    Chipping Green! Neat!

Murphy Creek Golf Course is GORGEOUS! I stopped in this past weekend to snag some practice time at the driving range while the BF was in Colorado Springs playing a course with th guys. Here's the highlights: ++ The greens are well maintained! Heck, everything is well maintained! ++ There's tons of signage pointing you in the direction you need to go. ++ Incredibly friendly staff! ++ Well stocked pro-shop. ++ A mere $9 for a bucket of balls. Yay! ++ An awesome chipping green that has some great practice features for all skill levels. I can't wait to come back for another day at Murphy Creek Golf Course's range and to hit up the par 3!

What an awesome golf course!!! Thought the course was beautifully maintained with incredible views. Also super reasonably priced. Can't wait to go back

What a beautiful course situated in a serene area. It provides an escape from the city while also offering a well kept course to keep your game fresh. I took a few lessons from Leslie, head pro, and she was very patient and knowledgeable on how to teach a newbie. I've been here many times to watch my husband from the sidelines, but am excited to get out on the course more myself!

Great course with challenging shots, makes you plan ahead and think about the shot you take. Greens were extremely fast, very tough to read with multiple breaks within one putt. Nonexistent trees can lead to windy play as it did for us on the last 3 holes, the wind caused our shots to go anywhere the wind took them. Great value for the money on a quality course in aurora. Other courses around here might be a little cheaper but they don't offer the challenges that Murphy Creek does

Renting a golf bay is incredibly cost effective since the cost does not change based on how many people you have (you can have up to 8). And even though I called it a golf bay there are TONS of options to play. The food and drinks (which you can order through a QR code) are also great. We had some wings and they were delicious. Greens were medium in terms of speed but very smooth. Fairways were great and the rough was thick. This is my favorite flat course I have played. Tom Doak is an amazing golf course architect, and this is by far the cheapest course designed by him you'll find. Greens are wild. So many reveals when you get closer or go over a ridge. Number 3 is a great par 5 with a center line bunker that messes with your layup choices, and the punchbowl green is sweet. A couple of people I played with pulled their shots left and had some really tough chips coming in. Number 10 is a short par 4 that I would play differently next time. Very wide open on the left, more that you would think. Better angle into that green where trees guards the right side. I would not hit driver and go left, leaving a flip wedge in. Hole 11, a par 5, is my favorite. Didn't hit it well off the tee and ended up in that big cross bunker. Big mound short right of the green both kicks golf balls towards the middle of the green or propels balls over the right side of the green. Water is all up the left side is the hole. Great design. Absolute brutes from hole 14 to the finish. Fun track I'll try and play every time I'm in town. Very hard to get tee times, even during the week as a single. Driving range is huge and off grass. I immediately responded, "I'm sorry, we'll go faster." Instead of simply accepting that response or having a respectful conversation, Steve screamed back, told us to look at the people behind us and "golf faster," then drove away. I went to the clubhouse because I felt the interaction was unnecessarily rude and wanted to discuss it. What followed was one of the most disappointing customer service experiences I have ever had. During the conversation, three different men referred to me as "hysterical." Did I raise my voice? Yes. After repeatedly feeling dismissed, ignored, and talked over, I became upset. I also cried. Not because of golf, but because I felt like no one was listening to me and parts of the situation felt more like I was being mocked than heard. At one point, in front of my daughter, I asked Steve to stop walking away from me and have a face-to-face conversation. Rather than addressing the situation, he threatened to call the police. What makes this especially frustrating is that when Steve later spoke with my husband, my husband explained that we were not behind pace at all and that we were actually right on time. Steve agreed and admitted that he was wrong. In other words, the entire situation could have been avoided with a respectful conversation from the beginning. Steve then told us he hoped this would not leave a bad impression of the course and that he hoped we would come back. My husband's response was simple: it is unlikely. No child should have to watch their mother be treated that way for asking to be spoken to with basic kindness and respect. I am a new golfer and was excited to spend an evening on the course with my family. Instead, I left feeling humiliated and discouraged. I fully understand that course staff have a job to do and that pace-of-play conversations are sometimes necessary. What is not necessary is speaking disrespectfully to customers, dismissing their concerns, calling them "hysterical," threatening them, and then later admitting the complaint was unfounded. The golf itself was not the issue. The treatment we received was. Unfortunately, that is what our family will remember about this course.

I hadn't played a pitch and putt in a long, long time, and with barely any equipment required to play, this was definitely worth a visit. Only $1 per club rental, we each chose 1 club and 1 putter. Lots to choose from, so it took us some time to choose carefully. The 1 club + putter challenge we had made for a real fun round of golf, added a layer of thinking to a fun round. The golf was great. Super casual. We came mid day on a weekday, so it was not busy. We were allowed to bring some beverages (went to nearby Denver Brew Co), and had a lot of fun. Greens are surprisingly fast, especially downhill. Bunkers had legit sand, and there is even the threat of water. We bought a 6 pack of balls in the pro shop cuz they were only $5 (only needed one each), and bought a divot repair tool ($1) because we were planning on raining golf balls on all the greens. Lol. We had so much fun, we played a second 9. Joined up this time with a third, and he was a super fun hang. Good golfer too. All tee shots are off mats, which is expected. Wasn't a problem for us. It wasn't super busy, but pitch and putt is going to attract all manner of skill levels. We had a lot of time to kill, so we were prepared to wait and chill at each hole (back in the day I'd go to places where we could be 10-15 people deep at each tee box), but it moved fast today. That said, when we were leaving, we saw a group of 4 and 5, and most looked like beginners. I have another day in Denver, we may try and play another round. If not during this trip, then for sure the next time I come. Great fun!

So first things first - the pro shop is out back of the building and a tiny bit tricky to locate the first time around. There's a bag drop out front, but doesn't need to be there. Just take your clubs straight back. The staff member who checked us in was very friendly. There is a discount for Junior golfers, but no such deal for veterans. All in all it was $25 to play (total for two of us) and we were able to tee off on time. The course is is great condition, and it is clear that they have a staff that cares about presentation and course management. The winding lake in the middle only brings water into play on a couple of the holes. The rest are pretty straight shots, and nothing is out of reach for most golfers. I think the longest was just short of 200 yards. We had a great day, and even though we had to wait at a number of tee boxes, the whole round only took aboutj 90 minutes. There is a very fun looking restaurant right as you step off the ninth green that we definitely want to try at some point, but it was a work day, so raincheck on that one. The round was moving at an unbelievably slow pace, with groups stacked on every tee box and waits on nearly every shot. What made the experience worse was the complete lack of logical management from the marshal and head pro. Instead of actually addressing the bottleneck or helping improve flow, they spent more time trying to justify why a 5+ hour pace was somehow "normal." At one point, despite multiple open holes ahead and obvious spacing issues, I was told I couldn't play through because it would "mess up the order." That explanation made absolutely no sense considering the course was already severely backed up and groups were sitting idle on tee boxes anyway. Rather than using common sense and customer service, the staff seemed more focused on defending the dysfunction than fixing it. Golf is supposed to be enjoyable, but spending most of the day waiting while being lectured about pace-of-play policies that clearly were not working was incredibly frustrating. A marshal's job is to keep play moving, not explain away slow golf while doing nothing to improve it. The course itself has potential, but the on-course management completely ruined the experience. Until they learn how to manage pace of play with logic and flexibility instead of excuses, I would think twice before coming back.
