother. "Oh, we can't send anything for free," the woman on the phone told me. So, they can mess up the order and make me and my family feel terrible, but they can't do the right thing after the fact. Never again with this place. read more

Mums the Word has the best flowers on the island!! They have supper fun classes and I love doing them with the nice instructor Dorothy, it's amazing that they carry Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, there are so many decorations to buy, I just want them all!! I would definitely recommend for all sorts of arrangements, small to big, one of my favorites is the one that looks like a dog! So fun read more

Received flowers as a gift from a friend. Sent a picture thanking her and she immediately called to say that the floral arrangement was not what she ordered online; the size was 1/3 smaller than her order. The flowers were limp and half dead and arrived a day after she had arranged for delivery. Mum's the Word resent the exact same arrangement but the flowers were fresh. The delivery man's attitude was appalling. Blaming the recipient for not being happy with the first delivery of half dead flowers. The front desk attendant's at the hotel all agreed that the buyer should get their money back since the flowers in the first delivery were half dead and the picture of what was ordered was not what was delivered. For me, dealing with the staff of Mum's the Word is a positive and pleasant experience. When it was time to get flowers for my son's wedding, there was going to be only one florist for us. We were ecstatic with the flowers because Julie made great suggestions for our choices and followed through exactly with our wishes. My Mother's Day flowers were perfect and have been for the years I have dealt with Mum's, so no sure what anyone could complain about. Wow. Where do I begin. I ordered a $65.00 arrangement to be delivered the following day for a co-worker's birthday. I specifically put in the instructions that the office opens at 9am and for these to be delivered as early as possible. Come 1pm, no delivery. I called and was told they don't START their deliveries until 1pm. I asked why no one bothered to call me because if they had, I would have picked them up myself to ensure my co-worker received them before she left work for the day. I received no answer. Nothing. I was told the owner would call me the next day to discuss. I told them to go ahead and deliver them to the office and I would personally take them to my co-worker after work as she would not be in the office when they were delivered. When I returned to the office after lunch, the flowers were there. And I was shocked. I would not have paid $30 for this arrangement. It was tiny, not as advertised. Full of carnations, only 3 roses. One open lily and too many "fillers". What a rip off. We will never again use this company. read more
