We brought our 2-year-old Rottweiler to Little Paws for a spay consultation. Because she has had a…read moreheart murmur since she was a puppy, the veterinarian appropriately advised that she would not be sedated without first having an echocardiogram. We appreciated that level of caution. We were told a mobile echocardiogram service could be scheduled through their office for $660, which we agreed to. Our appointment window was scheduled between 9:00-11:00 a.m., and we were instructed to drop our dog off at 8:00 a.m. Unfortunately, the mobile echocardiogram veterinarian did not arrive until approximately 1:00 p.m., meaning our dog was kenneled for several unnecessary hours. After the echocardiogram, we were told our dog had mitral valve insufficiency and were advised to seek clearance from a cardiologist prior to anesthesia. We scheduled a consultation with a cardiologist, who expressed concern that this diagnosis would be highly unusual for a 2-year-old Rottweiler. Although we had just paid for an echocardiogram, she recommended repeating the study. She also mentioned she had encountered prior cases in which reports from this same mobile provider were inaccurate. The repeat echocardiogram revealed a completely different diagnosis: subaortic stenosis -- not mitral valve insufficiency. When we contacted Little Paws to discuss this discrepancy, we were told that "this is just how it works" and that different providers may "see different things." We found this response dismissive and concerning. While minor interpretation differences can occur, a completely different cardiac diagnosis significantly impacts medical management, anesthesia planning, and long-term prognosis. We understand that medicine is not always black and white; however, we feel strongly that complex cardiac diagnostics should be referred directly to a board-certified cardiologist if they are going to offer in-house mobile echocardiograms without ensuring diagnostic accuracy. It has raised serious concerns and resulted in unnecessary expense, stress, and delay in proper care for our dog. We will no longer be getting our dog spayed there and would not recommend Little Paws to friends or family.

If I could give 1 Million stars, I would!!!…read more This review is long overdue! Backstory: one of my dogs woke up on a Friday unable to open his eye, which quickly turned into an infection and I spent 2 days trying to find a vet / urgent care to take him to near my home in North Hollywood. Every hospital in LA that I called, I was either met with an immediate "hello, please hold" (for 20 minutes), capacity already met, an absurd wait time with no promise of being seen, or unsympathetic staff saying "an eye infection is not an emergency". I called SC Animal Urgent Care & Wellness Center at 7:08pm on a SUNDAY, arrived at 7:45pm and was seen by Dr. Mousa by 7:55pm! From the second the receptionist answered the phone, I knew I was in good hands. She was extremely compassionate & quickly took my information, along with my dogs symptoms and told me to come right in to be seen by Dr. Mousa. Dr. Mousa is a GOD SEND!!! I am so blessed to have found him. Dr. Mousa examined & handled my dog with so much care and explained that he had an corneal ulcer which was quickly deteriorating his cornea and that if I had not brought him in immediately, he would have lost his eye (which was still a possibility at that point due to the 2 day wait trying to find a vet/hospital). Dr. Mousa's urgency along with his care, compassion and knowledge is the type of service you expect and deserve when you go to a hospital concerned, stressed and scared for your dog. Lexi (vet assistant) is phenomenal & so sweet!!! Lexi treated my dog like he was her own and she explained every step of what was happening and why, then what would be next. She even shared a story about her cat with me to show how she related to me in that moment. They are an amazing team and will give your pets the best car!

Dr. Musa treated my baby Boy Travis so kindly and had so much incredible information that I hadn't been receiving from my own Vet. My dog, Travis was diagnosed with Pancreatitis. To make a very long and stressful story short, I was considering having to put my boy down. Dr. Musa had a treatment plan in less than ten minutes. Explained it thoroughly and he just stayed and talked us through everything. He even stayed around and talked about Travis's brother, who came with us. He truly cares about his patients and their owners, which I was not expecting. I feel as if we're always rushed and never heard. Dr. Musa, his nurse and all of the staff were are genuinely awesome people and I am so grateful to have met them all today. Thank you Dr. Musa and staff!! You're the best!

I want a vet I can rely on, and Sierra Vet is too chaotic. My dog's previous symptoms have cleared up, we were for wheezing, and if it tracheal collapse, I want her to have surgery in a clean environment. I sent all of her previous records as they requested, it's like they think I am narcotics shopping because I use Dutch for her prescriptions. He refused to speak to me. He sent a vet tech. What a jerk. They always have appointments available, so it's likely he will shut down soon because he treats people like this. I wanted a competent vet I could trust to address all her health needs, and this isn't it. Stay away.

(I tried calling over the past week and no answer). While I was at our old vet, he mentioned a blood test, so I said to do it. Sand Canyon just sent me a letter stating that we should continue over there. Apparently, the "Corporate Office" doesn't think it would be beneficial to take our dog to Sand Canyon any longer. This is such a petty little issue. Sierra Vet is where Sand Canyon sends their animals when they can't handle the issue, so we are going back to them. Corporate Office, my ass. THIS is how they do business. See ya. One Star for Sand Canyon Animal Hospital.

After being placed on multiple heart medications for 4 years , we were told there was no hope due to kidney failure. I felt completely devastated. I am so grateful that I took him to Dr. Vega at Happy Pets Veterinary. She gave us something I thought we had lost which was time. Because of her care, he didn't just survive... he truly thrived for 7 more months. Those months meant everything to me. Losing him has been incredibly painful, and I am still grieving deeply. But I will always be thankful for the compassion, effort, and expertise Dr. Vega showed us during such a difficult time. The entire staff from the front desk to the nurses are absolutely amazing. They treated both of us with kindness and genuine care every step of the way. If you're feeling hopeless about your pet's condition, please don't give up. Give them a chance with Dr. Vega. We came in for a vaccination, a prescription refill, and to have an infected cyst examined. A receptionist we had not met before insisted we had not booked the appointment to include the cyst. We had. After some back and forth, and asking whether they could accommodate us given that we were already there and had included it when booking, we were told to come back next week or go to the urgent care facility nearby instead. As I walked out, I noticed the receptionist had a smirk on her face. When we arrived at the urgent care, I understood why it was 10 AM and they didn't open until 4 PM. As a small business owner myself, I know firsthand that good help is hard to find and that loyal customers are easy to lose. Dr. Vega, we have valued your care and expertise, but being turned away and in the manner that we were turned away means we won't be returning, and unfortunately we won't be recommending the clinic to others going forward.
