If you haven't visited "Must Love Dogs" in the last half year, check 'em out. Cathy sold her business, and the new owner, along with the staff, is great. (I love that Judy, along with some of my favorites, are still on board.) Things are new and fresh. The best of the old remains: big dogs hang with bigs, littles with littles. When I voiced my concern about large dogs I saw photographed with my 20 pounder, I was reassured that these are old, peaceful dogs who are fearful being with dogs their own size. In addition, someone is always there to monitor goings on, which is imperative when dogs are uncrated. When I take Ralph to the vet, he clings on to me. When I take him to be boarded, he happily runs in. That to me is a good sign, and why "Must Love Dogs" is my go-to kennel. read more

Warning to all dog lovers!!! Do not use Must love Dogs! My dog was injured and the owner initially refused to talk to me. Once he did talk to me he refused to accept responsibility for my dogs injuries! He does not care about dogs!!!! read more

1st picture my dog was bit at Must Love Dogs, November 10th, needed stitches because another dog's tooth went through her head. Second and third pictures, April 26th, 6 mo later, my dog was attacked again at the same place! The owner assured me the 1st time that they were just playing and things got out of control because they are animals so I brought her back. Now he is blaming my dog, taking absolutely no responsibility at all, financial or even an apology!!!! The first time we had a $220 vet bill, which he refused to pay but of course gave me a credit of that amount to keep my business. Big mistake! The fact that they didn't even know it happened until hours later tells me they are extremely neglectful and basically just don't care. He actually told me this happens a lot, stitches here and there are common during open play. WOW read more

Must love Dogs is a place where your pup will have fun & make lots of cute friends. Nathan (The Owner) is very knowledgeable on dogs & puppies. Nathan also cares not just about his customers happiness but his employees happiness as well. Before Nathan bought Must love Dogs about a year ago he's completely changed the place around by cleaning it up & opening it up as well. I was just hired here just last week and from an insiders point of view that has worked at two animal hospitals prior Must love Dogs is a place I would feel very confident in leaving my two beloved pups at for DDC or Sleepover. Must love Dogs is very clean and very well put together since it became under new ownership. I have seen pictures of what it used to look like before Nathan took it over and really made the place more open, cleaner, and brighter! The staff is nice and seem to genuinely care about our baby Boomer! The owner Nathan is also kind and quite knowledgeable about puppies and dogs. Nathan runs a great dog training; a slight light-type gentle military style bootcamp training, and we absolutely appreciate his belief of training you dogs without using treats! We weren't aware it could be done without treats, but Nathan proves it can be done, and we like it so much better because we're not constantly giving our Boomer treats, setting him up to expect a treat whenever you ask him to do something or a command. Our doggies are smarter than we think sometimes, so don't feel you have to be dependent on a bunch of treats for your doggy to do what you ask! We're believers now, Of course this does not mean you can never give your dog a treat! read more

Must Love Dogs is the best doggie daycare place! My little girl dog has been going there for almost four years now. She's known the staff and other doggie regulars since she was a tiny pup and they gave all become a second family to her. There are actually about three daycare places closer to my home, but I would never consider them. I have visited them for dog food at times (MLD doesn't sell Origen, my dog's food, though now I simply order online) and I wasn't impressed. At Must Love Dogs, everything is just spectacular. The staff are wonderful people who genuinely care. They're a lot of fun too! They all love dogs and do everything possible to make sure your dog is well-cared for and having a great time. It's really great to be able to pick up your pooch and know she'll be sleepy and super low-maintenance the rest of the night and often the following day as well! My dog is very high energy, so this is a must! You won't be disappointed if you bring your dog here. Quite the opposite. It is very nice to find a place whom you trust to care for your dog the want and to know that your dog is having a blast all day! P.S. Birthday Parties: Have them do a birthday party when your dog's birthday rolls around. It's a no brainier. It only costs a few dollars for the lick-a-lot frozen yogurt treats and it's well worth it. More than the additional photos they take of your pooch and the yummy snack, your dog will be treated like a king/queen for the day, ensuring an extra good day! And, if you like, be as silly as you want and dress up your dog in a birthday outfit! read more

