I was moving back home and needed the help. Beth, was nothing but helpful. She not only cleaned my bracelet for me, but helped me every step of the way. She even recommended I take it to other places to get a different price! Needless to say, they gave me the best offer. So disappointed. I was absolutely rooting for this local, family-owned business, but they lacked so much communication and transparency in their customer relations, we won't be comfortable returning there again. After taking a ring that was less than 3 years old for an evaluation, we were provided with a $40-60 quote pending further review from the jeweler who would be doing the work. We heard nothing further so assumed the quote and recommended work was accurate. Upon pick-up, the price was $420 (!!!) with extensive additional work included. We paid without complaint since we genuinely wanted to trust that it was not intentional or underhanded to quote 10x less than the actual cost. Although it made me quite uncomfortable, I just figured it was a lesson learned and we would be more clear about requesting updates in the future BEFORE the work was completed. However, after an additional credit card charge was made weeks later without any signed authorization on the card they used, it re-opened my concerns about honest and transparent practices. If we had received a thorough assessment and knew they were recommending such a volume of work, we may have been completely okay moving forward. But to be charged nearly 10x a quote invalidates the quote, and best practice would have been to reach out and review the extent of the work before moving forward. Similarly, if there were issues with the billing on their end, a quick phone call to confirm they were running the card again (and to gain permission for which card) would have been appropriate. Whether or not the work done was necessary or done well, I'm honestly not sure at this point - I'm not a jeweler. But the lack of professionalism really disappointed us from the time of initial quote all the way to the unauthorized charges weeks after the fact with no communication. read more

Randy fixed my engagement ring that a previous jeweler did a horrible job on. She was very knowledgeable and showed me everything that was wrong with it. She also added my sons birthday stones to the ring as well. I now finally feel confident in wearing the ring everyday. It is very sturdy and stands up to everyday life. I stopped in Musselman's to have a consultation about having "beads" added to my wedding ring to prevent it from rolling around my finger. I'm embarrassed to say this was my first official visit here though I've lived in Bethlehem for over 23 years. I'm not a big jewelry person and I have a jeweler in the family, so... but this iconic local place is closer to me and they had recently come to mind when I found out they make the custom Bethlehem Star bridle ornaments for the mounted patrol horses! Anyway, though my giant knuckle presents unique challenges to fixing my problem, I found Randi the jeweler to be down to earth, honest and very relatable. She was frank and helpful even though on this date we couldn't solve my particular problem. She even said she would continue to think on it and took my number in case she came up with an option. She had a very unique ring on and when I commented on it she shared that she had made it - I think she might be the same gal who had her own shop over on Guetter street some years ago. I was hesitant to go here based on the mixed reviews about feeling welcomed, but I had a great experience and would happily recommend the jeweler. I agree with a previous review, I can't believe they had a bad experience at this jewelry store. My wife took her rings to get re-sized and cleaned. Randi, was highly recommended and was so helpful with explaining the entire procedure. Another jeweler was there and also checked the rings and was extremely helpful. My wife called on Thursday and spoke to Beth, to see if the rings were done. She hoped to have them after Mother's Day. On Saturday, Beth texted and called my wife and said they finished them for her. The only issue was wife was in Bucks county and the store was closing. As I'm sure she did for many customers, Beth said I will wait for you, so please drive careful and take your time. This way you will have them for Mother's Day. This is exceptional customer service. The rings were perfect and they looked just as beautiful they day they were placed on her finger. I highly recommend this local family jewelry store for the best Bethlehem has to offer...Beth and Randi, and all who took care of these cherished rings. I typically never write reviews, but I felt so strongly about my experience at Musselman Jewelers that I felt the need to share. I went into the shop to get some advice about re-sizing my engagement ring and the man who was working was extremely rude. He was flinging my ring around and told me that it was way too big (I realized it was big on me and that's why I went in to discuss re-sizing). He proceeded to look me up and down and said, "you don't look like the type of person who wears jewelry very often." After he made his recommendations (again in a rude manner), I left to go to the bookstore across the way feeling insulted. I then heard the man blatantly talking about me to his co-workers and other customers. He didn't realize that I hadn't actually left, but that I was at the bookstore, which is connected to the shop. I don't usually post reviews. In fact, this is my first YELP review ever. This business has disappointed my fiancée and me tremendously. We spoke with Tom for over THREE months about ordering our wedding bands. He never returned any of our calls. The only times we ever spoke to him was if we stopped in. He would continue to give us the runaround with every visit. He never had any answers or any solutions. Finally, after patiently waiting for THREE months, I told him we were taking our business elsewhere. His response was, "Fine by me." This was after he cut me off SEVERAL times while I was explaining my disappointment in him. Is this how a business should be run? He most definitely was taking advantage of my fiancée and me. His customer service skills are extremely lacking. He is not honest. He has made our wedding band experience horrible. You can do MUCH better than this place. If you want to be treated with respect in a pleasant environment, this is not the place to go. I will never recommend this place to anyone. If I can save at least one person the heartache and stress of dealing with Tom, I will consider this review a win! I wish I would have known. read more

We had three pieces of jewelry repaired/replaced this year at Mussleman's, a chain necklace, watch and wedding band with a diamond that needed a new home badly.
