We got to the park when it opened at 9am Sunday morning and managed to snag some tickets for the 12:15 self guided tour. In the intervening hours I ran 10 miles in a slow drizzle on a path that was crushed gravel following along the same stretch of road that we took to enter the park. When it was our turn we were called by the over head PA to meet at Shelter for a short talk by the ranger before descending to the cave 200 ft below. A walk way takes you to the mouth of the entrance. We were able to walk a total of 2 miles in the tunnels which had an average temperature in the 50s. Wear a sweater or jacket before you go. The cave system is the longest in the world and we definitely could have kept going but were turned around at 3/4 of a mile into it. The caves possessed an artifact as old as 5000 years but the network of caves had inhabitants for much older. We got our National Park Pass stamped and also enjoyed exploring the gift shop and museum at the visitor center. The park has a great network of trails and camping and a lodge / hotel. We finished up at around 2pm and after about 5 hours in the park. It was a pristine day in the park with so much more to see, so we look forward to the next time.

We rented one canoe (which came with oars and lifejackets), were led to the endpoint (we chose Houchins Ferry) to park our car, and were then driven with the canoe to our starting point (Dennison Ferry). We canoed around 12 miles of the Green River the first day, camped on Boardcut Island, and then finished the 20-mile trip the following morning. All we had to do at Houchins was leave the canoe, oars, and lifejackets out and make a phone call to Cave Country...so convenient! Best thing about working with Cave Country was their friendly service. They even went so far as to give us a s'mores fixings care package (complete with firestarters, graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate)! We also had some great conversation with their employees, both exchanging stories and getting some great advice for canoeing on the river. I would highly recommend going with Cave Country Canoe if you're thinking of making a trip to Mammoth Cave or the Green River.

We were shuttled to the drop site and picked up quickly when we were done. The prices were competitive and the service was top notch. We didn't get s'mores like the other reviewer, but we also didn't book a 2 day trip. Just FYI, the National Park Service prohibits consumption or possession of alcohol on the Green River. Fines can be in excess of $500 per adult in the boat. Also, they require that you wear life jackets, not just have them in the boat. Fines are also assessed per person not wearing one. Rangers will tour the river and ticket you for not following the rules. Safety first, Yelpers!

We arrived at 11: 58 expecting to be boarded for noon departure and enjoy a special day with the family. Instead we were greeted with rudeness. We were told we were at the wrong address. That we were late and we passed the boarding area. There was no indication in the confirmation email and speaking with the representative 3 times did not confirm address. We feel conned out of our money and after driving quite a distance to get there we were very upset. This place totally ruined our day!! Would not recommend anyone to go there as where we were told to go actually was a gift shop. You can figure that one out for yourselves

We were finally able to book a lunch cruise for August 9th. We had 2 elderly adults with disabilities and called, while on our way there, to let you know that we were running a little late. We were told we would need to be there by 12 pm in order to go. NEVER ONCE WERE WE TOLD TO GO SOMEWHERE OTHER THAN THE ADDRESS ORIGINALLY GIVEN: 2001 Hwy 90 Corbin, KY 40701. No, we are not from here, are not used to driving in the mountains, and we had our two family members with disabilities, so it took longer than expected. However, we still arrived at 11:58 am. One of the women at the counter was absolutely rude, wouldn't even look at us. The other one was nicer. We were told when we made the reservations to go to the address: 2001 Hwy 90 Corbin, KY 40701 and that is where we went. However, when we arrived, we were told that we were 20 mins away from where we needed to be. WE HAD PASSED THE AREA on our way to 2001 HWY 90. The one woman then stated that there was a link on a confirmation email that would have taken us to the right place. When we click on the links, one link is to confirm the reservation and that has the address as 2001 HWY 90, the other link shows us going from 2001 HWY 90 and then to the boat, which led us to believe that we had to go there and check in first. It wasn't stated anywhere in the email, or on the phone, that the gift store and the place to catch the boat were two different locations. This not only destroyed our plans to celebrate our mother, our entire day was planned around the river boat, zip lining, rafting and spending an entire day having a great time. And not to forget the $288 we paid for an absolute disappointment! and we're told there would be no refund!

It's a ~24 mile, 2 day, overnight canoe trip. The first day there's a great waterfall which I highly recommend stopping at and playing in. The halfway point of the trip has a large sandbar/island which is perfect for camping on. There's not a whole lot of other options along the route to camp so you'll want to make sure you don't pass it. It's right after the only Bridge (other than the 1 right at the end) so it's not hard to spot. The island is all rocks so make sure you bring a sleeping pad or you'll be sleeping on a bed of rocks!. The benefit of it being all rock is that we felt confident in building a huge bonfire that night. There was plenty of driftwood and we gathered it all up and had a fire going that burned about 4 feet tall to cook hotdogs and smores on! We chose this outfitter because it was the cheapest of the 3 we found in the area but I'm having a hard time imagining the other outfitters being as great as this. If I went back I'd definitely go to this place even if it were the same price or a little more than the competition.
