I've had a handful of foot reflexology massages but this was more than I expected. I called the day before to make an appointment and had no trouble getting two spots for 11am on a Wednesday. The price is $30 for 60 minutes which includes foot reflexology and body massage. This is all Asian style - fully clothed and in a community room (lights are dimmed and there's music playing in background). First, he brought some warm water to soak my feet and had me lay down on the massage table (it was lower to the ground). (I'm used to more of a chair setup). He massaged my head, neck and arms first. Then he moved to the foot reflexology part which was my favorite (he did legs here too). Then he had me turn over and massaged my back. Definitely feeling a little sore from the massage - just need to drink a lot of water. $30+tip for an hour massage is totally worth it. I brought my friend along and she'd never had a massage before. I had a massage here and was so incredibly uncomfortable... I should have got up and walked out. I strongly believe something not okay is happening here. I was in large room with many for a massage then moved to smaller room where the man kept pulling my underwear down below my comfort level and I continued to pull them up only for them to be pulled back down. 1st time I went it was amazing, the guy did a great job and I tipped him well (35%). 2nd time I went, I had a woman. In the middle of my massage, she asked if I wanted to upgrade to 90mins. I told her no. She was nothing compared to the guy who massage me the 1st time. She seem lazy and was trying to get it over with. She emphasize more on my right than my left when she was giving me the massage. After it was all done, I went to pay. The lady who massage me came out speaking to the guy at the counter saying I didn't tip. I told them I left it on the table and I tipped about 30%. Looking back I regret tipping at all since that massage was mediocre at best. The reason for the 3 stars is because of the 1st guy, he was good and was well deserving of that tip. I have been getting massages for about 10 years and this place was just as good as the best massage places I've ever been too. To start, when the phone was answered, the lady spoke English! Wow! Amazing. They had room so I went right in. Their prices were easily displayed and they even had an area right up front for easy back massages. I chose my massage and she lead me to a quite room that was for my type of massage. They also had several rooms for private & couples massages. My therapist was Lisa & she was the best female therapist I have ever had. Firm without being to hard. Pretty much perfect. Light music was playing and everything seemed clean and modern. I have been here twice and both times asked for a deep tissue full body massage. Both times they were able to get me in with a same day appointment with relatively short notice. I had a different massage therapist, both male, for each appointment and both did a great job. I have a lot of muscle tension in my neck and shoulders and they always use the right amount of deep pressure to work out all the knots. I leave feeling noticeably better as far as tension in my back and neck. I will definitely be back! read more

Andy worked wonders on my neck and shoulders - again, if you like the hoopla of a dainty spa experience, DO NOT GO HERE. If you want to quickly target some pesky neck/shoulder/back tension, knots, aches and pain - you will be in absolute bliss after you walk out. Bought a Groupon for my boyfriends birthday, we both wanted to get foot massages. Complete polar opposite experiences! My boyfriend got a lady who was super gentle with his feet, he said he loved it! I - on the other hand - had one of the most painful experiences of my life. The guy was sooo rough with my feet, I was literally wincing with pain the entire time. He kept popping my toes, at least 6 times each toe! At one point he picked up my foot and just started punching the soles of my feet with his fist! He kept slapping my feet really hard from side to side as well. He was grinding his knuckles so hard into the arches of my feet that they were literally bruised and swollen when I got home, and I was walking with a limp out the door because of a shooting pain in my arch. Once the foot massage was done, he put all his body weight on my knees and pushed them down into the massage bed - I thought he was going to dislocate them. Then he straddled me and tried to do the same thing with my hips until I had to grab his arms and stopped him. I don't know the purpose of why he was doing that, but it didn't feel good at all. Maybe I just got an employee that was unsure of how to do foot massages... but it felt terrible and I was in constant pain the entire time. I'm only leaving 3 stars because my bf had an amazing experience. read more

