Muse paint bar was a whole vibe! I'm glad I decided to try it out. A friend came into town to visit me and this was p great way to do something fun and connect! I will say, I did not expect to "actually " paint, starting on a blank canvas. But I made it happen! The interior was beautiful with different colors, paintings hung that invites an artistic expression. The instructor was WONDERFUL because my painting actually looks like something . He explained what to do in depth and offered alternative methods for the challenged, like myself. There is a small bar that offers mimosas etc. kind of disappointed it was not included in the price to register even though the event was called sip n paint. I had a wonderful time at muse paint bar! My boyfriend and I went to celebrate our anniversary and it was so fun. All of the staff is friendly and welcoming. Our artist instructor was Lynise. She was very sweet and had great energy with the crowd. We painted a forest of cherry blossoms and it turned out great. Towards the end of the class things did feel a tiny bit rushed but I am a slower painter and was taking my time lol. Lynise did give a little extra time at the end of the class to finish & dry our paintings, and walked around to give people tips for finishing touches. Parris was the other artist assisting us on the floor. He was helpful as well. The paint bar has a full cocktail menu and lite bites that were very tasty. We had the boneless wings (aka chicken nuggets) and they were juicy. Between both painting studios there is a large glass wall so I enjoyed being able to see what the other class was painting as well. This is a great activity to do on a Saturday with good weather. We walked around the national harbor afterwards and had lunch at Grace's mandarin, which I highly recommend. Overall we had a wonderful experience. 10/10 read more

It started off a little rocky but quickly turned into a great night. When we arrived there was no one there to greet us or tell us where to sit. Once the young lady decided to acknowledge us she said "just find your name yourself"..well ok. But the bartender was great, food was good, the energy at our table was fun and Jonathan was a good energetic teacher. I go to a lot of paint and sips in my home town and I know toward the end it can get a little tight with time but the teacher shouldn't mention how many more classes you have after and we have to "speed it up."I pay for my experience and I want dedicated time. My daughter and I had a great time at muse paint bar yesterday. We choose the National harbor location which is a nice area. We were not celebrating anything special just a mommy and me day I suppose. We arrived a few minutes early, we were greeted when we came in , asked our name to pull our reservation the asked to stand to the side. Then we were taken to the red room for our painting and shown our seats. We were seated at the high chairs, I didn't complain however I would have preferred standard seating with a lil back rest. We tried to use the QR code to order food and drinks but the service was terrible towards the back where the red room was located and I do not like to access public Wi-Fi . The instruction and her assistant was super nice. We went to the bar to place our order and the bar staff was super nice. We ordered 2 sodas , pepperoni flat bread pizza and mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella sticks were not good at all. All in all we enjoyed the memories made. The music while we painted the instructor and her assistants energy. Our group of 4 had a fantastic session with Nico. He was patient, clear with his explanations, a great artist, and did I mention patient? He helped my tween daughter make her canvas into a painting she was really proud of. He met each of us at the level we needed to be guided through, and was great with adjusting the volume of the music and repeating instructions when needed. SO PATIENT. The food and drinks menu is great but post-valentine's day selection was limited. Would definitely recommend this activity to visitors at National Harbor, and especially Nico! He was awesome. I really enjoyed the painting class at Muse. My friend and I made a last-minute reservation that we booked online. We went to the area early, which I suggest because there's a ton of bars/restaurants where you can grab food beforehand. We parked in the garage right next to Muse with no issues. When we arrived, we were greeted and checked in by our instructor, who was really nice. They have a bar where you can order drinks and snacks, so we purchased a couple of cocktails/mocktails while we waited for class to start. The space is really pretty and was already set-up for the class. I love that they were playing some good music in the background - it helped me tap into my artistic mode lol. Once class started, it was no joke. The pace is pretty fast, so you have to pay attention to keep up. It was helpful to have the teacher painting along with us though. Had reservations for a special Friday evening painting. Each session is 2 hours. There are multiple paint rooms. We were placed in the main room, as soon as you walk in - with the bar Our names were placed on the canvas so no guessing where to sit. Each table was situated with 4 canvases. Some tables were higher than other. Paint instructor was Paris and he was talented, funny and loveable. We were supplied with paint colors, apron, brushes, water, paper towels. etc. everything needed to paint and stay clean. Bar consisted of wines/beers/ and limited cocktails. You could order at the bar or thru the website and have food brought to your table. Each