Each time we pull into the parking lot his tail is wagging a mile a minute because he is so excited! The pricing for both day and night boarding is incredibly reasonable especially with how well taken care of I know he is. Our pup comes home exhausted, well fed, and happy! Southborough kennels does offer extra add on services like Pupsicles, baths, or bedding washes. (There are others but we've never utilized them). The ONLY complaint I have about Southborough Kennels is that they book up REALLY far in advance. Their booking system is all online and offers calendar dates several years out, so many customers just go in and book all the "Christmas Weeks" for the next five years. It makes getting a spot the hottest ticket in town! But clearly, that says something about Southborough Kennels! So I'll recommend, as long as you don't take my dates! ;)

It is by far my kennel of choice when planning to board him. Sunny is a timid boy who is overwhelmed by rambunctious dogs and can become withdrawn and shut down in unfamiliar spaces - the staff takes extra effort to provide him outside time with relaxed and calm dogs. They've sent videos of him in the yard with the others and I can see just how happy he is, running around just like he does at home. I see this as a testament to just how much he loves it at Southboro Kennels. I also like that the actual kennel spaces are separate enclosed runs with indoor and outdoor spaces, which can house one dog or a few dogs from the same pack. I feel that the dogs get more space and more freedom than at other kennels where they are confined to a single room and taken out periodically for bathroom breaks. I have referred a few other fellow dog owners here and they have all been impressed with the service at Southboro Kennels and in all cases have made this their boarding facility of choice (even traveling out from Boston to come here)! The one thing that I will say is that because Southboro Kennels is so well-loved by their clients that it can be difficult to reserve boarding for your pets , especially in the peak seasons (summer and winter holidays). I've called 2 months in advance to inquire and have been placed on a waitlist due to the kennel being fully booked, so keep this in mind when you are planning trips. and try and book out as early as you can!

We had an excellent experience with Christina. Our 3.5 year old Yorkie, Loki, was so full of…read moreanxiety that he would literally run around the house terrified for four hours straight barking and "screaming" as we called it (like the screaming goat) as late as midnight. It wasn't his fault, but we had to do something. He was taking medication recommended by our vet at the time. Christina's first visit was spent talking to us through Loki's barking and crying from his crate literally right next to us. She could see that in this state, he needed help before he needed training. She recommended we talk to our vet about a different medication, as she suspected the one he was taking was actually making his anxiety worse. She also recommended a change in his diet from store bought (high end) to homemade. We agreed to do these things and meet again in two weeks. When she came back, Loki was a different dog. He still needed training and still had anxiety, but we could now learn how to desensitize him to the things he was afraid of. (Doorbell, packages, strangers on walks, other dogs) Christina taught us the skills to train Lokie on these issues. Desensitizing will take time and commitment on our end and we are doing our best. :) We were not looking to teach our dog tricks, he does know the basics now though. We were looking for peace for Loki and our family. We are able to sit with him and take him places once again. THANK YOU CHRISTINA!!

She is reassuring to both dog and owner and has an endless list of training techniques and directions that are very easy to follow and highly effective. We have a 2 year old golden retriever who was showing increasing signs of aggression, resource guarding, and lunging at people and cars as well as other dogs. Within less than a handful of sessions we have seen a remarkable change in behavior and temperament as well as responsiveness to training. They were super patient with me! The drop off: When I met with Hilary at Beaver Brook Park, I was literally shaking and teary eyed. Lucy has been such an important part of my life, how could I hand her over to strangers?! Here's how... She let me take a photo of her license, she assured me that I would get updates daily, and basically put my mind at ease the best she could. Driving away broke my heart but I knew this would be a great experience for Lucy! ***The training: I received pictures, videos, phone calls, she always kept me in the loop!! I will admit, it was so heartwarming to see all the cool places Lucy got to explore. Any issues were shared with me and they handled it all better than i could've asked for. Nicole and Hilary-- you can just tell that they are SO loving towards animals. Especially with the pictures, Lucy would hug their arm and you could just see that she was safe, felt happy, and was having fun! ***The pickup: Lucy was ready and finished a day early, so I headed back to Beaver Brook Park! Pickup was about an hour long, they went over her two weeks, what she learned, how to continue the training.. all the do's and dont's! They were again, very patient with me. ***The results!!!!!: I cannot thank them enough. Everywhere I go with Lucy, I get so many compliments! Now that Lucy is a service dog, I've challenged her with restaurants, multiple stores, and talking to strangers in stores. She gets better and better every single day-- which impresses the heck out of me because I thought she did great the first time! Restaurants, she goes right under the table and just watches what's going on, or she'll even take a nap! My heart is just beaming!!! I am SO proud of my girl. I hated not having her home, but I can honestly say, I never imagined that she would be so well behaved and such a great service dog. We have two young Dogs. Both are great but are off the chart with energy, easily distracted and…read morehighly inconsistent in following commands. We had tried a couple of different programs, made some progress but frankly we just didn't have the time required to dedicate using traditional reward based training. The final straw was when the dogs got off leash and just bolted. We could not recall them and thought we were going to lose them. After doing some research and calling references, we made a decision to send our dogs to Giacomo at Off Leash K9 Training. Giacomo kept us updated during the entire process. The progress was amazing; they soon were following several commands: sit, down, off, leave it, come, place and heel both on an off leash and all the work fully guaranteed. There are not a lot of board and train programs around the area, fewer that offer off leash training and none I found that guarantee their work. While your dog(s) will come back markedly improved, you should expect that when you get your dog(s) back, you will need to continue to work with your dog(s). We still continue to practice and re-enforce their training and they still need work but are light years ahead of where they were. We take them pretty much everywhere we go, grocery, building supply stores, department stores and the coffee shop. Would not have thought about taking them anywhere prior to their training. Giacomo is a great guy and loves what he does. The training and the experience is worth every penny! The most challenging part was not having the dogs for two weeks.

He was reactive towards other dogs and strangers, and because of his age, I was worried he was set in his ways. Thankfully, Marina was able to build his confidence and my pup isnt as fearful or anxious on his walks anymore. I am so so grateful that with her help, Luffy's quality of life has drastically improved. He can control his impulses and is so much calmer and confident. And now that he is calmer, I am also so much calmer and the walks have been actually relaxing rather than stressful! I kept him on for the weekly hikes, and he absolutely loves hiking with his new crew. I am so shocked how we went from a dog who could only go out at dawn or at night to avoid others, now gets excited to hop into a van full of other dogs.
