Brenda and team are nothing short of amazing. Their warm and loving approach to their jobs is noteworthy and commendable. I took our lab for a couple of days of day care while we were visiting in the area. Brenda responded promptly to my initial email and welcomed Clover with genuine enthusiasm. This is Rocky, our Boston Terrier's, FAVORITE place to go! Brenda is so sweet and he just loves her! We board him there as well. He is a little stinky sometimes when we pick him up, so we know he plays hard! This gives us a break at night too, because he is all tuckered out that night and even sometimes the next morning! They are great there and so flexible. They have come to our rescue many times in being able to accomodate last minute reservations for boarding. So happy Rocky has so many friends there! read more

Not terribly clean and very little supervision of the pups, at least according to the webcams.

I called to schedule a temperament test for my dog as we were looking for a new daycare/boarding facility. I called and received information from the lady at the front desk. She instructed me on everything I needed to do to bring in my dog. I get there on our scheduled date, fill out all paperwork, bring in my dog and another employee says they can't take him because he's not neutered. I'm totally fine with the rules but this should have been explained before I wasted my time to take off work to bring him. This location needs better communication and they need to lay out the rules before hand. My real frustration is with the girl at the front desk (she's the one that answers the phone). Why did you not explain that to me?!?! She had a straight face when the other lady said what she said because she knew she didn't do her job. Very disappointed. read more

We did not want to board our dog back home in Charlotte, NC, but wanted a place for him to play while we went to a family's 70th birthday party. I e-mailed Bark & Lounge, never heard back, tried calling multiple times on one day and could never get an answer, and finally on my third day of trying communication, I was able to get on the phone. Luckily Bark & Lounge Smyrna, delivered and was willing to take our guy for the couple hours of playing. The reason why I have to give this place 3 stars, other than the bad communication at first, is that this place just does not compare to Rocky's daycare back home. This place does have a nice large area inside and outside, but it is the other things. Rocky's daycare back home has couches, chairs, cots, and toys in the indoor area, and then the outdoor area is truly an outdoor back yard with toys, different play gyms to jump all over, etc. So he has a lot to play with, a lot to dig, and a lot to relax on. While the videos are great to watch your dog, at this place I felt bad for him, all I saw him doing was just walking around or going up to a worker wagging his tail, but getting no attention and eventually pawing at the door (broke my heart, he wanted to go!). Back home, he gets tons of attention from the girls and never wants to go when I or my husband are there to pick him up. This was a great place for us to use in need, and we probably would use it again if we had to when we are back in town, but you can tell our boy is just spoiled rotten at our local daycare! read more

Criquette loves the Smyrna Bark & Lounge! She comes home every day that I take her and flops down in her bed and does not get back up the whole night, which lets me get a lot of work done. The staff is friendly and very communicative and they never mind me being an obsessive dog owner that calls to ask about her during the day. My dog absolutely loves it here. After about 3 days of not coming he will bark and howl at the door and typically that's his way of letting me know it's time for a daycare day. We have been bringing our fur baby here for about 2 years and we have never had a bad experience. Brenda is the sweetest and our dog gets so excited every time we bring him in. We use their day care, boarding and grooming services and we have been very happy with everything. We've always driven past Bark and Lounge and I am so glad we gave them a chance! Seeing how much my Yorkichi absolutely LOVES coming here makes me realize how much he did not like his previous daycares. He is a toy breed, so we struggled to find a place where he feels completely comfortable and we finally have (small and big dogs are separated). There are daycares that claim they have cameras but do not commit to keeping them on- at Bark and Lounge the cameras are on 24/7 which is such a relief! Brenda is absolutely lovely and truly cares for each and every dog, and you can tell that THEY LOVE HER just as much! She literally knows them by name. My puppy does not even look back when I drop him off LOL . We love Bark and Lounge! read more

