What a cute little find in the city of St. Clair. We had some time to hop around the area prior to a wedding nearby. The Murphy Inn is a historical site. We decided to grab a drink or two before heading out. I of course ordered my vodka/soda and my friend ordered a diet and coconut rum. He also decided to kick off our day with an Irish Car Bomb!!! We decided to order some food before hopping around to a few other places. The bartender suggested the sampler with came with potato skins, corn beef eggrolls, onion rings, and mozz sticks. We enjoyed the platter especially the corn beef eggrolls...those were legit. If you are in the area, stop and check it out.

Sorry, I started eating before snapping picture. As you can see, not a whole lot of cheese of all of the chips.

Five of us went to dinner. It's Monday, so it wasn't busy at all. We had a new waitress, she was good and attentive. She wasn't able to answer all questions but acknowledged it and and quickly got answers to questions. I had the "build your own" nachos. Pretty skimpy on the cheese and as the add on sour cream was ridiculously small for the add on price of $1.79. It was like a dab of butter. Chips were fresh. I've had better nachos there before. This time, I wouldn't recommend them to some one. Others at table had the Cajun Alfredo, larger portion but noodles were over cooked and mushy. Another order was baked macaroni and cheese. No complaints on that and the portion looked large and came with a house salad and home made bread. No complains on the Rueban sandwich or the onion rings. The shrimp was on the smaller size and a little over cooked. Again, waitstaff was good and friendly. Food was subpar for a Monday, been there before and had much better food.

This is a cute little place is St Clair. There is a lot of history behind this restaurant / inn. It had a nice feel when you enter. If you're in the area, worth the stop in. I went with the cheeseburger and it was okay. Not the best I've, but tasty nonetheless. It did have a good "charcoal/grill" flavor that I enjoyed. I should have asked for it to be cooked medium and I think it would have been perfect. The chips were so so, kind of the standard house made chips. My buddy went with the Italian sub and he said it was good. They also have a fun burger challenge that you may want to try if you're up to it.

I don't know what has changed but we got pizza the last few times and all the toppings are in the middle...ordered extra sauce, but doesn't seem to be on it... drove 20 minutes one way and very disappointed! Only posting because I want the issue resolved..we love Murphy's...please have the staff take pride in the product.

Murphy's isn't the best restaurant I've ever eaten at. The menu selection is varied and the food is moderately good. I do enjoy the atmosphere as we prefer to sit on the dining side instead of the bar side, which tends to get a bit noisy. We were disappointment the last time because my husband's dinner was completely cold, not just lukewarm, but cold. (Didn't the waitress notice this when she brought it to him??) He patiently waited for her to return it to the kitchen, while I finished my dinner in the meantime. By the time his dinner came back (warm this time), I was done, so I waited for him to eat. The pizza is ok, but not terrific. We like spinach and feta cheese on our pizza and Murphy's doesn't offer those items. The French onion soup has a bit too many croutons, leaving little broth and the cheese isn't hot and melty the way it should be. The salad dressings are standard issue, nothing spectacular. Like I said, not bad, but not fantastic either. I'd give them more stars if the food was a bit better and had more choices. I can't complain about the service though. It's always been good.

Quaint Victorian atmosphere in this moderately priced small town eatery. Pub side is very busy in the summer months.

Great place for food and drinks. Service can get slow sometimes (they have two sections), but the food is worth the wait.

If it's not the incredible service from staff it's the cleanliness of the facilities. This time I visited for my birthday weekend with my family we arrived to our hotel room we were experiencing some technical issues with our television our wonderful staff member Muka helped us remediate the issue within seconds. She escorted us to our new room which was immaculately clean in the residence. She explained everything based on the house layout the house was amazing with a beautiful view I highly suggest if you don't stay in one of the Waterview rooms I suggest one of the beautiful houses that adorn the property the view in the winter is gorgeous I can only imagine the summer I'm truly shocked by the reviews I have to say although we didn't try the restaurant and decided to explore around town this establishment is in a beautiful location not far from Port Huron the rooms are handicap accessible it's beautiful I have to say I highly recommend checking this out it's a great wedding venue as well there's parking on the street as well as in the parking lot and it has some great historical sites. Thank you so much to the staff especially MUKA for making my birthday weekend absolutely incredible I really appreciate it. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

Never received a discount or anything to offset how warm the room actually was. The finish/remodel was rushed so fast that the little things really showed. Painters tape still visible. Fit and finish is off. Just really bummer. I'd rather stay at River Crab up the street.

We were just there 3 full days July 2nd to the 5th 2026. No words are enough to describe the home…read moreand the new owners are incredible sweetest ever. They are 2nd year owners taking over from previous owners that ran it 35+ years. They are so very gracious and to think re-visiting where I grew up "was" going to do a 3 stay hotel in Marysville till I looked up the rates for the Heather and for over the major July 4th the room daily fee was a mere $42.00 more a night and included a no joke "Chef Gordon Ramsey" quality breakfast every morning. We got to see all the rooms being nobody was there yet for that day and it took a few days to see every detail. Pictures don't do enough so to see in person was a treat and every room is decorated it's own way. The place is really quiet also even when other people were around it's just really nice and we didn't hear anything the whole three days there just when people came down for breakfast. You get your own front door key to come and go as you please anytime the front door locks behind you. The A/C in the rooms are perfect and whisper quiet never heard such a quiet unit before no motel ones are like that. TV, internet, every room a bathroom some have a jacuzzi. Bed was high end and so were the sheets and pillows. Everything you need is there to use even a hair dryer on the wall. Lots of storage for clothes and other furniture to sit on besides a bed. Everything antique is just amazing and talk about super clean. Every room has it's own balcony and you can just look out and see the freighters going by in the St. Clair river. That coffee quality is something I never had before and asked them what they use and said we get in Port Huron specially made in a coffee house. Amazing inside that as well but the Heather owners are the best so being the previous owners were awesome for many years, these two young people have a huge reputation to uphold and they are doing just that. Can't say enough about them and the experience staying there. The breakfasts are 8:30 and we chose the front window table for 2 every morning full service facing the river they bring everything to you this is not buffet it's full service included in price. They have a real large table for multiple people to have breakfast also. NEVER had breakfasts like these before that good and so unique and every day is different not repeated. For the rates and what you get who needs a boring common motel that can cost this easily and more most of the time for each night and just maybe get a generic breakfast. The Heather B&B is a hidden treasure and been there so many years. Post this and share comments. People may think a historic B&B is high priced but search rooms by name and rates you'll find this is a bargain and very special.
