I am extremely happy to have my piano turned by London Tuning Service…read more I have been taking piano lesson on and off for long time, and just started studying my dream piece, Ravel's "Scarbo" recently. It is a famous movement from Gaspard de la nuit. Scarbo is unbelievably difficult. The piece begins with three ascending notes from the lower registers of the piano. The motif consists of broken octaves. The staccato and rhythmic theme is frantic. Every key of the piano is used. Both hands have to travel up and down with an amazing speed. At the end of the piece, there is a very intense progression of chords that interrupts the broken octaves before the music abruptly trails off. I let my 20 year old grand piano being out of service for almost 5 years after numerous moves. I have been practicing Scarbo diligently, but I could not feel good about my progress no matter how I played, because the piano was so out of tune. Finally I got an appointment with Andy last weekend, and I am very delighted that he tuned my piano! Andy was able to schedule an appointment on Saturday, which was super convenient to me. He is a real pro, arriving on time, politce, and very knowledgeable about piano tuning. His fee is very reasonable. After tuning was completed, the result was quite remarkable and key actions and pedals were properly adjusted to meet my expectation. I will have him keep my piano in service as long as I live in this area.
