It doesn't have the international recognition of Ippudo or Santouka or the creativity of Nagi, but the ramen here feels as though someone is treating you for a nice dinner at home. There are only three flavors available of the ramen, the shiro (classic), kuro (garlic), and aka (spicy). I've had both the kuro and aka, and I can say that they are extremely satisfying. Neither the garlic nor the spice was too overpowering. The broth was also extremely well-balanced. Not too fatty but still smooth enough to make you want to slurp the bowl once you've finished. The pork cuts weren't as tender as I've had at other places, but still very well done. The tamago was also well done. Love the runniness! But what puts this place over the edge into 5-star territory is the price. You can get a super filling bowl of ramen here for only 230 pesos! And that's for the larger size! I wager that's basically half of what you'd pay at the more upscale mall places for nearly the same quality. I was also able to try one of their sets featuring a bowl of ramen of your choosing, their gyudon rice don on the side and a bowl of fresh fruits for only 360 pesos. I was stuffed after. So so worth it. The gyoza was also really well made, and a steal for only 100 pesos. The staff here is always super attentive and accommodating, even when we've come in with a larger group, and they do accept all major credit cards, which is a huge plus for me. Definitely worth a try. I don't have to venture out to the more upscale parts of the Metro to enjoy a well-curated bowl of ramen anymore!

Every day they put up the tents and folding tables then take them down at closing time. You order at the front, then have a seat: you pay afterwards. Staff work as a team: they come to your table to verify your order, prepare your food, then bring it to your table. Staff aren't very sociable but they're willing take pictures for you. Food arrived nice and hot. WE ORDERED - Shrimp tempura - Some parts are soggy with a few spots that are crispy. I'm used to having tempura with a nice light crispy coating. - Spicy (imitation) crab roll was overloaded with sauce (typical in the PI). It was missing the pickled ginger. - Aka ramen - my favorite part was the delicious tender chasu. This was spicy! The broth was complex and had nice depth of flavor. Noisy and busy because it's an open air eatery: cars zooming by, cars being washed and vacuumed at the business next door, the prep work being done in the kitchen, plus music in the background. Their strength is in their ramen; sadly, you can't order their ramen to go nor for delivery because they don't have the containers. The menu is very extensive, if you want Japanese anything - it's here. But, I stuck to the sushi side. The service is incredibly attentive, you never need to summon help, they're always ready to refill your tea or ask if you need anything else. I had some Nigri octopus and uni, both exquisite. (I actually ordered the uni again because the price was so low and it tasted so fresh) I went with two Maki rolls that were suggested, and they were great too. I cannot imagine a better Japanese menu selection in the area and loved the whole experience.

Uncle went for the tonkotsu ramen. Big Bro and cousin decided they each wanted the 5-piece shrimp tempura. Service was pretty fast considering there were only 4 other tables being serviced. Needless to say, the bowls both came out quickly. My bowl wasn't impressive, even at the least. It barely hinted the aroma of miso, so I really didn't get any taste of it. There was nothing authentic about it, it was almost as if they just boiled water then added salt and miso powder before serving. It needs some serious work. Uncle said he liked his tonkotsu. I didn't bother tasting it since I was disappointed enough with the miso bowl. And I don't know how to get started on the shrimp tempura. (See attached picture.) There was no comparison to the picture they were advertising on their menu and what we got. It was quite a mess - the shrimp got lost in a forest of cooked tempura flour. I would score a zero on presentation for this dish. Big Bro and cousins said it was "okay." I know, maybe I'm being unfair since my palate is not one with the masses in this here area. But there's potential here - if they care just a little bit more, it will show and will make a difference with their food quality wise. If it's your first time, try their famous signature Happiness Ramen. It costs Php 480 a bowl and the serving is big enough for three kids to share. Or two adults. Or one ramen-lover like me. The pork is soft and the broth can be oily but then again that's the point. It's just good. You have the option to add tamago to your bowl (for an additional fee) and I strongly recommend you do that. It's good enough on its own though. They don't have much in their menu but thankfully they have gyoza. I mean how can a ramen place not have gyoza? The two have been married since time immemorial. Okay I'm exagerrating. But really, get some gyoza too. They're really good.
