Cesar Duenas. I had a terrible experience with Guitar Center's drum lessons for my son. Communication was poor from day one and the classes were not what was promised or expected. The worst part was billing. I paid for the first month, and then they charged me for the next month in advance without clear authorization. I went to the store and spoke with the manager, Jason, to request a refund. Despite assurances, the refund never happened. After 14 days of waiting, I had to contact my bank to dispute the charge. Between the lack of communication, disappointing lessons, and the refusal to promptly return my money, this was a horrible experience that I wouldn't want anyone else to go through. My son asked for a specific guitar that apparently was very popular and limited in availability. Their customer service found what seemed to be that last one in the USA in their W Palm Beach store. I happily placed the order asap and agreed to expidite the shipping to be sure I had it by Xmas. It turned out that while there was ONE left in North America, it was a display model. Tom called me from FL and advised that the display model did not meet their high quality standard and advised me that, if I could wait for the new shipment, a new in-the-box guitar would be coming in near NYEve and he would make sure it was expidited to me. A little disappointed that it wouldn't be under the tree but my son's birthday is in January so I was fine with the compromise. Well, it was a VERY Happy New Year in Philadephia when the guitar arrived first thing in the morning on NYEve!!! I have been a musician for most of my life and have been to countless GCs. This is hands down the worst one I have ever been too. Ignoring customers, rude, dismissive. Someday when GC closes all their stores and file for bankruptcy like Sears, Penny's, etc, it wasn't the coronavirus. Nothing in stock that is displayed. Drum department in complete disarray. Salesmen range from failed musicians that think they know better than you and down talk you or completely incompetent salesmen that don't know anything let alone know how to use a register. Terrible customer service, no information on the poor excuse of bass amps and cabinets. Went in there with a very well known national musician and was still given the cold shoulder... guess our money is not green or they pay their employees 5000$ an hour for them not to work. I have been coming to this Guitar Center since I moved to south Florida in late May. The level of service here is impeccable even when they are absolutely swamped they still take the time to really listen to you & figure out what you need & how they can best help you. The guitar tech is very good. I was having a problem with the set up on my Fender Stratocaster & he knew immediately just by looking over the guitar what the problem was. He said that he usually has guitars that are in for set ups ready by the end of the day. Everywhere else I've taken my guitars for set ups it took them a few days to set up two guitars so I was pleasantly surprised when he told me he would have both guitars ready by the end of the day. Anyone who plays Guitar, Bass, Keyboards or Drums should be shopping here they have what you need. read more

Am the 45th customer this location has. from the grand opening to today I went to Guitar Center even though my interests had me often near Sam Ash as well as other music stores. Maybe the Bankruptcy issue is the issue but this is a company that is in shambles from inventory missing parts to what seems like a failed business plan. I would believe there is a commission standard there ,since they tried to get me to pay $36.00 for a $23.00 anywhere else set of D'Addario Bass Strings. Which I Paid but a search in my car showed me my rip off and i returned to have my AMEX credited for the return. I could blame a starved forced to work on commission salesman but I brought this Price Gouge to the attention of the manager that was doing my return and was met with silence and a leave my store attitude. Best to shop elsewhere or go online as it could be the Poor management at this location. I've made the last trip to this Guitar Center read more

I don't know why I shop here, but I'm DONE! I must like to be abused. I bought a pedal here in November and used it once. We moved and I went to use it today - no luck. So I figured i would take it back. Most merchants will work with you and it was $140. So they checked it out and - it does not work. Guitar Center - out for themselves & not looking out for the customer. I was told too bad. Send it to the manufacturer. This is an example of why you do not do business with large companies. Any small music store would have replaced it. Thankfully Guitar Center won't be around long. I'm never going back. read more

It's only right, that with the same vim and vigor that I used to write my negative review, that I now write a positive one, now that I can honestly say all is well. Someone from my local store, did reach out to me. After explaining why I was an unhappy customer, the gentleman explained to me that regardless of the price of guitar, the guitar will only come set up to the "standard" way of setting up guitar. So a $500 electric guitar, might get the same set up set a $5000 guitar would. That's where I had a disconnect. We agreed to disagree but it didn't matter. In the end, they ultimately did the right thing by me which is all I really cared about. We worked out a very fair deal in order for me to bring in several guitars, and get them properly set up. He did let me know in the future if I intend to spend that kind of money to buy a certain quality kind of guitar, that it's definitely worth it that I spend the extra money, whatever it might be to have it professionally set up, or properly set up to my liking. I also have to honestly admit, one of the guitars that I claimed the electronica did not work from the time of purchase, all I can tell you is what kind of a dumb ass buys a $4k guitar, to then only buy a knock off brand 9 V battery and wonder why it wasn't working. (Me) In closing, and most important, because this is what matters most, when reading a review...the first guitar I dropped off, for the guitar tech to work on, WOW....plays better than the 56 custom shop Fender Strat I have. Shout out to Ryan, the guitar tech, thank you. I love it. Now I'm like a kid in a candy store and I can't wait to bring him the rest of my guitars. read more

