I had an Excellent experience with Ellie. I thought the illusions were so much fun! The cake was incredible; it was definitely one of my favorite parts of the exhibit. This is especially good for people who like to pose for pictures or those of us who like to challenge ourselves to like the process. We (the photographer and I) had the entire place to ourselves, so we took a stroll around. I could see that if there were more people, we'd have to be strategic about where to start. Once inside we paid at a tiny kiosk then they takes you to the entrance. Once inside the museum you wait in a theatre for your guide collect you and to explain the art and take pictures for you. You will be given special sockets to wear as to not damage the art on the floor. The museum takes the top floor of the building. Amazing what you see through the lens of your camera. The building use to be a cinema and has been converted to a museum, Well worth a visit. The artist use to live in Playa Del Carmen, now lives in Italy. It's hard to explain it's a must see on your bucket list. To see the illusions through the lens of your camera or smartphone. We were there when the museum first opened so we had the whole place to ourselves.

This whole trip bright tears to my eyes. Even now, sitting at home I'm stuck with just how magical this place is. There are many Mayan buildings and they are still excavating and restoring. They are just amazing. We got to hug a Tree of Life Tree. We got to see wild orchids. There were two dogs that apparently live there and seem happy and not wild. My favorite part was the tour conducted by Melissa who happens to also be a great artist herself. She did an amazing job of engaging us in a historical perspective of Frida, her works and her life. She made history come to life. People who did not do the tour rushed through the exhibits and left quickly. Instead, we had a tour that lasted about 1 hour followed by time on our own to revisit or explore parts that we did not stop at during the tour. This is not Casa Azul in Mexico City but it was worth my time and money.

I would suggest any and everyone traveling close to Yucatán visit this site. Our visit to Cenote was the first stop of a bus tour. We were greeted by a shaman who blessed and prayed over our entire group. We purchased a few souvenirs and then dined on some amazing food at the outdoor restaurant and enjoyed a little show while we ate. We then walked the grounds to explore and learn more about the Mayans. The Cenote was truly an astonishing sight. While I didn't get to take a dip in the water, just standing inside this amazing wonder was super breathtaking! I've seen pictures of cenotes, but never imagined in my wildest dreams that I would be standing inside of one. After visiting the cenote, we headed over to the tequila tasting! Literally each and every tequila we tasted was smooth and quite delicious! I ended up purchasing four bottles of flavored tequila, which I cannot wait to share with my friends back in the states.

I believe Chichen Itza is a one of the new seven wonders of the world because it's among the best-preserved and largest archaeological sites in the world. It's also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I'm still glad I got the opportunity to visit Chichen Itza. So much history! The culture of the Mayans; their way of life, the ingenuity and the science are fascinating and amazing. Be prepared to experience some tropical heat. I recommend going as early as you can to avoid crowds and the heat. It gets hot under the glaring Sun. There is no shade around the main Pyramid. A good guide or a tour company also is very helpful. I found the history provided by our tour company to be very inspiring, insightful and interesting, yet sad at the same time. A "must see" if you find yourself in Playa del Carmen. We…read morehad a few hours to sight-see on the island and we found this little gem of a Gallery in a shady alleyway courtyard. The staff were very professional and helpful. I loved one painting so much and was allowed to take a photo. Well after we left, I could not get this painting out of my mind. I lost the card she gave me, but easily found them on Facebook. We communicated via FB Messenger and a few weeks later our painting arrived. Could not ask for better.
