I had requested my hamburger without the bun since it came with cheese, bacon, and an egg on top. I truly enjoyed this taste combination and will order it again. When the hostess tried to sit us at a dirty table right by the front door, we asked to sit farther back in the restaurant. The hostess told us we had to sit at the table right next to the front door (which was very uncomfortable having everyone going in and out staring at us as we ate). She said there were no other tables available because they were all reserved for trivia. The alleged only table available had not even been cleaned but the hostess sat the menus and napkins onto the table and walked away. I went and asked the hostess if I could get a rag to clean the table cuz it was dirty and something sticky spilled on it. She walked over and wiped the table with a dry napkin which did absolutely no good. We had to wait for the waitress to come take our order and ask her to wipe the dirty table down. My wife ordered the marinara flat bread which came out burnt on the bottom so she could only eat half of it. I tried a piece of it and the crust was black and tasted like it. They really had no thoughts or cares about serving it. I had the wings, medium with chopped garlic. They were ok and average. Hotter than most medium wing sauces, but could probably find the like at any old average wing place. Wasn't worth all the other hassles. While we were waiting for our server to bring our drinks, two people came in and asked for a table and they got seated at one of the two small tables in the back where we had asked to sit and was told by the hostess that we couldn't. They left without ordering anything. The waitress was nice so that was the only positive experience out of the whole thing. She even offered to move us to another table because I guess there were two small tables back where we originally wanted to sit but the hostess told us no. They were trying to give us the bill and cash us out while we were still eating our food because they wanted our table. Our drinks never got refilled and the only time the waitress or anyone came by to check on us was when she tried to cash our bill out while we were still eating. If you haven't dined here before I would say go get fast food somewhere because I can assure you the experience and the food will be much better! In the words of Gordon Ramsey, they have no passion about their food! We would not recommend this place to anyone. Overall, this was a horrible dinner experience on top of the overpriced, burnt food. Stopped into Murph's for lunch while on a trip to Orlando. Easy access right off I-4 which is one reason we chose it. Good local restaurant/bar (I think it's a Steelers backers bar based on decor). We sat at the bar and had good service. Our server (Gretchen) was very sweet and quick with our order. She was taking care of the entire place (had a few tables and a few groups at the bar around lunch time) and still attentive to her patrons. They had a variety of entree choices: apps, salads, burgers, handhelds, wraps, pasta, flatbreads. My husband and I both chose a wrap and had it pressed (1 chicken Caesar and 1 turkey bacon ranch). My husband got his chicken fried but also available grilled. He gave it a 4/5- only "complaint" would be that one side of the wrap had all the chicken and the other side was pretty bare. My TBR wrap was very good- not overly sauced. The ingredients were fresh. Bacon was a little salty but overall, the wrap had good flavor. They were good sized wraps, I took half to go for later. The pasta salad on the side was very good as well- seemed like an Italian dressing based pasta salad with onions, celery, shredded carrots. Came in for a in prom Tu lunch on a rainy day we sat right away. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. There are plenty of tvs with different games. The noise and light level was very comfortable. They apparently also do trivia on Tuesday nights. The food was good and very satisfying. Went to Murphs last night and the nachos with blacked chicken were great! Service was great! Not so great was the vegetarian wrap I ordered. 1st there is no mention of mushrooms being in the wrap. The actual menu in the restaurant had a different description than what is on their website. The website says a mix of sautéed seasonal vegetables. Which is not very specific. But the menu at the restaurant said sautéed onions, zucchini and squash, with iceberg lettuce and choice of dressing. What came out was sautéed onions, bell peppers and mushrooms with iceberg lettuce. Very disappointing as I don't eat mushrooms. If you are going to have something on the menu with specific ingredients, then have it come out that way, not however the cook decides to make it. If you don't have the vegetables the menu shows, then tell the guest who ordered so they can change their mind if they want. read more

