Just went inside to get my debit card. I had my ID on me which is necessary to get your debit card. Apparently there is a "new verification" system. Where your information goes through this 3rd party. Naturally, I had a few questions but Rhonda who was helping me didn't want to answer my questions. She also gave me attitude when I wanted to delve into this new verification system because it is hindering me from achieving my debit card. However I was never notified about this new update. She didn't want to share any information she had. Her customer service skills are terrible. Absolute worst bank I have ever been to. I had an account with TD for a bit and closed it because of the constant difficulty. - My biggest issue was that workers aren't properly trained. I've been given wrong information about TD's policies and my own account several times and always had to call their 800-number to have it straightened out. - With untrained workers comes HORRIBLE customer service. They are extremely rude and tend to dilly dally. There is no sense of urgency. - And of course ALWAYS a long line whether you're waiting to speak to a banker, the teller, or the ATM - Penny arcade is either out of order or too full to operate properly - There is also no regard for rules or driving etiquette in the parking lot which creates yet another disaster. I used to park on the street (metered parking) just to avoid it. Overall there is a serious lack of professionalism here. Honestly, there is really nothing I did like about TD or this branch. Nice clean spacious place. Not a lot of parking, parked my car right in front with hazards on...keep that in mind however there is a drive thru atm. Service is friendly but super super slow. The lady who was helping me was nice however she was on the work phone having a whole lot of conversation that had nothing to do with work ... interesting. read more

I was doing some shopping in green acres in valley stream after that went into this bank because is close by trying to open a new account with my settlement check waited a long time when finally got in I was seen by Sati she was rude since we started talking then she told me that because I live in Brooklyn I can't open an account with them that I have to go back to Brooklyn then she threw my ID on the desk and said yeah we can't open an account for you bye. I opened a checking account at the newly fresh and crisp Commerce Bank (TD) in 2007-ish, when the bank started. I did very little banking, mostly took advantage of the "Penny Arcade" because I just moved into my own apartment. TD (then Commerce,) had a free machine you could bring your loose change to, and get the cash back. AWESOME! Coinstar, eat your service fee! I used this account as my own "savings account" for extras like, birthday and Christmas cash... Since early 2008, I have moved three times. My TD checkbook was stowed away neatly in a box and I kind of forgot I even had it! Now that I have a more established home, I decided to dig through those boxes, and I came across my dusty old Commerce checkbook! (hmm are these puppies now worth something?! I kid. I kid.) I ventured to the local TD Bank in Valley Stream this evening to see the forgotten jackpot that has been stewing for the last few years. I entered the bank and was already waiting on a line. Ah, place hasn't changed. Even smelled the same. Like old, dollar bills. Brought me back... I stood on line to speak to one of the bankers? Is that their title? Pardon me if I am mistaken. I waited a good 25 minutes just to be seated. I did take full advantage of the free pens and lollipops in my waiting time. When I was finally seated, the poor banker was being blinded by the setting sun. Who set this place up! I was squinting too because the sun was glaring in my eyes as well. Did they do this on purpose? Distractions in a bank are never cool. Anyway, my banker, Nicole was extremely helpful, courteous and helped me with exactly what I was there for, through her sun strained eyes. I really was happy with her service and disposition. I left the bank with a brand new ATM card printed on the spot, and an excited feeling in my belly, of what balance I'd come across! The ATM is right outside in a little atrium, outside the bank. As I fumbled with my new card, I stepped up and inserted the still warm card, into its allotted slot. Well at least TRIED to. Go figure, ATM is broken. Really!? I just want to check my balance! I hop in the car and decide to go around the side and drive though the ATM. After I got past all the funky one-ways, went around the block, I pulled up, just to wait on line. AGAIN. Overall, my entire banking experience took a little over an hour, and the surprise money in my checking account, only amounted to $197.15. The basis on my low review reflects basically what I have encountered through the TD/Commerce years: Be prepared to wait. Whether it be the teller, the ATM, the banker, or even a simple ATM drive-through. Most of the times the Penny Arcade is full, or there are ten people ahead of you. Ok everyone...all together now ..." dammit, the ATM isn't working AGAIN! I can't even count the times I needed to use the ATM especially when the bank is closed and the ATM is not working. They only have one ATM, so if there is a line you just have to wait. Even when the bank is open, the ATM could still be out of order and they don't bother putting a out of order sign on it. They just recently put in a new ATM, which is great, now we have one new ATM that is constantly out of order. I went to this branch to open up a new account. The rep Sati was EXCELLENT - that is why I would gladly give her five stars. As for the management, the branch gets 0 stars. The treatment of this rep (mind you in front of a customer) was disgraceful. How you treat your staff should reflect your character - with respect. I exited the branch upset because the manager left Sati in tears. I gave Sati words of encouragement - never let ANYONE steal your joy. As for me returning to this branch, it will highly be unlikely. If I could give this branch negative 100, I would. I came in with my husband to talk to a mortgage specialist but we NEVER GOT TO TALK TO ONE. We wanted to get a mortgage with TD Bank, and this was the branch nearest to us. We waited for over 40 minutes to be seen by a banker - only to be dismissed by one of them because he chose to service someone else (even though they have a sign-in system and people's names are called in the order they signed in) We sat in the waiting area for what seemed to be forever, waiting for our names to be called, and finally WHEN WE ARE CALLED - the banker takes someone just walking in from the street. The level of un-professionalism, disrespect, and disregard for their own rules is unprecedented. I will never step inside that branch again (or any TD Bank branch - I pulled all my accounts out) - and I strongly advise for anyone not to either. read more

I had no choice but to get up and ask Ronda why she taking people that did not sign in, her response was they came in before me. I am like I just saw them come in and they did not sign in, how did you take them before me. I understand people can log in online but when I got to the bank, their was one person waiting and I got a automated message when I signed in saying I was second in line. I thought the location in Brooklyn on Remsen and Flatlands was the worst but this location comes in at a strong #2. I made an attempt to enter the lobby while several patrons are still inside waiting on line and someone just walked in before me and they lock the door in my face and send me to the drive thru. It was a few mins after 5pm and business is business but if you're bending the rules for others why can't I benefit as well. Ordinarily I wouldn't mind but the drive thru takes forever here and it's not like the branch is closed entirely for the day. I've banked with other institutions in the past that are for more accommodating. This is a service business not let's see which employee can run out the door the fastest before you're even closed for the day. read more

This branch ripped me off. Made a ATM deposit and the machine ate my card. And my deposit. When I asked them what can I do. They told me it's going to be under investigation needs 10 business days. After 13 business days of me calling twice, the last rep said my claim was denied. So pretty much eat it! I will be closing my account and take my little hard earned money some where else. read more

Always slow service and the people are a little Ghetto. Some have tattoos and piercings. It's not very professional looking. At least ask them to cover it up or take it out when you are at work. This bank and branch is the worst banking institution ever! As a new customer, I am one month into having an account and am closing it immediately. I made a cash deposit into the consistent nonworking Atm machine and was unable to have access to my cash deposit for several days. After being directed to customer service on the phone, then back to the branch, I ended up with absolutely no solution to the problem generated by the bank. The tellers are extremely nonchalant and rude. In simpler terms this bank and branch is "ghetto." I encourage any reasonable person to find somewhere professional and accredited to bank. The headache you will receive here is not worth it. They hold your money hostage for petty errors created by their lack of competency.
