This is a nice park. The only drawback was that there were no public bathrooms. The playground is a mix of older and newer equipment. The park offers a very nice green grass area, a basketball court and tennis court, and several exercise stations scattered around the walk way that encompasses the perimeter of the park. There are drinking fountains, trash cans, and trash grabbers for those who feel the need to be productive. Dogs must remain on a leash at this park at all times. There's a good size parking lot available. read more

Great city park. Plenty of beaches and picnic tables to sit and rest and eat. Plenty of trash cans throughout the park as well. A variety of playground equipment. Jungle gym, rocking horses, swings, slides, monkey bars, tire swing, etc etc etc. Tennis, pickle ball, and basketball courts as well. Huge grassy area. Dogs are welcomed but must be leashed. Has a dog waste station with bags as well. Off in the corner there are hot coals only bin so appears you can bring a charcoal grill to use while here but they don't have one here. The only downside is no restroom here from what I could tell. read more

What a peaceful and clean park! This park has its own very small parking lot that is inaccessible Their are signs posted that say music & noise are prohibited. There are lots of big trees to provide shade around the picnic tables and playground. The playground is a good size, no other children around today making it rather quiet. You can hear the birds tweeting and see people walking around the the big grassy area with their dogs. Their is a sidewalk outlining the entire grassy area. It's a perfect place for a picnic! There are plenty of trash cans around the park although I did not see any bathrooms at this park or doggy clean up stations. The park definitely has some nice views and overlooks the 805 freeway. There are tennis courts as well. I will definitely be back with my toddler to ride bikes around the huge grassy area! read more

I like this park, it's listed as a Dog Park I would say it's more dog tolerated. I would not bring my dogs here if there were other people are other dogs. This is a nice place to bring kids play some tennis do some calisthenics there are a few shaded benches but for the most part it's direct sunlight very small parking area and it's backed up against a neighborhood so keep the volume down. I don't think this place has restrooms or water on the premises. read more

THIS IS NOT AN OFF LEASH DOG PARK. Every time I have come here my dog has been attacked by a dog off leash with incompetent owners who refuse to follow the law or think that they are above the law. I have a reactive dog and come to parks that specifically require leashes so that I may incorporate her and socialize her into the normality of real life but instead each time I come to this park she stepped back tenfold because people refuse to leash their dogs. I have reported the attacks to animal control and nothing has changed, beware. read more

I come here a lot to play soccer, and every visit there are a certain things I expect to see: 2-3 children playing on the playground, multiple people of all ages walking their dog around the park, and general peacefulness. It is very easily accessible, but there is limited parking. This is a well-kept and clean park, even though after rain, it becomes hard to play a safe game of soccer on the field. I'm surprised by how clean it is especially considering the potential for dog droppings. This is a great, simple park in which to stroll, exercise, or play! read more

This is our favorite park in the neighborhood! It's right next to the freeway and parking is never a problem. This park has tennis courts, a basketball court, a water fountain, playgrounds for big and little kids, a large grassy open field, exercise trail, and beautiful scenic views! What I like about this park. Usually the local neighborhood folks are the only ones who knows it exists. Why? Because its hidden in the Serra Mesa neighborhood where there are houses nearby. I like that. I'm one of those "local" folks. I come here to run or jog on occasion and most of the time its really quiet. I can think and nobody bothers me. The park is well kept. The grass is well manicured and green. The usual people I see are the neighbors walking their dogs, the elderly going out for their walk, a few mothers playing with their toddlers, and sometimes when I make the mistake of jogging in the afternoon, high school kids practicing their sport. It is a great park to play frisbee, fly a kite, and hold childhood birthday parties among other things. What is lacking with this place that I never had an issue with until today is that its the only park I have come across that does not have a bathroom. Took off a star for that. I brought my son here and after a few rounds of playing with his scooter around the park, he really needed to "go"! Poor child. I had to let him pee in a water bottle in the car so he can relieve himself. Yup. He sure did and throw that water bottle in the trash can...so loiters beware! Lol. As for the playground, it looks like everything is in good working order and it does need a slight minor upgrade but then again, I don't come to the park to play. read more

