I told the sales lady I was moving my elderly 85-year-old aunt with dementia to an assisted living home in Dalton on August 16, 2024. On August 6 I received a call from a friend of ours, saying they were moving out of town and would be moving their family member, who lived in the same assisted living home and wanted to know if we would be interested in a lift chair for free. I told them we would as long as I could stop the purchase of the one I had purchased a few days earlier. I called Linderman's, told them the story and the salesperson told me there would be a re-stock fee. I did not ask how much, I assumed it would be $25 to $50 fee. I would have been glad to pay that amount. Now you have to remember this chair has not been moved from their showroom or warehouse. THEY CHARGED US 15% OF THE TOTAL SALES PRICE, TOTALING $110.00. I told the sales lady when I went by and picked up the check, I would never purchase another item from their company and I would make sure I broadcast this to everyone that I know. I was not a new customer off the street. We had bought furniture from them in the past. Again I expected to pay some type of fee, but I find this is a ridiculous fee knowing the circumstances.

They delivered it... sort of. They wouldn't put it on her bed frame. Just left it there for her to do it. An older woman... with a bad back... yeah. If she had been aware that this would fall to her maybe she would have chosen some place different- a place where service means something and helping people matters. Honestly, just buy your mattresses from Amazon. I'd bet our regular Prime driver would have brought it in, set it up and even made the bed for her.

The mattress was great at first, even though it took a week to adjust to it, but then it was super comfortable. The problem was when we were both on it, it sagged too much in the middle. We ordered a BigFig and waited till it was delivered to start the return process. They were super polite, but, the manager was kinda confrontational, and they seemed offended that we would return instead of paying the upcharge for a different mattress. In addition, the paperwork might mention it in some fine print, but I was not told that returns required a $200 restocking fee and a $60 pickup fee. Then, the return was not processed in the amount of time I was told, nor was I told I had to come back with my credit card to complete the process, and I'm trying to work with both mattresses charged on my credit card in the same billing cycle. I wouldn't consider this hassle as a reason not to shop here. Just be aware that a return has the fees and be prepared for the extra hassle with that aspect.

They made good with a store credit that allowed me to go to their other store and get another chair. No hassle, no problems, just good customer service. I did however move with my bed frame so I was half way there! I had exactly 30min to find a mattress, throw it in the back of my Uhaul, and return the truck in time for "no extra time fee"! I went to Yelp and looked up 'mattress outlet' and Mattress outlet of Chattanooga came up! I saw there were no reviews yet but the pictures spoke for itself and it also was the closest place to my location...I knew I had "literally" 30min so I called first and said just that. A nice man answered and I said "I'm in a bind and need to return this truck in 30min please pull out your best firm mattresses for me so I can make a quick decision"- he said "I'm already on it" and I made my way to them! When I walked in the owner looked at me and said "do you need a mattress in 30min" and I said "well now I need it in 15"- he motioned me over to the section with the firm mattresses & helped me decide. I was so appreciative! I fell in love with his firm mattresses called the Genisis...firm but comfortable with a cooling-type top! The owner also showed me an awesome mattress protector top that (if purchased) would withhold the warranty preservation of any type of water damage. So I grabbed that too! In and out in 10min! They loaded it into the Uhaul in under 2 min and I went on my way! Very please and appreciative for that southern hospitality! Will refer my friends to y'all! Take care!
