Unfortunately we arrived 90 minutes before closing and did not have time to see the movies or fully engage with many of the exhibits. Very nice restaurant as well

This is a wonderful museum, family-friendly and a must see for anyone interested in energy,…read moresustainability and transportation. We stopped by unexpectedly after our hiking plans were rained out, and were very glad we did! We got discounted tickets with our Swiss travel pass and decided to check out the main museum. We spent most of our time in the energy, train, and car sections of the museum. For a weekday afternoon near closing time, it was not crowded at all so we were able to see everything we wanted. Some of the highlights are the various railroad cars - it was so interesting to see how the appearances differed across centuries! The huge model trainset would be a lot of fun for kids. We were also struck by the wide selection of cars across centuries, and the machinery that brings them up and down so you can see them more closely. The simulation experiences are really cool for all ages, we learned a lot about the different forces at play during the crash test. The museum of mirrors was also a hit - it was so much fun trying to figure out what is mirror and what is not. All in all a great experience, I only wish we could have spent longer there before it closed to check out more of the ships and aviation sections of the museum. It is a delight for all ages and very educational.

This is one of the coolest things I've done in Switzerland so far. We arrived on Swiss National Day…read more(how fitting) at about 3PM. It closes at 5:30 and costs 28CHF... and it was still AMAZING! Imagine how epic it would have been if we actually got there in the morning!??!?! This open-air museum can entertain you over multiple days. There are so many things to do and learn and see that it's a bit overwhelming. It's also just nice to walk through the trails and admire the houses from afar! There are many animals and lots of different tours in the houses going on throughout the day. Unfortunately we missed all of them coming so late, but we still had an amazing time. The food options seem to be limited... but we also came when everything was closing, so that was definitely our bad. I would absolutely suggest this to anyone visiting, or anyone living in Switzerland. It has something for everyone and I will certainly be back because I only experienced a very small portion of the fantastic open air museum!

Absolutely wonderful museum, we've been twice (2018 + 2019)! Come early and plan to eat breakfast +…read morelunch here. Entry is free with the Swiss Travel Pass and it is on the bus line. You can't really see all the buildings in one day so either plan a return trip (like we did) or do your research first and see the high points. Food is good and there are vegetarian options. If you are a fan of architecture/history/gardens then you will be in heaven. Our kids (12 & 14) really enjoyed it and there was regular spaced concessions so they wouldn't get "hangery". Loads of signage explaining everything, gardens everywhere, farm animals to be seen! You get to walk inside almost every building! Meet local Swiss docents doing traditional crafts (cheese, woodworking, rope making, pottery, baskets) there really is something for everyone! And there are opportunities to purchase crafts as well as food stuffs. Buy the guidebook and bring it home, read it cover to cover then go back again!

In fact it was probably one of the worst spaghettis I've had. I would only get it if I was absolutely starving from a long hike which I was. The waiter in the end asked for an additional tip while his service was poor and service fees are already included in the cost of the meals. Overall, I had a poor experience here and had terrible food. I do not recommend coming here.

There is interesting information on the film, the actors, actresses and the Olympic winning stuntmen that did the skiing. There is information on how the movie being shot here changed the area which was interesting. There were non-interactive and interactive exhibitions. The most fun being the helicopter simulator tour, the put yourself in the movie silly photos and the film your own bobsled he race - we did the fight scene and the film is very silly! I was dubious but it was good fun and useful to have something to do when waiting for the cloud to clear or for the coach load of tourists to move on