A great spot in a nice location. I was first told about this little Victoria park establishment by friends but hadn't quite tried the menu when I first visited. Opting for just the tomato bisque. That soup was absolutely delicious and drew me back in recently. I tried my hand at the fish and chips meal, subbing out for onion rings. While fried a little crispier than I'd like, I will say I'd come back for another try at something different off of the service alone. Went to Murph's for the second time today, first time was during their soft opening, so it's been quite a while. I wasn't impressed then but gave them the benefit of the doubt and knew we'd try it again some night. We got there pretty early on a Sunday night so were seated quickly and our server was right with us. Always a win in my book. Drinks came out quickly. My hubby's Michelob ultra was a little warm but my landshark was perfect. We ordered the cheese curds to start and they were phenomenal. If that was the only food it would be 5 stars. I love ranch dressing with mine and that also was great. This made my Midwest heart so happy! Just an FYI they were little on the salty side which I didn't mind but others noted at the table. Then the Mahi Reuben and pasta salad came and that's where this meal took a nose dive. My sandwich was missing the crunch the coleslaw would have given it. The Mahi was overcooked and dry. And the pasta salad was such a salty - olive bomb it was inedible. Not sure if whoever made this batch got a little carried away or if this is how it would always taste. The other items at the table were a mushroom Swiss burger - overcooked and lacked flavor. The fish and chips which had a great amount of cod but the breading was super soggy, maybe it spent too much time under a heat lamp? And finally a patty melt which also no one was a fan of. The fries are coated in batter which I'm never a fan of, just more chemicals when a potato is more than enough. Also one person got onion rings which had an odd hint of sugar in the batter. Sorry that today was the worst experience we had at this usually good neighborhood laid back sports pub/ restaurant which we have frequented in the past. Service was the worse we ever had this time. It was almost empty but after waiting over 15 minutes before I even had my cocktail and our food orders were never taken. Granted that there appeared to be only one waitstaff and the bartender. However we saw others who came in after us who were waited on before our order was even taken. I hope this bar/restaurant improves its service and customer care, it used to be much better. read more

Recently opened, tiny but mighty spot that is growing fast. We were there on a Wednesday night at 6pm and grabbed the last table. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, and kept us informed on our food status. She mentioned the kitchen is still finding it's groove but I assure you that's only timing and not on the food quality. We started with some wings which were perfectly crispy and still moist and meaty. The hot sauce was pleasantly not straight vinegar and had some actual flavor (not really hot-hot but tasty). It was a bit of a wait between wings and mains but no more than 20 min and I'd much rather than the mains coming out too early. I got the fried chicken sandwich which was a legit full breast and breaded well with a great crunch. My father got the Bavarian burger which was a shock - it was actually cooked medium rare! It had some char! It was definitely closer to 10oz! It was messy (in the best way)! We have been seeking a good burger for a while and I feel like Murphs is the best we've found this far. I wasn't happens the service but they were packed so I won't say too much on that. I think they should update the bar with an overhead so they can store more glasses and bottles. Tried them for the first time today. Walking in I thought it would be a fancy place but I'm glad it wasn't. It's more of a laid back bar. My husband and I both had burgers and fries. Burger was cooked perfectly and tasted like a good ol diner burger you crave. Fries were crispy and delicious. I order a drink called Murphys Rum something and honestly I could've done without. Nothing special just tasted like juice. The real price here was our server Melissa. She was amazing and real tentative. She was so sweet and made our experience. I will be back soon! read more

Disclosure - only open for a few days. Visited Murph's Grill in Victoria Park in DeLand today at lunch. When we walked in there was just one table that needed to be cleaned off and the rest were full. It was busy today. I expected it to be that way because there is not much around and it's conveniently located for those that live in the community. The inside is lacking ANY decor on the walls and is very bright inside. To be fair, there are many elderly in the area, so a brighter establishment may be a positive. Our server, Emily was fantastic! She was knowledgeable about the menu, she was upbeat, she was quick about refilling drinks and overall she carried the experience! The food was hit or miss. I do believe that once they get going, get the groove, it will be a pretty good place. The fish dip was good! It was interesting that it was served with pita versus crackers. I actually liked the idea. This was a 4 out of 5. The meatballs came out cold. We sent them back. A new batch came out with piping hot sauce but the meatballs were still lukewarm. The taste 3 out of 5. The Philly egg rolls were a definite no. They really lacked flavor. 2 out of 5. People around us kept ordering soup and it was getting rave reviews. Maybe next time. The meals we ordered: Arugula salad with mango & strawberries. It had feta cheese. I actually think it would taste better with goat cheese and maybe the crispiness of cucumber added but the dressing was very good and the peppery taste of the arugula was great with the fruit. Overall a very good salad. 