We used them to move our 2-bedroom apartment in Chico. The guys who moved us, Jake and Steven, were the best movers we'd ever had. They were clean, polite, and genuinely friendly - a pleasure to have around. They were patient and kind with our little kids. They were fast and did their job well. Arranging the move with Nick was easy and friendly too. Unfortunately, I had a misunderstanding with him about whether or not the movers were supposed to pack our things. This led to my husband and I having to spend many hours later that day to pack up most of our kitchen, all of our food, and some bathroom items, which we had not planned on and which we were trying to avoid by getting movers to do it, given that we have two small kids. I looked back at our message thread and I see it was clearly indicated on my request for a quote that I would need our things packed into boxes, but no responsibility was taken on their end for missing that. Anyway, overall I would recommend using them. Just make sure you confirm exactly what services you are contracting for so you don't get an unhappy surprise. read more

I was looking for the best moving company in Chico and I found them in Murdock's Moving. We had a large custom home filled with custom furniture and artwork. The house is built into the side of a hill that needed everything carried down 3 flights of stairs. They were very prompt, provided me with an estimate and showed up on time to pack up everything up. All of our items arrived at our new home in perfect condition. My goodness, I can only speak accolades about Murdock's. I was able to move across the state and avoid so much stress by having these wonderful movers under my hire. Before moving some several hours away I had additional furniture in another city that I needed collected en route, and Murdock's made those logistics a breeze. From first reaching out they were quite prompt and professional in turn around and communication. I was able to get someone same day out to inventory my items for an estimate. Dylan, I believe, was prompt, thorough, and accurate with his estimate. He was as patient as he was charming in fielding my questions and gave me a great competitive rate. When moving day came, I met the two primary movers handling my things, Adam and Cody, at the nearby stop location. They were bright and attentive, and respectful of the furniture they weren't to take. They were both kindly and made pleasent conversation while being both patient and understanding about my dog. As we arrived at my home later for the primary load up, they were joined by Ryan, Rileyn, and Vince who all disassembled and moved everything into the moving truck with great speed and a generally jovial climate. They needed very little direction and showed good respect for my things, and they exceeded both my expectations and timeline for the day. On the following day, in the destination city, only Adam and Cody came to unload but it didn't take even hardly any longer, such was their proficiency. I even was a touch wishy-washy on where I wanted my bed but they were happy to oblige disassembling and reassembling it to better suit the space. Their patience continued to endure my nosey and curious dog, and I felt very at ease during the whole process, contrary to some previous moving stress I've experienced. This company was a dream from start to finish. The appointment process was straight forward and they easily accommodated a last minute scheduling change. They arrived promptly at the agreed upon time and got right to work. These guys worked for over four hours without a break. They wrapped all of our furniture in plastic and moving blankets and to watch them load was like watching the Tetris world championships. When they were done loading they jumped in the truck and headed on down the road. When they got to our new home we showed them the rooms and they did it all in reverse. No damages to hardwood floors and they were very careful going around corners. We literally have nothing bad to say about this company. My move from Chico to Vegas was almost $14,000. For that amount of money I expect my property to be in the same condition as when they were packed. I'm pissed because my roll top desk wasn't put together. The top slides were left on the side of the desk meaning we had to remove the heavy top to put them back in. Now I find my workshop desk is lopsided because somehow two of the legs are shorter than the others. I haven't figured that one out yet as the desk is very heavy and hard to maneuver. I reported my lawn mower was missing and never heard back from them. The sofa wasn't protected properly with blankets and so the bottom of the slip cover was black all over. The movers were polite and worked hard but when they are moving in your furniture quickly it's impossible to check everything is ok. Update: Nic, the owner, reached out to me and corrected the problems to my satisfaction. He definitely cares about his company's reputation and his customers. read more
