They were on time, courteous, and very careful with my things. They were also quite fast while also being careful with my things. I am having my things stored in a pod if and until I sell my home and have an agreeable home to go to. Everything is on a contingency basis as far as real estate so I am storing those things and we'll see if the sale of this house and the buying of the one I want goes thru. They filled a 2b 3 level apartment so fast. CJ helped me schedule my moving appointment and was great to talk. We needed office furniture moved from one location to another. The online process to kick off arrangements was straightforward and easy to use. Jared called in response within a short amount of time. We just finished leg 3 of our long distance move (3 states!) and out of all the SNAFUS we hit along our 9 month journey, the Murdock team made this some sort of wonderful. Aces all the way, start to finish. On time, excellent communication, cheerful, polite crew members. It started with moving things out of our massive Chico home in the wicked heat of August 2020. The items were to have gone into storage in Paradise (since Chico at the time had no units big enough). However that facility was closed, trucks were loaded, so they were patient enough to divert to a last minute arrangement in Chico. When they were done, they locked up, kept the keys, and sent me pictures of the full units. We had a false start for the next leg which Nick was very helpful in dealing with the curve ball we were thrown. He checked in with us a few times while we kept at finding our forever home in the wilds of Washington. Finally the day came, we had a closing date and made arrangements to get our belongings moved out of storage. Next snag when a few wrenches were thrown in on our end. Nick happily shifted the schedule, never once making us feel like dolts. After loading the trucks in Chico, he sent a text with an update so I could close out the storage account and then let us know they were on the road with an ETA. They arrived early this morning, navigated the terrain of the island, and set right to work, hefting items into upstairs rooms with practiced ease. Hands down this is THE moving company for anyone in Chico to use. We interviewed several and Nick and his team hit the ball way out of the park. You won't be disappointed! read more

This is my fourth experience with Murdock - twice for an office and twice to move my home. These guys have the best attitude, they work quickly, and seem to actually care about how the job is done. Our most recent move was from a 2800 square foot home, with several large, bulky pieces. Even as the moving crew came onsite and did the moving day walk through, there was no complaining. They figured out the plan, and let us know up front that there may be an issue with truck space. We hadn't done the pre-move consult. I would highly recommend booking that for next time. In any case, they ended up bringing additional crew for the unload as we were already nearing a very long day. It wasn't cheap, BUT, I would use them again for making it easy. My husband and I felt we were in good hands and even received a follow up call afterwards, to ask how everything went. read more

We used them to move our 2-bedroom apartment in Chico. The guys who moved us, Jake and Steven, were the best movers we'd ever had. They were clean, polite, and genuinely friendly - a pleasure to have around. They were patient and kind with our little kids. They were fast and did their job well. Arranging the move with Nick was easy and friendly too. Unfortunately, I had a misunderstanding with him about whether or not the movers were supposed to pack our things. This led to my husband and I having to spend many hours later that day to pack up most of our kitchen, all of our food, and some bathroom items, which we had not planned on and which we were trying to avoid by getting movers to do it, given that we have two small kids. I looked back at our message thread and I see it was clearly indicated on my request for a quote that I would need our things packed into boxes, but no responsibility was taken on their end for missing that. Anyway, overall I would recommend using them. Just make sure you confirm exactly what services you are contracting for so you don't get an unhappy surprise. read more

I was looking for the best moving company in Chico and I found them in Murdock's Moving. We had a large custom home filled with custom furniture and artwork. The house is built into the side of a hill that needed everything carried down 3 flights of stairs. They were very prompt, provided me with an estimate and showed up on time to pack up everything up. All of our items arrived at our new home in perfect condition.
