I went with 7 friends, you enter at Gate 8 off of Clinton Drive, just tell the security guard you are there for the tour. There is a nice plaza to wait at right next to the boats. The parking lot is safe; let's face it, the only folks getting in have to pass security! A bit before 10 am one of the employees came out to check everyone in and handed out bottles of cold water which was great as it was almost 90 degrees outside in full sunlight. We boarded and were asked to sit inside while they got underway. One of the shipmates gave a safety talk and then we were free to go outside. The boat moves along at a pretty good pace, every now and then it slows for tug boat traffic. You get to see the industries that are along the ship channel. There are lots of big ships and also small ones. Some are loading or unloading, others are being repaired or a clean coat of paint. The shipmates serve coffee for the adults on the way and after turning around after about 45 minutes they offer cold water and soft drinks. There are so many photo opportunities so take lots of pictures. You are asked to go inside while they secure to the dock, the air conditioning feels great. Then you are on your way. The entire crew was so nice, they were helpful and friendly and could answer questions. Please, if you plan to take children, keep them under control. While not dangerous, there are things to watch for so you don't trip and the doors for the cabin are very heavy and hard to open and shut quickly so a child could easily get hurt. We went in the pontoon where you can bring your own food/drinks. It was a perfect day and we were able to go on a tour with this company. We enjoyed speaking to the owner because she had been in the area so long and really gave us a tour of the area on the water and she let us know more about things on land that we didn't really know. They also have music on board and you can choose to hook up to your Bluetooth and listen to your own music if you like. We had a great time with our kids. They even stop at waterside bars, restaurants and convenience stores for you to get out, stretch your legs and reload on those beverages if you didn't bring enough. Pinky's made it so easy to reserve, communicate when we had to make a schedule change, and help my guests feel at ease on the water! They handle the kayak transportation, life jackets, quick paddling instructions, and even provided dry bags and bottle of water! The two people who run this local business are friendly common sense people, who will work with you to make the trip a good one. The price is well worth the trip! This was my second or third time using Pinky's and they were just awesome.

I'll just start by saying Pinky's is awesome. That's my review in a nutshell…read more Now for the longer version: We rented kayaks less than 24 hours in advance and they were so accommodating. Great communication too. We showed up at Bay Area Park at our designated time (we had decided on 2pm). The boats were waiting and ready on the dock along with paddles and life jackets. We were offered a dry bag, but we brought our own. We were also given two bottles of water for the trip and loaned a map of the Bayou. We accidentally brought home the map. I need to return that to them. Anyway.... With a very easy launch, we were on the water and paddling. The bayou was low that day but there were no issues. Did you know there are bald eagles out there? We saw alligators but they kept their distance and so did we. However, we did stop to watch when two alligators got in a fight! Tails were in the air, big splashes... It was crazy. I've never seen anything like it and we got a front row seat. Absolutely amazing, y'all! I loved seeing all of the different birds. The osprey were so cool. And there were fish jumping out of the water near our boats. Just a surreal experience. Y'all gotta try Pinky's. Prices are reasonable and they're just super nice people. The experience on the bayou was so incredible, we're already planning to get back out there as soon as the weather clears up.
