These guys did a great job for us yesterday. They took the job on short notice, and even though they had to push the schedule back a few hours, they kept in good contact and were there when they said they would be. The two guys had all their own gear and truck, and kicked some serious ass, in the heat, going upstairs no less. Nothing was damaged and they were very respectful of our possessions. Owner Nick Murdock says he takes the stewardship of his company seriously--try and find another moving company where that kind of personal dedication pervades every element of an interaction with this business. Try to get an honest estimate based on a visual of your belongings from anyone else; most companies want you to do the work for them. And I did do a good deal of packing--but that was only a beginning. These folks really care about delivering quality and expertise to the customer, and do so with a maximum of concern and a minimum of fuss. It can be a bit disconcerting to see a batch of strangers in your home quickly wrapping up old and valuable furniture, but in a long move from California to Washington state, none of my valuables were maimed or destroyed; I have several pieces of large, vintage stained glass and each arrived as if they has just been carried down the block by a concerned neighbor. Having been moved more than once, I can usually tell within minutes whether the choice I have made is a good one; the national movers often arrive with huge truck already half-loaded with someone else's goods, and are largely insensitive to the mover; the Murdock team seems personally invested, each member diligent, asking questions if needed, or answering them politely if asked--the company is solution oriented. They are actually fun to be around, largely eliminating the fright and discomfort of strangers handling your stuff. I have no hesitation in awarding a top rating to this defiantly local group, whose pricing is more than fair, and whose planning, from the first moment connecting with scheduling master Jeremy, to the last drop off at the destination, demonstrates a job done with strength, concern, care and good humor. read more

Necail and John were awesome! I needed help moving my parents from their 3 bedroom home in Paradise to Sacramento but I didn't have details on the move until about 3 days before. Necail held the time slot open for me which worked perfectly. He attended to details like remembering small furniture components and putting them somewhere safe so I could find them on the other end. They worked super fast and were friendly and professional. I even forgot to mention a few items that needed to be loaded and they calmly managed to sort out how to get them on the truck. They didn't close up the truck until we had done a thorough walk-through of the house. They are terrific! Moving is a real pain but these guys made it smooth and easy. I reached out to several junk removal companies for quotes, and not only did Murdock's provide an affordable and reasonable quote, but they were also super friendly, responsive, and easy to work with. I let Neacail know dates/times that worked best for me, and Neacail immediately confirmed a pick-up date. He called the day of my appointment, showed up on time, loaded up my junk in the trailer, and hauled everything away. I also appreciate that our scrap metal and cardboard would be taken to our local recycling facility. I contacted this company via Yelp, because of the reviews, for an estimate to load a trailer of furniture from our deceased parents to be driven to San Diego. Almost immediately Mr. Murdock contacted me with an extremely reasonable estimate. The men, Jesse and Connor showed up right on time if not a bit early. The morning of, they made contact with me when they were leaving Chico to drive to Orland, which was so appreciated. The two men were friendly, polite, professional and most of all took great care of our treasured antiques. They came well prepared to package up and protect our things, then carefully loaded up it all up in the U-Haul. We also had them haul off what we didn't want to keep. Throughout the time spent helping us, either man did not hesitate to clarify or ask questions making sure they were doing as we wanted. In the end, their attitude was, "What else can we do for you?" I have a broken water main and needed a 4 x 6 wooden playhouse moved by Tuesday 9/25 to get it installed. This guy strung me along for over a week first saying he would definitely help move the shed, then he needed pictures emailed, then needed to come out and see it. He never called or showed up and after five days when I contacted him again he told me to rent equipment and move it myself. I am 68 years old and 5 feet 4 inches tall! I had to cancel the water main install. Not funny!!!! read more

Today Neacail Murdock and his excellent employee Amato worked their butts off moving my wife's stuff out of our house. I mistakenly said it would be a 2-hour job, not realizing how much stuff there was. The two guys worked non-stop for a full three hours, with no complaints (I hope I didn't make them too late for their next job). During the job they were very professional, and used great care in protecting my wife's furniture and antiques. On top of that they were really nice guys, and both had excellent communication skills. I will be hiring them for all of my future moving and hauling jobs, and will recommend them to everyone I know. Btw, there prices were VERY FAIR - and even less than what other companies charge. Don't believe the one or two dummies who gave this company less than 5 stars - Murdock's Hauling is the best.
