Hiring more tellers. Only two tellers at any given time. The wait to do business is ridiculous.

I have been a member for over eight years. On August 7, 2025, I reported an issue that I had with my account. David Louis, one of the members service rep helped me resolving the issue. I had an excellent experience with David Louis. His professionalism, patience and commitment to help me were outstanding. Mr. David Louis helped me refinance my car loan, the annual percentage rate is about 3 percent less than I was paying before. I appreciate and grateful for his support. read more

Go somewhere else...used to be good...closed many branches. If you live in Long Island you are screwed and waiting to speak to someone takes at least 45 min by phone. Elmont branch is their biggest branch and it's like a zoo. Wait time is 30 mins to 1 hour to get anything done. Within next couple of months I will look into closing the account. read more

I have been with MCU for over 30 years and NEVER wrote an review before now. The Elmont Branch is truly the worst branch ever, the staff is very unprofessional (TORY METTO) and the current assistant manager (Suzette Smith) is no better and as customers we don't deserve this type of treatment. I have been with MCU for 23 years since 2000 and I have never written a review about them but today enough was enough. MCU is the WORST bank on planet earth and I sincerely mean that. I was on hold for 3 hours and 23 minutes before being disconnected and then Again for over an hour. I have attached photos of the call logs as confirmation of the calls. Once I got through to a representative he was very helpful but that fact that I was on the phone for over 4 and a half hours to get someone on the phone is absolutely unacceptable by any standards. What on gods beautiful green earth is up with the staff in this bank? There's plenty of staff but all move like turtles walking in peanut butter. They zero sense of urgency. It seems as if they're all drugged before their shifts. The best part is when you are being helped, they have terrible communication and people skills with a garbage attitude sprinkled on top of that. I feel like to see anyone for help here is like trying to get ahold of the Pope . Every single employee looks like they work at a laundry mat. Have you ever tried to DEPOSIT money at a financial institution and they refused to take your money? Well, that's exactly what happened to me today. First I find out that my account was "dormant" so I had to see a CSR to take it out of dormancy. The place was completely empty and yet I waited for what seemed like an eternity to see someone. Then I learned that whoever opened my account neglected to put my hyphenated name on the account in spite of my request. I showed them my government issued SS card as proof of ID and apparently, that wasn't good enough. So in turn, they would not take my nearly $20,000 deposit. Instead of making a fuss, I simply took my cashier's check and headed for the exit. They can keep the money remaining in my account and stuff it. I will gladly take my business elsewhere. read more

Worst banking institution ever. You can't reach anyone by phone the ATMs never work and there's always a long line to get in

This I is by far the worse place I've dealt with however they not far from all the other MCU I've visited Springfield, St.Albans and East Meadow. The customer service is very poor and their coin machine never works. I've been trying for the past like month to deposit mY coins and been getting sent back and forth to all 4 and still not successful. Yesterday I was informed by the manager at East Meadow to go to Elmont and if the machine not working they can provide me with the paper rolls and of course that didn't happen and the teller was mad rude. Mind you before that I went to saint Albans Branch and had the same outcome with broken machines. If the machines are always out of service maybe consider getting rid of them or find a different solution for the customers because this experience was NOT good customer service. read more

The last few times coming to this branch I've had the worst service. It's almost like coming to the DMV. The people at the front desk were rude, not inviting, dismissive and really didn't go the extra to resolve my issue. It's like she was rolling her eyes to my complaint. Like what do you want me to do? How about your job, what you get paid to do. To help customers. I asked to speak to a manager and it was like I was bothering her. Then when she calls the manager on the phone, she was almost coaching her to agree with not helping me. And when I called customer service after I left, they said I could have gotten my answer through the branch. The same place that turned me away earlier. ZERO STARS! This has to be the WORST credit union ever. I just opened up a Bethpage account because I KNOW they will treat me 200% better than MCU. I've had this account since 2013. This last week was the last straw for me. I had atleast $900 in the revolving account for bills. And two $200 charges were denied when the money was in BOTH accounts. I told them to charge my savings somehow MCU still forced them to take out my checking. DENYS the charge and even the RETRY anyway WITH funds in the account. CHARGES ME $30 THREE times for the fact they had to return the payment. WHEN THERE WAS MORE THAN ENOUGH MONEY IN THERE. As soon as I get off work today I'm taking every single penny out this bank. It's useless. I will never ever bank with y'all again. I call customer service to be told 56-59 minute wait and I'm on a BREAK from work. Didn't get resolved. One time I lost my debit card. Called during the pandemic of 2020 March to get a replacement. Sat on the phone for 1.5 hours to NEVER get a card. i got a debit card THIS year 2022. And when I picked it up after a bad review on YELP (someone reached out) THEY CHARGED ME $5 which I feel like should have be told me and also waived as a courtesy. Im disgusted. I waited so long because that's how much I do NOT trust MCU. The accounts take way too long to update charges. I disputed a return, it's been 2 weeks and they didn't even credit me back temporarily. Something is wrong with this system and I'm over it. I'll take my money elsewhere. The only good thing about this bank is that they give you a direct deposit a day earlier. BIG WHOOP. We're past the pandemic beginning stages and YALL still barely have the ADEQUATE amount of staff to answer phones. Why should I have to wait over an 1 to speak to someone. My chase and capital one account would never. The wait is 25 minutes the WORST and that's during high call volume. Do yourself a favor and bank somewhere else. They gamble with our money anyway. I wouldn't be surprised if I had more money than the system says. Because that's how long the system takes to update and I'm sure they are stealing from their customers cause that's what banks do to get rich. One bank actually sent me a check because they realized they owed me so I know MCU isn't too far but I know they are way too shabby to pay us back either.