Did you really see a flying saucer at the park? Make no mistake, there were saucers here at Murray Ridge Neighborhood Park, but none of them were of the alien variety. The saucers I so speak of were of that of the frisbee variety and there were a whole lot of them this past weekend! Looks like there was an Ultimate Frisbee game going on, plus I was throwing a Kong one for my puppy Max to fetch. Whoa there, is this a dog park? No, not at all. In fact, there were actually a lot of dogs around, but only a few off leash. I think I only allowed Max to be off because he was so good there. He didn't bother anyone there. The minute he would of, he was going back on the leash! So, word of advice, if you're dog can't handle being off leash here, then keep them on leash! Oh yeah, if you do bring your dog, you better make sure you bring poop bags. Duh. There were a lot of kids around playing in the playground, which obviously if your dog is running around may make some parents and their kids anxious. However, lots of the kids were all about coming up to Max. The play area is very expansive and seems to be well taken cared of. I love how this park is tucked away and everyone seem to be having such a great time! I even got the chance to do my best impression of American Ninja Warrior on the monkey bars. That 'ish is not easy! I'm definitely going back to practice! I knocked a star off for lack of public bathroom. So, before you come, make sure you take care of business first. There are plenty of picnic tables, but I did not notice BBQ pits. read more

I took my kids to this park today. I would rate it a c+ . Here's why- Pros- Probably one of the nicest things is the large grassy area- great for games, soccer etc. It has a picnic tables in the shade. It has a playground for the kids, somewhat shaded. Nice path for walking and bike riding Cons- The playground equipment has be slightly upgraded but is still very old (including metal slides). The bark under the playground equipment is compacting (safety issue). The picnic tables while located under trees, are in the dirt. No bathrooms. It is located near the freeway so the noise is prominent. We'll probably go back, just not that often. read more

I come here mostly to run around the paved path or the grassy field, or to play basketball. The large open grassy area can accommodate most sports...it's pretty well kept, no areas of dead grass and all. There's also some pull up bars and other exercise stations along the path. I used to go here in the morning to run and shoot hoops a bit. The park is never too crowded and relatively peaceful, although it is right over the 805 freeway. I like going here a lot, and it is relatively convenient to get to from Mission Valley. read more

This is such a quiet, hidden neighborhood park. It has all the basics: small kids playground, huge grass area (all in full sun-- no shade), concrete pathways for walking with a few concrete benches, concrete picnic tables in the eucalyptus trees & dirt, plus 2 concrete container for hot coals. It also has freeway noise, but if you love nearby then you probably are a bit immune to it. Plenty of parking in a roundabout lot that closes from 10pm-sunrise, so no overnight parking here. Majorly missing is a public restroom! You can't stay here too long and I wouldn't want to host a get together here for that reason. I'd say this park is best for runners/walkers, dogs, and kids to play for a short time. Great views of East County & the mountains. read more

Murray Ridge is a very nice, very clean park from what I've seen the times I've been there. No graffiti, no weird people hanging out, a couple benches and tables, as well as a coal bin for hot coals after you're done grilling. The playground itself is more on the smaller side, as well as the parking. It might be difficult to park at the park if there's an even going on. I've only had to deal with this once, when there was a large group of people playing soccer. The grass/field side of the park is very big and very open. Great for things like that. However, there are only trees on the playground/benches side of the park. There is one tennis court, with no lights. So you can't play after dark, and if someone is already there, you'll have to wait. Which is a little inconvenient. There's also a basketball court right next to it, but with a fence separating it. The park is located at the top of a hill, with the edge fenced off. You get a great view of San Diego from here! West of the 805, and especially during sunset. The city looks beautiful. Overall, cool little local park. I primarily come here for tennis so I always have my fingers crossed nobody's there before me haha read more

Tucked away in a neighborhood with plenty of parking. Great for kids as it has an open grass space and a big playground area. Not a large park but just the right amount of space for the kids to run around while still being able to see the entire park as a parent from anywhere. In need of some dog bag stations as I noticed a fair amount of dog poop on the outskirts of the park perimeter in the brush. You can hear the freeway a bit but it didn't bother me. I took the dog on a Sunday around 10am and there was a few people there, not crowded in the least. Definitely a good place to for a quick walk with your dog (or to throw a ball or something if it's not busy) and a good place to take the kids for a couple hours. No restrooms are available, don't forget! read more