This place is beyond amazing! Not only do I highly recommend it but it is the best place to board your for babies ever. I have a 13 year old lab mix Who has boarded at at least eight different places in Atlanta over the past seven years. Every single place he boarded he acted scared and would not eat. Not only will he eat at Bark And lounge but he loves his time there. Every single caregiver is kind and compassionate towards my fur babies.They do an excellent job of taking care of dogs who may be uncomfortable or have separation anxiety. We have brought our dogs here for as long as we have had them. We recently moved to the other side of the city, and will still be driving back to Smyrna to board our dogs because the staff is simply amazing. You can tell that the staff spend a lot of time getting to know your animal, and that they truly care. When we moved, they were genuinely bummed that they wouldn't see Zina anymore. Choosing a dog daycare is a major decision! You don't want to take your pup some place where he's going to develop new fears, social issues or be treated bad. My biggest reason for chosing Smyrna Bark and Lounge was that I could watch my dog on camera and see what's going on. Charlie's been going here for a few weeks now as we're trying to get him ready for a big trip where he's going to stay for over a week. I have to say, I've been very pleased. The people are extremely friendly and nice. They also clean up messes quickly and the place is very clean. They are so patient when Charlie's sticking his nose in everything food related. At first Charlie was apprehensive but the last time I dropped him off he ran to the back excited to see his buddies. I did have a concern of an incident I saw on camera and management took my concerns very seriously and followed up on the situation and reported back to me. Their explanation of the events fit my dog's personality to a 'T' and I felt completely satisfied with the staff's decision. Their professionalism and sincerity in handling this matter earned them 5 stars. I think they're stuck with Charlie for some time! Thank you guys! read more

They are very nice and I take my dog for boarding about once a month. They have a webcam that allows you to see your pets on your iphone. Someone sits with all of the dogs and gives them love. They have large dog kennels for sleeping. During they day they go between an indoor area and outside. The smaller dogs have a room they stay in together with little raised beds. When I first moved into my apartment nine months ago, I encountered a problem I had never had before - I was issued a noise complaint. We love bark and lounge! We have a labradoodle and he loses his mind anytime he realizes where we're going. Unlike some daycares, they don't require a reservation so you can always make a last minute drop off if you need to. If you buy a package of 20 days it's only $325-- that's $16.25 per day and they can stay 12.5 hours per day. Seriously can't beat that! read more

I am writing a follow up post about my experience at the Smyrna Bark and Lounge. I continue to LOVE this place and their staff. I take my dog there weekly for day care so he can play with other dogs and interact with other people. When I tell him we are going to see his "friends" he gets right into the car. The staff know my dog and are always friendly and professional towards me. I look in on him from time to time on the web cams but know that he is in good hands. The staff are attentive and give the dogs attention. They keep an eye on any rough play and are prompt on keeping play areas clean. I always get an exhausted and happy pup afterwards. They still get 5 stars from us! read more

First, my pup, Tolstoy, went to one day of doggie daycare. When he got home, he sat by the door for a full 24 hours after that, crying to go back. Next, I boarded him there for 6 days over Christmas. I watched him on the doggie cams constantly and he was SO loved and happy. I missed him but had no regrets in choosing Bark & Lounge as his caretakers. They even fed him my special homemade food (he is very spoiled). Then, today, I took him in for a mini-groom. The groomer was AMAZING and so attentive. She knows dogs and really took care of him. He is So handsome. After his groom, he stayed for a few hours to play with his friends. And, before I picked him up, the sitters even brushed him out all over again so he would be all awesome for me. I LOVE this place and these people. I can't believe how lucky I am to have found them and how happy my pup is to go there. He almost killed me trying to race into the door today when we arrived. That says a lot. You will not regret bringing your dog here...for the day, for a week, for grooming... your dog will love it, and so will you. read more

I am very disappointed in this business. They will not honor a Living Social deal that they offered. I understand that the offer was from a while back, but I never received a phone call or notice from Smyrna Bark and Lounge stating that they had an available appointment to groom my two dogs after I contacted them repeatedly. It is not my fault that they offered a service through Living Social and then did not have the available staff to follow through appropriately. (I was told they had only one groomer and she was overbooked.) I just spoke with someone who refused to offer me anything other than $40 to cover the $180 that I paid for the deal. I understand the promotional value expires, but according to Living Social, the paid value ($45 each) should be honored through 11/30/17. To me, this is such poor customer service. Please be aware of this before you utilize them for anything. In response to your response: That is your view of the situation and you are entitled to it, just as I am entitled to mine. You would be incorrect to say that I did not call repeatedly, because not only did I call, but my mother did as well and she had the same things to say about the service. You also made her feel like it was her fault for the fact that you didn't have the adequate staff to book the customers as necessary. I understand that you never had two groomers at the Smyrna location and that isn't the issue. The issue is that you clearly did not want my business and you clearly don't want the business of my friends and family that live in the area. And regarding the issue of you not calling me back, I do not think that I should have to constantly call back and ask for an update on your calendar when you said YOU would call me and let me know when your groomer was available. There are plenty of other groomers/daycare facilities in the area and I will gladly take my business elsewhere. As will my other family members and friends that are near by. Lastly, regarding the price, to me, it doesn't really matter what I paid because you are not willing to honor the paid value as living social says specifically on the voucher. To give me $40 when I paid $90 is still not acceptable to me. read more
