The classes are geared toward your babies and kids- backed by research, to maximize enjoyment, fun, and learning. Sadly they shut down the Sugar Land location, but there are still classes at different sites in Houston and the Woodlands. The teachers are wonderful! My girls have taken more than 2 years' worth of classes with Kapila, so she is our favorite! We've also loved our classes with Jonathan and Ana, the owners. Why do babies and little kids need music exposure? Here is an excerpt from a parent education class taught by Ana: 84% of our population is born with medium to high music aptitude! So why is it that most grownups have trouble singing in tune and moving with accurate rhythm? It has do with exposure and experimentation during the most formative years of a child's life. Children cannot learn what they are not exposed to. Music aptitude is at its highest at BIRTH! So, we must support a child's inborn natural potential for music learning. The best way a parent can support tonal development is by singing with and to their child! Likewise, the best way parents can support rhythm development is by dancing and following the movements we do in class.

We've also been enjoying their online music classes (including some Zoom classes, which are a delight) since the pandemic began. Our daughter has been attending Prelude music classes since she was about 8 months old. She's now 3.5. Such an excellent program for families, babies, children. Getting your babies/young children immersed in music-making has so many important and beneficial effects on their development. We've attended music classes through other companies in Houston, but Prelude is the best of them. Our daughter loves teachers Kapila, Ana, and Jonathan. It's not cheap, but they do have scholarships for people who want to attend but need some financial assistance.

Let's get a few things out in the open right away: - You do not need to be a musician to enjoy this place. - You don't need to be a kid to have a birthday party here (adult party here would be awesome) - You do not need any instruments - This place's core business is lessons. I've only been here for a party, but I'm coming back for the lessons - They teach music as a 'team sport', everyone gets to be in a band as they learn. Smart. The owners are incredibly nice and everyone has a great attitude. The equipment provided works just fine for fun recording sessions. The booth is appointed well. The space is large with multiple rooms for concurrent lessons, breakouts, jam rooms ... whatever. The party itself was a blast. The kids were given a crash course in learning very basic instrumental parts for a pre-selected song (which the birthday guest selects). No musical education is required. Sounds crazy, but you don't need to be a musician to have fun here and be a part of a recording session. After the separate tracks were laid down (vocals, guitar, bass, drums, keys); the party moved to cake eating mode. During this time, the producer mixed down and mastered the track, burned to CD's, and handed each attendee a copy. It was quite an experience for the kids to listen to their professional recording in the car on the drive home. The quality of the mixdown and mastering is absolutely acceptable given the talent level of the performers and the fact it went down while people were, literally, eating cake. I liked this party for many reasons: 1) it's unique 2) it's affordable, relative to your other typical options 3) there's a learning component involved. 4) facilities were very nice 5) I brought the snacks, drinks, cake, etc. I like this better as you can control the items and budget for this aspect of the party. 6) the owners and staff are ridiculous friendly 7) the CD giveaway at the end was really special and memorable. It helped that Principrin provided a thorough packet of information and met with us individually to discuss our son's transition prior to his start date, and within a short period of time I felt very comfortable leaving him there. My son had issues with bottle refusal starting out, and they were very patient with us as we worked through it. - Staff - It's obvious that the women who work here really care about the kids. I'm fairly certain the front desk receptionist knows every child by name and 99% of the kids I've seen at pick up are in a great mood coming out. The teachers here really go above and beyond to find different activities and set up cute & creative photo shoots. - Efficiency - This is a very large facility and can be hectic since most parents drop off and pick up their kids around the same time. Generally they do an excellent job of managing the peak times and I rarely have to wait more a few minutes or so for someone to take my baby back to his classroom. Everything is geared for and designed around the children and they love it. The teachers are all wonderful and attentive and the communication is excellent. The director, Lori, always responds timely and she is so patient with all of my first time parent questions. My husband and I feel safe and comfortable dropping our baby and toddler off at 3Rs. Our children come home with knowledge to share. They are 3 and 1 and it is evident that they have learned something! They are developing independence, confidence and self awareness. For a final touch, I myself attended this school 30+ years ago. It really hasn't changed much and there is something to say about that. The Montessori philosophy works. The educators believe in it and believe in the children. I would recommend this school time and again and I'm grateful to be a part of it.
