So disappointed today. One of our favorite restaurants. Not just the food but the service. Today was different. Waited at leave 15 minutes for water. Then another 15 for bread . Of course we placed our order right away Only to have the server come back and ask us 10 minutes later what we ordered. Truly crazy. He did everything, water , clearing dishes and dished plied up from clearing. Told the manager about our experience who seemed uninterested. read more

Food was subpar. Service and drinks were fantastic! The dynamite scallops were such a disappointment. It's like they halved bay scallops and encrusted the heck out of them to cover it up. The manager the absolute worst Karen I have ever come across in my entire life! She was rude, ugly and arrogant. I don't understand how someone like her can be in the hospitality industry. Beautiful spot next to the river. We dined there on Sunday afternoon, and had an amazing waitress who both accommodated food allergies while also being extremely kind as our family was grieving / celebrating a family member who passed away. If you're gonna have a restaurant with high end prices and are going into reconstruction to this extent you need to close down to get er done. This is not a remodel, its total reconstruction. It was not safe and it was not hygienic. When you pay $60 for dinner, you should not have to go to a port a party to wash your hands (with waste containers not clearly marked.) This was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had specific to the environment. This server was a doll; the food was excellent; the service was a little slow, but we were celebrating and she was allowing us some extra time. I have some mobility issues right now, and the weather was horrible yesterday. It was windy and rainy. They do not have the lot marked well. I got there 15 minutes before the restaurant opened. The restaurant would not answer the phone. I called the motel to find out where the actual entrance was while I was sitting in the parking lot a long with 4 or other people. The woman who took my call at the Inn was not particularly gracious either. She was more than a little curt. She gave me the information that I needed but she kind of made it sound like I should know what I was doing- that tent situation is a horror! we just got over on major health crisis here and I watched for 20 minutes while people ran food and equipment back-and-forth in the pouring rain with no gloves on, no masks, no protection whatsoever. I had read the recent reviews and since my friend was coming from 45 minutes away. I got there a little bit before her and the first thing I asked if they had a reduced menu. I looked up the website, I looked on FB... I did not see it mentioned that they had a limited menu. She said it was somewhere online but I did NOT find it... They had a paper menu with the current offerings. There was a decent selection but had they're not been the seafood options that I wanted, we would have left before we were even seated. For some reason or other, the first 3 groups that were seated were all shoved right next to one another at tables in the far right corner of the restaurant. I didn't understand that either. We were trying to have private conversations, and the people next to us could hear everything that we were talking about, and we could hear them. This is a big restaurant. I don't know why they would put people right on top of one another; If all 3 tables had the same server it would have made a little more sense to me but there were at least 2 different servers for the 3 tables! But my final comment and the bigger deal is. I'm a #GrievingMom. This was a very special dinner with someone who I had not seen in a while and who knew my daughter when she was alive. I'm not a big person and I don't eat much and I've been in poor health, so I left half of my $60 meal it had it put into a to go box. I don't know what happened to that box!!! We left the table. I'm sure I picked it up and somewhere between the table and the PortAPotty disaster, my $30 of left over food got lost. I was outside at the tent for at least 5 minutes waiting for my friend holding her stuff. If they'd found it or seen it (which they should have because there should have been people actually paying attention to the older people that were going out to the PortAPotties because that was not a good situation at all. It was wet and nasty and I could have slipped, but that didn't happen either.) But my food is gone and I really wanted to enjoy that today. All in all...not a great experience. I'm not mentioning the servers name cuz she was a DOLL! This was poor management 100%. I said up front, when I arrived I was a reviewer...clearly they didn't care. read more

I can't believe there aren't more reviews of this place. I was told it's been here many years. It was our first time here and for a Tuesday night it was quite busy. We were seated by the windows with a wonderful view of the Saint Clair river. Autumn was our server and she was very pleasant, always smiling and never kept us waiting. She did a great job. The place is clean and have outdoor seating as well, we opted for indoors. I had the mahi-mahi and carrot cake for dessert. Before coming make sure you bring a big wallet for it is pricey but worth the view. read more

WORST FOOD POISONING OF MY LIFE! Oh my lord.. where do I even start? They need to start cooking their dishes to temp for starters. I was there at 230 pm on a Wednesday, so it was not busy at all, and my Seafood Roll and Crab Cake dinner were both lukewarm at best. Something was a little off, thought it might just be the way they do things there. But about after 45 minutes while driving to the airport, I was blessed with the Wrath of the River Crab and things were coming out of both ends. Try flying with food poisoning. I painted the walls of the airport bathroom (from both ends) as well as an airplane restroom. Absolutely most embarrassing and awful travel experience of my life - and I've flown almost 1 million miles on delta alone. I'm also a Landry's member, and never had this much of an issue at any one of their restaurants. Oh, and thanks for the concerning next day callback you promised to make but never did. I ordered the fillet and My husband had a New York strip. Everything was a la carte. It came with yucky mashed potatoes and 3 hard salty asparagus We did get a bread basket. It had two tiny rolls and 3-4 hard crackers served with butter That went pretty fast because I was hungry waiting all day for dinner. They didn't refill just took the basket away. Gary had coffee and I stuck to water. The bill with tip was over $100. The worst dinner ever. Prices were too high for me. She could see the look on my face when she brought my meal. I had to ask her if that was the right meat because I have never seen a fillet that size. It looked more like a shrunken ribeye. I hosted a dinner function at the River Crab the night of 1/22 and needed to stay in Port Huron for the night so I chose the Blue Water Inn mostly for convenience. It's not the Ritz but for what it is, it's amazing. The rooms are reasonably clean and updated. The views are great but what sets this place a part is the people. When have you ever had a real person call you to confirm a hotel reservation??? But most importantly the same day I checked out, I received a phone call that I had left an expensive dental appliance in the bathroom of my room. They had very sweetly put it in the hotel office for me. Had I realized this mistake when I got home, I would have been devastated! The folks at the Blue Water Inn saved me with this simple act of kindness and customer service and for that they will always get my business read more

The inn was ok. Could use some upgrades not updates. The steps are in disrepair. You can't leave the curtains open and have privacy. Walkways are at the windows. Need a better design. The restaurant was exceptional. read more

My husband and I are avid freighter watchers and happily stumbled across The River Crab Blue Water Inn. We wound up staying 3 days! Friendly desk staff. Comfy Beds. Clean rooms. No funky smells. Most rooms have been renovated but not all (I don't think) so if that's important to you, you might want to mention it at check-in. They have a complimentary continental breakfast. We didn't try the restaurant while we were there but I wish we had, at least once (just for lunch maybe). They were ALWAYS busy. And they delivered food to the rooms (we noticed on our last night). I don't know if there was a charge or not. We will definitely be going back though! The only place to get a closer look at the freighters is Duluth, MN or the Soo Locks. read more

I didn't eat at the River Crab this time but I did stay at the Inn. This is my second time staying here and I would go out of my way to stay here again. Every room has a view of the St Clair River, although some rooms have better views than others. The rooms are spacious, very clean, and comfortable. The desk staff went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed, and answered all my questions about changes in the area, they even helped with other good restaurants, other that the River Crab which is excellent in its own right. I will stay here anytime I'm visiting this area. read more

Stayed in the hotel a while ago, it was a very nice hotel but what made it less than awesome for me was one of the maids. As she was going around cleaning rooms, I was sitting outside, and she stopped to talk to me and immediately started trash talking her coworkers! Not to mention her attitude in general was just surly. She was very unprofessional. She also seemed too old to be working as a maid. I believe her name was tony or something like that, I don't remember. I was just very appalled that she could be so unprofessional. Other than that though, it was a good stay. read more
