I just walked in to explore the different kinds of music they offer and got interested right away during the tour with Danny. He was a very much multi talented artist and was an instructor of Xaxophone, Guitar and Drums along with a few others that I can not even spell. I got intrested with the Drums and was able to get an introductory class then and there. How cool...I was able to get the basic instructions as per my desire for the drums and within 30 mins I was able to produce a pretty good drum beats which I was able to make a video that I would attach if I can ..if not will attach a pic. A nice local community music store located in Sugar Land town center. My son just recently started clarinet in his middle school band and we ended up getting his instrument from here. Needing to restock on reeds for his clarinet we swung by this afternoon to pick up a box! Nice well stocked store with attentive and friendly staff. This store serves the Fort Bend community schools by supplying instruments and accessories to band members. When selecting a place to purchase my son's clarinet I was impressed with the staff that was visiting his school the day of instrument selection. My first visit to the store's location, I liked the layout and friendly service! Not too impressed with their guitar selection though. Most of their guitars border on the low end quality wise but are OK for beginner students. Guitar Center in Stafford would be my choice if looking for a guitar but, if shopping for brass instruments, Music Arts would be my choice to go shopping! We did find my son's reeds that come in a pack of ten and I believe he's set for the year! He seems to enjoy his clarinet! Along with his piano lessons he's coming into his own musically! And he even likes to strum on my guitars on occasion. Hope that interest grows a bit more as he matures... Overall consensus: A good little music store in a nice location! Well, once again I was told half truths and lies. I guess this was the final straw, enough incompetent, uncaring and often rude employees. If that kid behind the counter is the manager then it's worse than I thought. I'll be sending my 160 students elsewhere, it's too bad because the parents of my students can afford to drop 4k on an instrument, of course now they'll be doing it elsewhere. They rip off, don't go to Sugar Land location, I pre paid for 4 class same day, 2 in June 2 in July, they charge 2 time signup fees, & they keep withdrawing $$$ from my card, They say I need to give them 2 week notice, Why should I give them notice, I am done with my 4 class, & I paid only for that, I didn't sign for month to month class. Be careful with Sugarland location, keep watching your card transactions. read more

My son plays the saxophone with his school band, and his teacher recommended parents buy a Lyre and Notebook for their students, in time for their performance with the High School band at the music for an upcoming Varsity Football Game. The music teacher attached a link to Music&Arts, so I ordered online, to be picked up at the store. I expected an email when the items arrived, but nothing (but a post transaction survey request?!) came. Two days before the performance, I called the store to see if they had arrived. They had not. The next day, I decided to go into the store and inquire. I was a bit panicked at that point, because the performance was that evening. When I arrived, I learned only half of my order had arrived. I had a notebook, but no Lyre. The sales associate went to the check again, and I had resigned to just purchase a lyre, and see about returning the one I ordered once it had arrived. 'After this', I thought, 'I will never shop here again.' The sales associate returned, and then proceeded to call other stores to help me find my missing order. She then took me to the sales floor, and asked me some questions about my son's saxophone. I was not sure of the specs, so she gave me two Lyres, to ensure he would have the right one for his instrument. She was so wonderful! She understood my urgency, but rather than tell me the bad news and send me off, she took time to understand my situation. The Lyre I ordered online was deeply discounted, and the ones in the store were 5x the price. She could have 'upsold' me, and I would have purchased out of desperation, but I would never had returned. Instead, she took time to find a solution. She apologized for the online issue, gave me 2 Lyres, (to ensure I had the right one), and Sent me on my way. No charge. I returned the Lyre I didn't need yesterday, but didn't really get a chance to tell her how awesome she was, (or get her name) so I'll sing her praises here:) 'THAAANK YOOOU!! I hope you, and your manager know whom I am praising here, and I hope you get a big raise for being so awesome!!! I will absolutely be back to Music&Arts, and highly recommend it to musicians, teachers, and especially newbie parents of musicians like myself :) Thanks so much Music&Arts! read more

(Apr. 14, 2018; 2pm) The staff here doesn't seem to care much about customer service. I stood at the counter for 10 minutes while Ms. Bandana (the girl behind the counter with the head bandana) was doing something with the register; Mr. Percussion (the other clerk with the word percussion stitch to his shirt) was busy with paperwork; and another older lady was busy straightening out an inventory of flutes. I could of waited forever, except I had a boy with special needs and he was getting fussy. So finally I asked again, can someone help ring this up. Mr. Percussion said, I'd be right with you, as he continues with his paperwork. Ms. Bandana just glared at me. Mr. Percussion was finally ready; he said, "can I have your phone number?" I said I don't want to give it out, I'm paying cash. He said I need a "profile" to enter the register. I gave him a made up number. He said that's not a real number, I gave him 3 more made up numbers. He gave up and accepted one of my phony numbers and completed my purchase of $3.50. This was not the first time I've had poor service at Music & Arts. I've rented violin for my daughter and signed up for lessons. In brief, issues every time (we have changed vendor since). I came in today because it was convenient - I just had lunch at Smashburgers). Be forewarned, if you're thinking of renting or buying anything that may need service - you'll be disappointed. read more

The staff here doesn't seem to care much about customer service. I call in a head to check on the cleaning process for my child instrument. They told use to bring it in the cleaning was included in the rental. When I got there it was a totally different story. They refuse to clean my childs instrument. read more

Great place for woodwind and orchestral questions but they were more than happy to help answer questions about my guitar as well. They will restring an instrument free of charge you just have to buy the strings and they were very sincere. Eric helped me string my violin and gave me great advice on how to tune it myself. If you are a beginning musician or an accomplished musician, you'll like Music & Arts. They have everything that is necessary for anyone from a beginning band student to a professional musician. I began playing a musical instrument as a child and my love for playing is a lasting one. Whenever I need supplies, a new music book or repair/overhaul on my instrument I come to these guys. They sell everything from woodwind to brass and strings to percussion. Whatever your instrument is they have you covered. If you are a beginning band student you can rent to buy or you can buy outright. If you an adult who is wanting to learn an instrument, these guys can hook you up with the model and type that best suits you. They sell good quality instruments and the prices are reasonable. They can even give you names of lesson instructors. While Music & Arts does do instrument repair and overhaul, the Sugar Land location does not. Fret not, because you can bring your instrument here and they will send it to the location that does do repairs. When your instrument is ready it will be sent to this location and you can pick it up. Easy. The store has an organized layout and a staff that is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Stock is plentiful and price ranges vary depending on your needs. I had ordered an instrument replacement/upgrade for my daughter months ago and until now no calls.. I called a few times and they always say as soon as they get their deliveries they will contact me. I should have signed up with the one the school recommended! Music & Arts doesn't even maintain their instruments and doesn't deliver..They only replace a single string nd you have to pay for the rest. read more