I have gone to Q Massage several times in the past few years. I always get the 30 dollar special, 1 hour body and reflexology in a community room. I have always been happy with the service. Today my regular massage got canceled and I was in the area so I decided to stop in. I love that you can just walk in. It still shows the 30 dollar special on the window so cool, right? When I get inside however it's 35. The tried to upgrade me to 90 minutes which I didn't have time for. When I got in the room she asked if I wanted more body or more reflexology and I said feet. Oh, now it's 40 dollars, then she mentioned something else, now it's 45. I said what I really want is the 30 dollar special like it says on the window, which she said was no longer available, I suggested they change the sign. Finally I convinced her that the 35 deal was as far as I was going to go. I felt like it was some sort of bait and switch scam going on. When I went to pay I noticed a sign about their punch cards now only being for a 30 minute massage, it used to be 1 hour after 10 punches, so I pulled mine out, guess what they don't do that anymore either. All that being said my massage was great, always is. I tip well because they deserve it. I just think they need to post honest information and not try so hard to upsale you. read more

I'm going to give the good, the bad, and the ugly. Let us begin. The massage: truly awesome. The guy really put his elbows in, going above and beyond what I expected. It was relaxing, while at the same time aggressive enough to relieve some of my tougher knots. Kudos to him. The soak: you place your feet in hot medicinal water for 15 minutes. Not much to say about this The business: this is where my stars go down. We used a Groupon for the 15 minute soak and 45 minute massage. The front desk gentleman continuously heckled us to add more services to our Groupon. We denied all 5 offers of upgrading. Upon leaving the massage room, a young female approached me and offered me water and specifically said "Do you have a tip for him". I absolutely hate being asked for a tip, especially when I have just emerged from my service and have barely grabbed my coat and purse. I was almost inclined not to tip him because of her, however he did such a good job that I couldn't possibly blame him for the bad business practices at this location. Awesome little spot, hidden in North KC! I have been coming here for the past few months and grabbing an hour each session with Amy. She is awesome at relieving both stress and muscle pain. Really helps to loosen everything up and provides a great experience. She totally knows how to work through knots and pain points without causing discomfort and leaves me in a totally relaxed state after each session. I upped my normal to 90 minutes yesterday, and I think that may become the new norm, as it was absolutely amazing. The fact that it is hidden in a strip mall is kind of cool. My friend and I went for foot reflexology which I have had other places and loved. But at Q Massage nothing about the foot reflexology was reflexology! It was nothing but the same up and down motion HARD and with knuckles. She came in hard and fast and in the end left my foot hurting and swollen. I expressed that it was painful and my foot even twitched away from her due to the pain and she just continued with the same motion. BE WARNED!!! Do NOT go here. If I could leave zero stars I would. the person massaging me pulled my underwear all the way down my butt which made me very uncomfortable. He then climbed on top of me straddling and had his privates resting on my head. He proceeded to massage down my back strokes to my butt and put in hands in my butt cheeks and on the strokes up he was grabbing my breasts. He did this a few times crossing the line further each time. I finally said stop and he said so sorry so sorry I just do your legs and I put these pants back on you and I said no stop I am done. My husband was in the next room. I grabbed him and complained to whoever was working the front desk. They said sorry he will be fired and here's a free gift card. I stumble and found this place on Groupon. The deal sounds reasonable for a massage. When you are scheduling an appointment, you should mention that you have a groupon so they can accept it and usually they schedule you during the weekdays where it is less busy than the weekends. Once you arrived for your appointment, they would upsell you to get the full massage for 60 mins with the 15 mins soak, instead of the 45 mins massage and 15 mins soak. Which I have opted for, which gave me extra time to massage my concerns. I am glad they had a private room away from the others because it was busy at the time and there was a group of people in the open area. I didn't like to be with others too. The massage is very hands on and dress to your comfort. Not a typical massage. They massage everywhere but if you let them know where you would like to focus on they will. It was all right in my opinion. I felt relief in my neck and shoulder and was relax throughout the process. I just didn't like how guy kept coughing, sneezing and sniffing like he was sick. But I very much had to take a hot shower right after so I didn't get sick once I got home. read more
