All day long all you heard was the door being slammed over & over. It was so bad the wall would shake. Not something you wanna hear all the time after you worked a 12 hours shift. Room looked clean but floors seemed like they hadn't been mopped in forever. Also they need to upgrade there mini fride ASAP!!!! Now the worst part in the room was the metal based beds. Every time you moved the bed squeaked or made a really loud banging sound!!! Needles to say we didn't get much sleep. The room was a nice size but they have the beds place way to close to the bathroom area. Also the TV sucks, it had like 10 channels. Key point the motel is located on a hill and has a really crazy uneven lay out. If you're disabled that would be a problem.

I like a thicker pillow to support my head, and these just were not cutting it. Really, the hotel is not a bad place. It's a bit old and run-down, but it is clean and usable. Food in the local area seems to be nothing but Tex-Mex, and you are going to have to drive a ways (and deal with the horrendous traffic lights of Tyler) to find any sort of variety.

When will hotels stop saying "gym" and start calling it a exercise room. Because gyms have cables, free weights, maybe a machine or two. This one had a bench, some free weights, and treadmills. Not a gym. Everyone is polite, love my room and will continue to stay here because it's what I want in a hotel. Minus the gym.

I was shocked to learn there are not ONE but TWO Fairfield Inn locations in Tyler. This one is in a tight cluster surrounded by a Residence Inn by Marriott and a Courtyard by Marriott. It's one of the newer designs, only about a year old. Of course, I was going to be the difficult customer. I needed an early check-in so I could get redressed for the wedding. I called the night before and made arrangements. The hotel encouraged me to call along the route as a reminder. I gave them my ETA, and my room was ready upon arrival. I arrived with about 90 minutes to spare before having to leave for the wedding, so I barely had time to unload and change. I was totally wowed by the room. I've stayed at Fairfield locations in the past in Austin and Houston, and they have always screamed basic. This one had a totally different personality. It was like luxury on a budget. Huge TV 65" screen almost too big for the viewing distance to the king bed with four full sized and one half-sized pillow. Extensive use of chrome, glass, and granite in the chic little bathroom. I wanted to take their shower stall home--it was like something right out of a plumbing showroom--and equally well-maintained. The bed was on the lower quality end and not quite up to Marriott standards, but I got a good night's rest anyway. Closet space would be tight for a couple staying more than a night or two. Coffeemaker, microwave, and refrigerator (no freezer) were neatly tucked in a cubby between the bedroom and bathroom. The best part of the stay came the next morning with their free breakfast. Several fruit options, including fresh bananas, grapes, and oranges. Flip-over waffle maker with original and blueberry mix options (not the iffy pancake machine at IHG motels that often fails to deliver). Turkey sausage, Canadian bacon, and scrambled eggs, along with a wide variety of cereals were also available. Everything that should be hot was, and very tasty. It was staffed by a lovely lady who really cared. I went out of my way to praise her personally, and in front of her manager. She was just a superstar! If you need to stay in the Tyler area, this location can't be beat for convenience to restaurants, shopping, and Lake Palestine. It is slightly more expensive than the older Fairfield Inn in town, but I have a feeling it's totally worth it. After a disappointing stay at the Westin Riverwalk (also a Marriott brand) a few days earlier, Marriott knocked it out of the park with their budget brand at this location. Totally recommended.

The park is conveniently located near Tyler Regional Airport. My favorite features of the park is they allow pets. We love our dog Nova, she is part of our family life. If you are into star gazing, I was able to sit on my patio to watch the most recent meteorite shower which was the Perseid meteor shower. If you are wondering about cellular service, we have great cell phone service and the park provides wifi service making movie nights wonderful or chatting up with friends and family. Our son Taven, who has ABS to his left arm, was asleep on daddy's shoulder. We were stopped on our way out because the owner noticed our son. She then went on to tell us that they do not allow children under the age of 13. Apparently, we missed that policy on their page. She said she had nothing for him to sleep on and I said we have his pack n play. She then says she doesn't have highchairs, and I said we have his highchair. She asked if we read her list of policies and my husband said he must have missed that. She kept going on about not having anything for babies and again I said we have all of that. She checked her reservation list and saw that it showed we had a 1-year-old with us. She then tells us she wished we had called her to notify her of this. 1. Your site at booking allowed us to reserve it. 2. You are the one who reviews all reservations so you should have noticed the issue upfront and called us. My husband then said we can process a refund right now and go elsewhere. She said no we can try this. She just didn't want to bother the other people in the house. I said he is teething right now, and he will just sleep a lot. Her response was, "Oh because you have him drugged"? I said oh "Um no, I just give him Ibuprofen to help with the pain. This is just what he does when he doesn't feel well". And this is where I had no idea what to do. She then reached out and grabbed my son's left arm and said oh he's missing an appendage. I calmly (no idea why or how) said yes, he was born that way. I had ABS. She said she never heard of that before and so I explained it. She then stared at all of us and said Well congratulations, I guess. At that point she let us leave and we found another place to stay. I have never had another person reach out and touch my son and comment on how his hand is missing. I was so uncomfortable and upset I had no idea what to say or do. No person or child should ever be touched by a stranger and have their Lucky Fin pointed out like something horrible happened. We ended up being charged $50 as a deposit. My husband called the Manor (because we were told we would be refunded) to talk with the owner and she said it's non-refundable. He asked "Even though you were in the wrong as well"? and she said yes. She was very rude and disrespectful to my husband and hung up on him. I DO NOT recommend staying at this place.

It had a bbq, picnic table, and hookups. Even though we did rooftop camping it was convenient to have creature comfort's around us . The restrooms were sparkly clean, safe and well lit. The grounds were maintained properly and all the Folks at the park were super friendly. Thank you Texas Rv for taking care of us .