glass of wine was $9. Food was very basic snack foods. I had mozzarella sticks (1/5) and my friend has "chicken wings" were were like microwaved chicken bites (2/5). The strawberry margarita was good There is a parking garage right behind the building. Okay, so the drinks and greasy snacks are basic and we paid waaay too much for a pumpkin latte that was essentially made on a Keurig, but the painting experience with my spouse was rewarding. This was my second time at a Muse Paint Bar. The first was a very crowded birthday party and this time, I was on a date. We went on a weekend morning, which is apparently a great time to go on a date if you are adverse to crowds. Only two other couples were there. The artist instructor went at a nice pace for us to follow along. My only real complaint is that the music was so loud so much of the time -I think the instructor kept forgetting to turn it down- that it was hard to hear him. Decided to do a Sunday noon class and it was great! There were about 7 of us who showed for this class. They advise you to arrive 30 minutes before to get settled and grab a drink. They have a decent drink menu and I believe they serve food as well. The class started right on time. We had a great instructor too! They walk you through all of the painting steps and the instructors will walk around and help. If you do try a class, be creative with the colors you're given. Step outside the box and have fun!! This location is right at National Harbor so you can definitely grab a bite to eat before or after you paint. Plenty of restaurants and plenty of parking. I had the pleasure of finally visiting Muse this past Saturday, although this art studio is in my backyard. My friend decided to have her sip and paint birthday gathering there. She reserved seats in the common area so we could share the experience without bothering others with our foolery. The studio opened its doors at 3:15 for patrons to get settled and buy drinks & lite bites before the session started at 3:45. Bad weather and parking restrictions due to the MAGfest (Music and Gaming Festival) delayed my arrival. I arrived at 3:50 and our instructor Jordan had just begun. I quickly grabbed an apron and got started. No time to get settled, visualize, or sketch an outline of the objects on the canvas. Moral of the story, arrive early!!! Music was playing and Jordan was moving rapidly through the steps of creating our Magical View masterpiece. My friends helped themselves to additional paint and Jordan came over to help me a couple times when I got stuck. Our admission didn't include wine, but I didn't have time to go to the bar anyway because I was trying hard to complete the painting during the session. Instruction ended at 5:30pm, but a few of us continued to work. At 6pm, it was time to go. Unfortunately, it was pouring down raining and the studio didn't have any bags or paper to protect our paintings. I flipped it over and hoped for the best. I went on a Saturday afternoon and arrived early to park (garage or street available) and take in set up. Upon arrival, there's a quick check-in and you are shown to your table. The seats are assigned, which I will admit I wasn't in love with. I ended up being in a spot where my back was to the instructor. It was okay because we would watch her before attempting each phase of the painting. I was seated with my guest, so that was a plus. You are provided a Muse apron, brushes, a small palette of paint, and your canvas. As it was a Saturday, the session was full but overall I could hear and felt I had enough space. The actual painting was fun and makes you appreciate the details even in what appears to be the simplest of paintings! Those skylines are multi-dimensional, y'all! I'm glad they serve drinks and food, but the food should totally be skipped. They have the updated order and pay on your phone system. Cool and organized. However, eat before you come! I don't expect that I will learn to be Van Gogh, but the vibe was more 'be happy, have fun' when at least half my group could have used a few more tips and guidance. The process of reserving is super simple and through their website, you can also pick an option to sign up to sit with your friends when you pay for your ticket. They also have really great painting options which i appreciated. Not the typical landscape, sky art that we usually always see. The class was pretty good, our instructor seemed very knowledgeable and walked us through the whole process. To order food and drinks, you order through their online menu and it comes to you within 10 minutes. I tried the strawberry margarita which was really good and strong. The hot honey cheese pizza definitely tasted like heated up frozen food. Parking can get expensive, there are several garages and lots near by but for 2-3 hours it can cost $15-20. The instructor was very patient and guided you the 'tricks' on how create a great painting of your pet with five basic colors. It was a lot of mixing, gradients, and different tone of colors. I think that the concept is excellent. I have attended lots of sessions in the Assembly Mall in MA location. I also used the one in Lynnfield MA. The one in Lynnfield went out of business. However, the one in Assembly Mall kept going and the only thing that I didn't like was the greedy of the owner. Why to create so many rooms and sessions in the same day? The rooms are crowded and it feels like you need oxygen specially if you are working in one of those rooms in the back. Also the size of the canvas was reduced. ... mmm no ... I loved Muse Paintbar at National Harbor! It was my first time and I was super nervous! Jordan