I had received a guitar center gift card from a friend so I thought I would stop by for a guitar setup and strings for my acoustic. I payed for the strings but the employee at the register told me to wait after starting to put me in the system. After making sure I wasn't trying to setup a stolen guitar, he asked me if I would mind wait for a moment while he takes care of other costumers. I can understand why they would do that when there is a guy behind me that just wants some guitar picks, but I do other things I need to do. After checking out two more customers and not being helped, I spoke up and was told by the manager to go to the guitar tech so he could get me on their system in the computer. It turns out the guitar tech doesn't have a computer. After going back to the guy whom I was originally speaking to told me I would have to wait longer while he checked out new customers, I told him I was just going to take my guitar and leave. This was after about 20 minutes. I want to make this clear: I went into Guitar Center to buy strings and drop off my guitar. That's it. I also called to make sure the tech was in and that I could drop it off before I went. To top it all off on the way out I was obviously pissed off so another employee approached me as asked if I found everything I needed. I explained to him the situation and he told me "Well it's near the holidays so it's busy." I asked if I came back after Christmas if that would be better. His response: "I never said anything about Christmas. If you like go get something to eat and come back that might work." I won't be back. I'll rather drive the hour to Sam Ash or buy elsewhere. read more

Instead when I got there they gave me a load of baloney about there being something wrong with the neck (there isn't, I'm a professional guitar player) and they could not do anything for me until someone else was in tomorrow. We called this store to ask if they had acoustic guitar pickups and the person who answered the phone put me on hold to check; came back and quoted a price of 39.99. We drove about 20 minutes on the highway and when we got there, we asked for the pickup. The pickup was in a locked glass case. The employees kept us waiting for about 45 minutes for the manager to come over and walk away. She didn't say anything. We had to go to the front and find out what was going on. She told us that she did not have the combination to the lock on the case. She said she was waiting to find out. We waited again for another 20 minutes. The store was going to close and still no pickup. Finally we saw the manager and asked about the pickup. She replied that she had it. It would have been good to tell us that she had it because we were waiting for her near the case with the pickups. We finally go to the front to pay and the clerk quotes us a price that was $10 more. We told him that the tag says 39.99 in the case and we called and was told it was 39.99. He said that he would change the price after. He stood there and asked for the higher price. We said never mind. After the HORRIBLE customer service and having to wait so long; being quoted one price over the phone and seeing that price on a label in the case, they should have been more courteous and sold the item to us at the price that we were quoted. I need to add that we were very courteous and quiet. I am sure that other customers would have yelled and not handled this horrible service so well. read more

Worse professionalism and customer service I've ever experienced. I was charged full price for an item which should have been listed as a marked down item due to the obvious damage to the outside of the box not to mention the huge hole in the front of the box. I brought it to the store clerks attention and he made no attempts whatsoever to get a manager or mark the item down. And not only was I charged full price for a marked down item, but I was denied the 10% discount that's usually awarded to U.S. veterans. It's hard to believe that people who work for a company like Guitar Center can be so blatantly disrespectful and rude to a paying customer and still keep their jobs. I won't be doing business with Guitar Center anytime soon. And I'm certainly telling anyone that I know in the production business not to do any business with Guitar Center. read more

I purchased a guitar online that said was in-stock and ready for pick up today at the West Palm Beach location. Over a day goes by and I never get a confirmation e-mail to come pick it up...so I call the store and talk to a guy there...I give him my order number and he tells me that they have my order ready and I can come get it any time before 9pm. I drive over 18 miles to the store only to be told that it's not in-stock and the manager offers me a returned floor model instead that buzzed when you plugged it in. I refused, so the manager then tells me that he's going to order one and have it shipped in from another store. I get a phone call the next day from a customer service rep saying that the guitar would be available for pick up that day but was informed that this one too was a floor model "with possible imperfections but overall plays great". He said if I wanted a brand new guitar (which is what I ordered) then I'd probably have to wait another month or so before they get more in-stock. I ended up having them cancel my order, however they still have my paypal money on hold which I'm being told could take up to 5-7 days to be returned to me. This was the absolute worst buying experience I've ever had in my life and I definitely will never step foot in this store again. read more
