They alerted me to potential problems I had with my skeletal and nervous systems --- I fell 30 ft in 1990, and my spinal column was fused at L1 After 35 yrs of no problems with my back but with no real understanding of what the stresses I placed myself in over those years with my chosen employment (both construction and commercial driving) could do long term, it was obvious I need to do something to stop further deterioration of my spinal column --- plus, I had the stress of suffering a minor myocardial infarction in 2019, and an A-Fib in 2014, adding to the urgency of treatment. Dr Wilson was not in my insurance network, and although the x-rays taken during my visit were exceptional, and very convincing of my problems, I decided to chose a provider IN my network and closer to home (NC) I chose the Huffman Family Chiropractic Clinic based on the exceptionally positive reviews in my insurance network (UHC), and I have been pleased every since. I was assigned to Dr Douglas Ripley, "Dr Doug," and he's helped me begin to recover the alignment of my spinal column --- my cervix vertebrae had taken much of the stress in my life, and he's relieved that totally, and my hips had been twisted with the left leg longer, affecting my "balance" That too has been relieved, and my balance is almost back to normal. I am extremely pleased in the service I've received --- the ladies have been very helpful trying to get responses from UHC, and all the doctors and assistants have been very friendly and competent. I would recommend them to anyone suffering in their joints. True health does not depend upon a medication nor a supplement, and surgery is not the "go-to" solution but only as a "last resort" Instead of treating symptoms only, we should be seeking to find the cause of our ailments and correcting whatever issues have arisen from our choices in life --- some poor, some modestly correct but all having their effect on the entire body. How can we achieve ideal health if we neglect our spinal and nervous symptoms or seek only to "treat" and "mask" symptoms, such as pain. Phil is the nurse that takes care of us. He is quick to get back to you when you have questions. The problem isn't with the doctor or the nurse but with the overall organization, I think he has the words I am looking for. If there is a problem, they will say they called you, and yet I only have one cell phone and there are no voicemails or recent calls that say they called me. Also, I know I am not a wounded veteran and there is nothing special about me, and yet when I have a situation that I have been dealing with for almost 6 months, it seems like there is not a hurry to get this taken care of. The pain at times is excruciating and all I am wanting to do is get some help. It's to the point where it seems like I have to get another job that offers insurance, so I am able to find a doctor outside of the VA. I do appreciate any help that I get, but when it's not the help that I am looking for, the not help outweighs the help.