was our guide! I loved that he mentioned he works for PG County public schools because he was very patient with us. He took time to go around and give ideas as he checked art work. He repeated himself many times. There was another lady that went around making sure everyone was comfortable, took pictures for our birthday shindig and assured us we were doing well. The music was on point. They played many throwbacks which helped loosen us up. Our paintings came out better than we thought. I enjoy looking at mine hanging up in my room. The only thing was that we were close to the door and it was very windy today. The wind knocked down a lot of the canvases. I'm grateful for no paint splattering on my clothes. However, all in all we had a good experience! The food was pretty good. I ordered the spinach and feta triangles. It seemed to be more spinach than feta but still ok. Mozzarella sticks were great. I also enjoyed the chicken fingers. All were great apps. Nothing to rave about but fed my appetite. Drinks are too expensive to be served in a cup. $10.50 for prosseco and $8.50 for moscato??? This is such a cute idea and a fabulous concept! Have an instructor led painting class to paint a designated piece of art on canvas or stemware - all while you're sipping on wine and nibbling on food. Genius!! You don't have to have any prior experience painting, nor are you expected to be Pablo Picasso. You are expected to have fun, not take your painting too seriously, and if at any time you feel overwhelmed, go to the bar! I've been to a Sip & Paint before, but not at a studio specifically designed for it. My cousin set up a private party for 25 of us and we had a fabulous time. They truly accommodate private parties because you can bring in catered/outside food and beverages (non-alcoholic), cakes, decorations and/or party favors for your guests to enjoy during the paint party. You can order off the menu for some small food items and they of course offer wine to sip on while you paint. How's that for some liquid courage! You don't necessarily have to set-up a private event to attend a class, they have walk-in sessions as well, but I would suggest going online to find out all of the logistics. Our instructor, Jordan, was extremely patient with us and did an awesome job assisting us to bring out our inner Van Gogh. Since you do have a timeframe to be in the class, the instructor did take his time, but had to press forward to make sure he showed us the entire design of the painting. Never painted before? Don't feel intimidated, the instructor is there to guide you through painting your portrait, but it's up to you to create your own interpretation of it. Relax and know that their isn't a wrong way to paint - just enjoy the experience. Beautiful canvas paintings covers the walls throughout the entire studio, even the two unisex restrooms. Muse provides the paint, brushes, canvas, smocks to protect your clothing - the only thing you need to bring is yourself and a positive attitude. Plenty of parking can be found in the parking garage behind the studio. If you're looking for an interesting place to celebrate your birthday, bachelorette party, team building exercise, date night or a family outing, this is the perfect place. I enjoyed myself so much, I've already scheduled another private party for next month. The purpose is to have fun and perhaps step out of your comfort zone and try something a bit different. I frequent Muse because the location is convenient for me. Most instructors are very good with helping beginner painters.. I thought it was common practice for instructors to actually instruct the class on HOW to paint the picture and get the desired outcome of the painting, even if it's your first time painting. Every instructor I've ever had, explained techniques, how to hold your brush, how much paint to pick up, where to place the paint, etc. but unfortunately I visited last night for my mom's birthday and the instruction was underwhelming. It was frustrating actually to consistently be told "like this". I'm used to painting, so I sort of understand how to paint to get my desired outcome. The rest of my party was not and they were very unhappy. To keep it simple, muse is pricey - food and drinks are not included in your booking and you can't bring your own. The food is God awful (I understand they are not a restaurant) but the drinks are good! The vibe here is great though. Checked this place out while in the area. It was fun and a good way to spend the afternoon since it was kind of chilly out at the Harbor. The space was comfortable and spacious. The instructor was helpful and easy to follow. She kept a good pace throughout. The food and drinks were mediocre at best. Just your regular bar eats nothing major and they were out of the item we ordered but they offered something else. I would attend again. By far my favourite paint and sip place. What I like about this place is how they can make a complexe painting easy and they often have groupons and deals available. I've been to other places where I would paint more simple things like a shoe or a beach which left my painting look like it was undone or too simplistic. This place makes me feel like I'm an expert. The more I go. .. the better I get. They start on time, explain well and help you along the way. Very professional and clean. I also love that you can reserve by creating a group to make sure you and your friends/family are seated together. Once you get there, your places are already reserved so you dont need to rush to get there 45min before the event to reserve seats. Also... there are no bad seats in this place.