Before moving to this area I was close enough to family that someone could watch my dog if I needed to go out of town for a few days and couldn't take him with me. After I moved here, however, I needed a place for him to stay while I was away. I'll admit that I'm one of those people who treats their dog like a member of their family, so when it came down to finding a place to board him, not just any old kennel was going to suffice. Many of the places I looked at essentially crate the dogs all day, causing them to become stressed out and overly-hyper once you pick them up. Must Love Dogs, on the other hand, allows the dogs to play all day in their facility and outside so when it's time to come home they plop because they're so pooped! In addition to free play, when it's time to "go to bed" each dog is kept in a 5x5 room instead of in a crate. Owners are encouraged to bring blankets, beds, toys, treats, or anything else that will make their pup feel more at home. If the free play and private room weren't enough to convince me, the staff there is. They owner, Kathy, is wonderful to work with and really has the best interest of the dogs at heart (especially because she brigs her own "top dog" Maddux there to play). All of her employees are fantastic. They know me and my dog by name and always greet both of us with a smile. I trust that when I leave my dog with them, they're going to treat him like one of their own and that he's going to come home happy and tired. I would highly recommend Must Love Dogs to anyone who wants a place to leave their pup for a few hours, all day, or even for a sleepover. My dog loves it there, and I hope yours will too! read more

Follow up response : Nathan, My dogs went to Must Love Dogs for quite a long time prior to your new ownership and never had 1 problem or complaint! They were greeted each time with excitement from the previous staff and management. We have found a new place for them to play and have never had 1 complaint or problem with at the new place. My dogs go on vacation, to dog parks and have raised 4 of my grandchildren without ever any sign of aggressive behavior. So hmmm, where does the problem really exist???? read more

I'm sorry to report that the new ownership and staff is nothing like it was before. The young people that were hired are not experienced enough and they panic at the slightest behavior issues. The owner has not carried on the true meaning of Must Love Dogs. Under the previous owner and staff, my dogs were sooo happy to spend time there. My husband and I felt like it was the best place for them to be. Unfortunately that is not the case anymore and we will never return. read more

I can't say enough about Kathy Baker and her staff at Must Love Dogs. Our 2 dogs have gone there once a week for day care and periodically for sleepovers for almost 2 years and they are wonderful. The dogs are so excited to get there and often don't want to leave. They helped bring one of our rescues out of her shell and she is now wide-open and ready to play when she gets there. They have made friends with several dogs that they are so excited to see when they are there. The people really care about dogs and it shows! They also offer training classes, which I am taking advantage of, grooming, boarding & boarding. They have events such as photo shoots with an excellent pet photographer, discount veterinary services, pet food & supplies. They also support one of my favorite charities, the Homeless Pets Foundation. I would not hesitate to recommend Must Love Dogs to anyone with a dog! read more

Consistent and Loving Care...in recent times we have not been as active with MUST LOVE DOGS...but the wonderful thing is that they remember us. Would not recommend this place for puppies. My 4 month old pup was bitten in several places which resulted in sedation, and three different prescriptions..and over $800 in vet bills. I was not called when the incident happened but they cleaned it up themselves and failed to give me the option to come and get my dog. The wounds were in more places then they told me and tried to downplay the bites. When the owner called, she had the nerve to accuse me of overacting and blatantly said since I don't have kids, I would be more concerned than someone with kids. Please do your research when taking your dog to these places... The entire incident was not even seen by the caretakers. read more

The first time I stopped in here, to check the place out and get prices, I left feeling confident that my dogs would be in capable hands here. Sadly, one person can ruin everything, and I left today with the gut feeling that my dogs would not be in good hands at MLD. I forgot to bring the vaccine records, but rather than just straight up say "we cannot clip her nails without the vac record," I got the run-around of the three girls asking each other the same questions they had answered for me a month ago: "do we do that?" "Can she just get her nails clipped?" "Will 'she' do it without the records?" Etc., etc., The blonde girl took many long, loud pauses while answering, as she was leaning backwards and acting very uncomfortably odd, making me feel as if she really didn't have a clue as to what I was even asking ("can I get my dogs nails clipped right now?") I did not get to meet the person who would have been doing the actual job; she's possibly quite well versed in company policy and practice, but I will never know. I left feeling quite uncomfortable and quickly decided to take my dog elsewhere. read more

I have been bringing my foster dog Teddie here for daycare for a couple of months now. She has tons of energy and plays hard. Teddie LOVES her time here and the staff all would love to take Teddie home with them. They love and care for her. She has learned improved socialization skills, plays more nicely with others now and gives herself time outs at home as well. I also boarded Teddie here for a little over a week and I don't think she wanted to leave when I picked her up! I highly recommend Must Love Dogs for dogs like Teddie and will probably be enrolling one of my own permanent dogs as I have observed a huge positive effect on Teddie in going to daycare at Must Love Dogs read more

Before I found Must Love Dogs, Mister was a very dominant personality..He has become a much better dog at home and out for walks. The interaction he gets there is wonderful.. He has finally stopped the humping of other dogs. The staff are very sweet and Mister really loves going there. The place is very nice and clean as well. read more
