Driving through Tennessee we decided to give this place a try...and we were very pleased. We sat ourselves and were greeted by a lovely waitress named Kaylin, who doubled as our bartender. This place has a good sports bar vibes lots of large screen TV's to watch the games. My cranberry Vodka was great, she gave an honest pour with a good splash of lemon( Just perfect) ! Our lemon pepper wings, and pickle chips were crisp and tasty. The side salad was a great addition, and the portion was quite large. My hubby Raved about the house burger& Cajun fries. If you're driving through from Tennessee to Kentucky and need a quick bite, this joint is a great place to stop. The food is great, service is excellent & very attentive...bathroom is very clean. Our 1st time there, what a treat it was. Clean, bright & cheerful atmosphere. Pleasant helpfull & very friendly waitress(our waitress was new and had to keep going back to the kitchen to ask questions, but she was SUPER). My husband and I were staying nearby in Strunk, KY. We're from the Chicagoland area and needed a relaxing getaway from the hustle and bustle of life. We rented a cabin so most food we prepared there, but when looking for a restaurant to dine at we realized quickly we had to search far. That's when we came across Murf's! Murf's is super easy to find, right on the side of the road. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic and so many businesses being hard hit, this one appears to not be affected at all. The overall vibe of Murf's is a classy, rustic sports bar in the woods. Yep, super fun and interesting. We were here on a Thursday afternoon, so not the night or weekend scene but we absolutely enjoyed the atmosphere. The service was awesome, very laid back and friendly, as well as informative in answering our questions about the menu. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and hush puppies, SOO flavorful and delicious!! My husband ordered a mix of wings, spicy BBQ and Garlic. He's picky with his wings but loves the flavor and amount of meat on these. If we're ever out this way again, which I hope so - it's beautiful - we'll hit up Murf's again for sure! This place is chill. It's got a biker bar vibe, but is safe for the whole family and doubles as a restaurant with billiards. We met our cousins in Kentucky here because it's half way between them and Knoxville. I had lemon pepper wings with bbq pork and deep fried cauliflower. TRY THE FRIED CAULIFLOWER! That was such a pleasant surprise. I've never had it before. A heartier and healthier alternative to French fries and they'll sub it in for the French fries at no extra cost. Try it with mustard. The BBQ was a little disappointing. It was good, but not great. It kinda tastes like the store bought bbq. Very saucy and sweet. Certainly not made in house. You could do better on the meat. My family all really enjoyed their burgers, so it seems like they're a higher quality. The burgers are pretty big, so get a mini if you want a small portion. Wings were good. Use to I would of recommended thos place to eat. Here lately no. The service is awful. Food is worse. The lady that manages the place is rude to her employees and can be to customers. You see most the girls that work there, mind you under 21, drunk trying wait on you. I get having bad days. Last 3 times I've eat here my foods been burnt. Last 2 times they messed up my order and burnt it. Today was no different. It's awful to kno people let their business be run this way. Finally got here for dinner on a long road trip, and thrilled to find the food was delicious! Good burger, wings, cold beer and lots of TVs for sports fans. Great to talk to the owner and hear the story of the place...now I know why they were often closed (under previous owners) over the past several years - a great tale! I'm giving a two star rating considering the food was good. It's been a few days sense we were there. Don't think I'll be taking my family back unless they get a new waitress to work. The service was terrible. The young blonde that was there shouldn't be working with the public. Wouldn't bring refills or check on us. Was very hateful. I don't know if she just didn't like us or had a problem with us. Her main concern was the people seating around the bar area. Made my wife, daughter, and I feel like we was a burden. I can't remember her name because she never told us, we believe someone may have called her Taylor (could be wrong but that's what it sounded like).