4 out of 5. Cheeseburger. It was cooked to request. It was a regular burger and fries. Good, not spectacular. 3 out of 5. The buffalo chicken wrap with fries. It was good. Also, 3 out of 5. The fish and chips (changed to onion rings) was a mixed basket. Lol, no pun intended. The hush puppy was cold. The rings would luke warm but the fish was hot and very good! If we went off the fish alone, 5 out of 5. We talked to one of the owners and discussed the inconsistency among the dishes. He let us know that they still don't have a heat lamp and that he believes that was the problem. He was nice and wanted feedback. He gave us a discount on our bill and asked us to return in the future. He and his family run another business in Orange City and he was very popular in the restaurant. I truly believe that once they get their bearings, they will be a local favorite. Overall, we will be back. I moved away from Victoria Park well before this place opened but I was visiting a friend who still lives there and she wanted to check it out. We were having an informal late birthday drink and there are not many places open on Sunday but we figured it was a sports pub with a full bar so we should be able to get some good drinks and tasty bar food. Unfortunately, the drinks were not good and the food was horrible. The Server said they were out of house red wine which was fine as my friend wanted a better red and I wanted an amaretto sour. To make it short, the red wine tasted like it really came from a 3 dollar Aldi wine, or it had not been properly sealed. The amaretto sour also was 99.9% sour mix with maybe a splash of amaretto with a slice of lemon. We ordered the Bavarian pretzel(s) with beer cheese dip and honey mustard as well as some wings. The pretzels came hanging on a display and (see inclosed picture) literally looked like dog poop. Dark and tough and we really think deep fried, they were not soft and fluffy and the Beer cheese looked like it had been scraped from the bottom of days old cheese kettle. It had no taste other than being a weird paste. The wings also were obviously dropped into a fryer to reheat as the insides were cold and the meat consistency was tough. We didn't even bite into them since we were able to touch the bones with our fingers and feel that the temperature was not right. It's really hard to mess up bar food but we got the worse bar food in the area. The server didn't even ask how things were but he had to notice that we didn't finish our drinks and we had torn apart a few of the wings with our fingers, and the pretzels were still hanging. We just asked for the bill cause neither one of us wanted to deal with it today. We paid 50 dollars for food and drinks and a tip but will never be back. With the skyrocketing costs of eating out it is extremely important that the food be worth the price and eating here is not! read more

Unfortunately my wife and I had dinner here last night. Started out ok with the fried pickles that came out in a timely fashion. So my wife and i ordered the French dip with sweet potato fries and the Philly cheesesteak with French fries. It took 45 minutes after we ordered for the sandwiches came out......Cold. The sweet potato fries were covered in cinnamon, which it didn't say on the menu, and my wife is not a fan of cinnamon. The waitress came by and my wife asked why there was cinnamon on the potatoes and she said they started doing that a few months ago and she forgets to mention that to people. When my wife said they were terrible, she said...I'm sorry and didn't offer any solution. $48 later and we left without eating our sandwiches. It was our first time, and last time eating there. I have been wanting to try this place and finally got around to it. I had a big group with me and wanted to sit outside. I had some of the party wait outside but the tables we wanted and I headed in, they quickly came inside and said a server told them the table was for their family and they weren't allowed to sit there but, the family wasn't present yet. The server then jerked the tables away from them and told them to go inside. When waiting to be sat, a server had said someone would be by and 15 mins had passed. When someone did come by they told us to sear ourselves. I was very annoyed on why the first server could not of told us himself. The server we had had us wait at the table for another 20 mins before grabbing drinks and another 20 mins before placing our order. The food did not come out all at once and 2 of my friends were waiting another 10 mins while everyone else had theirs. The food overall was great and I loved it. The calamari pieces were so small and tasted like old rubber bands, my daughters chicken tenders were burnt and we exchanged it for Mac n cheese, the Mac n cheese took so long to come out that we just had to have them put it in a to go box because we had already been there for an hour and a half. And the Mac n cheese was so bland it wasn't even worth waiting for! The wings weren't very good and the French dip was bland and tasteless as well and the au jus was just straight water. The server was nice but seemed to be very busy so we didn't really see her very much. The only good thing there was the fries. read more
