I dislocated my shoulder, to the posterior, in a bad fall 3 months ago playing tennis of all things. It was my childhood sport that I have been fortunate to keep playing and competing at a high level as an adult. This injury has been difficult. I started with PT for a month once cleared but wasn't noticing too much gain in range of motion. I scoured the internet for quite a while trying to find someone who wasn't booked out until July and had the list of techniques I was looking for...active release, trigger point, deep tissue, sports massage. Somehow Chris popped up and the rest has been history. I've seen him 4 times now and prior to that, had very little progress. The 3rd appt - when he really started digging into my injured tissue, I left with an amazing increase in range of motion immediately that I had not experienced prior nor just with PT. He is incredibly knowledgeable in sports injuries vs the parts of the body affected specifically. He creates a relaxed atmosphere and is very passionate about what he does. He's definitely responsive to you setting up and following up on appointments. I am still going to him and will for a while as each time now, I'm finally feeling like I can take back my body with some hope of getting back on court soon. The massages are painful at times but that is to be expected and the only way I have had any luck in healing once the initial scar tissue set in. After weeks of high intensity interval training, my muscles were screaming and my flexibility and range of motion were sub par at most. That's when someone recommended Chris for some muscle stripping and a stretching massage. Having been a massage addict for years, I couldn't fathom what he would do differently. Let's just say I was more than pleasantly surprised! This guy knows his stuff. He found knots I didn't even know were there, taught me about muscle groups I didn't know existed, and helped me regain my range of motion. I couldn't believe it. Chris has provided me many massages over the past couple of years. From excellent post-exercise massages to relaxing spa-like massages he adjusts to whatever I need at that time. He goes the extra mile to identify and curtail my massage around areas that cause me pain. I have recurring back and hip pain and he does a great job working out some of the knots that others haven't been able to move. He helps me stay mobile and my muscles working pain free. Chris is awesome. He asks where and what hurts, then shows you on a diagram what is likely hurting you and explains what he will do to help relieve the pain. I absolutely loved my massage. The best part was after he finished the massage he was streching my neck and when he did that my entire spine popped. An added bonus to the massage session! I went for a 90 minute massage with Chris tonight. I have had firm massages before but Chris really put the pressure on and it felt good. I could tell him when the pressure was reaching capacity and he would listen. Chris has many different techniques that he can use to ensure each client is receiving the best service for them.
