Maybe not the greatest place to get your guitar professionally setup. I got my jackson with a floyd setup after buying it used. Bill did a good job getting the action low but he forgot to stretch the strings out and the guitar was completely out of tune by the time I got home. For $148 and an hour long trip that was pretty inconvenient. I could've fixed it myself, but I decided to leave it with them anyways to correct it. Got a call back the next day saying it was ready, picked it up, lo and behold it was still far out of tune. I just unlocked the nut and did it myself. I'm sure it was an honest mistake, twice. unfortunately it isn't something I can pretend didn't happen. On the bright side, guitar plays good now, but if I could've gone back I would've just done it myself. Hopefully this will help someone out there save some money. read more

Their local stores seems good, but if you get caught up with the central company you get stuck. My local store in Miami closed and I can't get the violin we are renting back to the company. And they keep charging me. They are telling me they have a local subcontractor who will take the instrument, but she is refusing. Don't get caught!! read more

My parents both worked there in the late 50's They were friends of the Chapins . My mother Kay Mallon worked in the store and my stepfather taught music lessons . Barney Mallon was a great musician. Today was my first visit to Chafin Musicenter, but it won't be my last! My child attends middle school and is taking Band this year as her elective. She was told that Chafin Musicenter is the place to go for all our needs. I am so new to this so we decided to go check out the store together. We were warmly greeted by Danny and instantly he knew which instrument she would enjoy playing. Danny was so patient and kind, mostly with me and all my questions! He showed her how to put a clarinet together and all the wonderful aspects of the instrument. He patiently explained how everything works on both the instrument and their wonderful rent-to-own policies for people that want to truly work with the best instruments out there. Sue and Claire also popped over to make sure we were being helped and had awesome advice for my daughter and myself since we are first timers to the Band Life. It's so refreshing to see a family take such pride in their business and truly want to help others find their way down the musical path. One of the oldest mom and pop music stores in South Florida, Chafin Music Center offers great deals on pianos, band equipment, and string instruments both new and used. They have one of the best sheet music collections in the area. They even have a separate facility for music lessons, although I don't know how good/bad that might be. They are also good citizens in the community, helping band programs and working with the area band directors. read more

At first glance, the store seems small but once you go inside it really spacious , big enough to have several grand pianos on display, great staff. Everyone that works there is passionate and knowledgable about instruments. Even if you don't buy an instrument from them, they will give you such great service you'll eventually buy from them. Great service, friendly staff and honest. I rent my son trumpet and forgot I paid for the service agreement. Brought the trumpet in for a cleaning and was quoted $40. When I returned for pick up the young lad informed me their was no charge, he took the time to look up my account saved me the payment. He also did a great job servicing the trumpet. read more

These people are the best! I was in town from Chicago recently for my sister's memorial service and needed to rent a guitar and all sorts of sound equipment so that my daughters could sing and play at their aunt's service. Chafin's was highly recommended . These wonderful people put everything I needed together on less than a day's notice, had it waiting for me, helped me to my car, and charged me an almost insignificant amount. The staff and owner were incredibly courteous and the equipment was first rate, with duplicates of all the cords, cables, strings, etc. that we might need.
