Stopped for lunch today passing through Lawton . Very friendly casual atmosphere and service. They serve a marinated salad that I had never eaten . It was very good. I had the jager schnitzel with German potato salad . Wife had the nature schnitzel with red cabbage and we were both pleased . We decided we would try the sampler sausage platter next . We travel through here often and will stop again. read more

First, let's get this out of the way ---- it's not fast food delivered to you within minutes of ordering. If you want fast, there are plenty of options in Lawton. Good things are worth waiting for...good food is no exception. If you want good German food (read: good tasting food), then Mutti's has that in spades. The deserts are amazing too, but good luck saving room in your belly after eating the delicious main course and plenty of pomme fritez or spaetzle. read more

We were told to come here for the schnitzel and authentic German beer and ambiance. You walk in and feel like you're transported to as close to Germany as Lawton Oklahoma can allow you to be. We sat down at a table and had to have it wiped down (they were pretty busy so we didn't mind). The bust boy took our drink order and that was the last time we had service for 35 minutes. Then another server came over, brought us a bread basket, and took our order, she was very curt (probably because they were busy) and then that was the last time we had anyone come check on us for 75 minutes. We all got a schnitzel plate, heavily fried and covered in gravy. Not a bad plate. The meat was hot but our sides were cold. The bread was hard and also not fresh. It wasn't until we were about to leave that the owner (who was very sweet and very busy) started waiting on us and asking if we were okay and got our table wrapped up. Total cost for the night of 2 dinners, 3 beers, and a slice of lemon cake was 65 dollars. No part of the experience warranted that price. The service was the nail in the coffin, not the price. We traveled to Ft Sill for a graduation. Looking for something to eat we found this gem. Authentic! Amazing service! Amazing ambiance! We tried some of the platters along with a few other dishes...to include the delectable desserts...between 8 of us we did not have a single complaint. Would definitely highly recommend!!! read more

First time visiting Muttis. Super happy we stopped by! We were greeted right as we came in and seated right away. Once we ordered, our food was out in about 5-8 minutes, super fast! The schnitzel was crunchy and the gravy had a good flavor however the dessert was the best part! We had the apple strudel with ice cream and I would come back just for it. If you don't like German food, at least stop in for the desserts. You won't be disappointed! read more

Most of us have had, at least a slight introduction to German food. I mean, who hasn't had a bratwurst or, "brat"? While I've never been to Germany, I am familiar with European fare. Our party of 4 arrived about an hour before closing which may have had an effect on our experience. We ordered the Grill Teller Sampler. The sauerkraut was good and that was it. All of the meat selections were tough and dry and lacking in flavor or nuance (with exception of the leberkaese which at least wasn't dry). This was a meal I could have prepared with better results...and I'm no chef. read more

They have absolutely amazing schnitzel and bratwursts! Come to Muttis and you will not be disappointed. We had fabulous service. We did have to wait a while for food, but were warned of this issue upon ordering, so we had no problem waiting. They gave complimentary bread, and salad. The schnitzel we ordered had brown gravy with mushrooms, and an egg on top that was cooked to perfection. The bratwurst was great as well! read more

Very authentic food (schnitzel options reminded me of places in Hesse where I was stationed 24 years ago), super nice staff, fast and reasonably priced! Hot German potatoe salad is the way to go! Cordon blue is great too with a squeeze of lemon. Desserts? Out of this world. Never had anything i didn't like at this place. My family and I traveled to Lawton, Oklahoma for a very special occasion, my niece's Army Boot Camp graduation. After the ceremony we decided to try something new. My niece's ROTC Sargent traveled from New Orleans to attend her graduation and since he is German, we decided to honor him by dining at a German restaurant. We Googled and found Mutti's which had really positive reviews so we decided to check it out. Let me tell you! We had such a good time because we bring joy wherever we go and our joy was reciprocated by the wonderful woman whom I assume is the owner. If she is not the owner, she handled everything like a BOSS!!! She was professional and on her grind but her customer service skills was at 1,000 and she was friendly, hilarious, lovable, and I could go on and on. She even gave me hope about dating and marriage after I decided to never date again. The beauty in this is that she had no idea how our conversation encouraged me. If I'm ever in the Lawton area again, I will definitely visit Mutti's to eat some good food, tasty dessert, and have a good conversation with that sweet woman whose name I failed to write down so sorry. I may have forgotten her name but she received a really nice and well deserved tip :-) read more

Friendly place, good service, but the food was uninspired at best, and disappointing. After reading the review, I was expecting so much more, we ordered the Grill Sampler, and you couldn't see any sign of anything being grilled. The schnitzel was thin, deep fried, and I couldn't cut through it with my knife. The sausages were ok, but definitely needed the mustard. I loved the fried potatoes and red cabbage, not so much the potato salad or salad. The salad was very different, With lettuce in the bottom of a cereal bowel topped with pickled cucumber and green beans, there was so much liquid in the bottom of the bowl. This is hands down my favorite place now in Lawton. This was a perfect place for my family and I to enjoy a lovely lunch and the child friendly environment was absolutely perfect. I will start off by the exterior is not much to look at. However, once you come inside the restaurant is very homely and cozy. There are different types of tables and chairs so it's easy to find yourself a table that you will be comfortable at. We sat at the table behind the restroom, that had the arm rests. I came with my mini entourage of myself and my 7 and 2 year olds. The table was perfect since my son could reach any of the items on the table to mess with and the stairs were great for my lower back problems. (Seems odd but you have no idea how fantastic it was to be comfortable for once). We sat ourselves and the waitress, KIM, was very attentive and asked questions. We ordered our drinks (tea, lemonade, Sprite) and looked over the very simple menu. My son ordered the kids German Frankfurter with fries, my daughter ordered the Kids Schnitzel Dinner with house fries. I decided, since it was my first time here, to order the Grill Teller Sampler Plate. Very quickly (no more than 5 minutes later) Kim brought us a basket of Bread with butter and my side salad (lettuce, cucumber, green beans and one tomato drenched in a very delicious infused vinegar). Then about (8-10) after that our meal was brought out. My Sampler plate was hot and ready to eat, my kids plates were fresh yet not very hot. Now this sounds odd but I was very happy that this was the case. This told me my kids meals were prepared before mine and let to slightly cool so when my food was ready we could all actually eat together. I wasn't there blowing my kids food to cool off so we could eat. My son's food was cooked to perfection, and he was so happy with his plate. My daughter absolutely loved her food and the house fries were her favorite since they had little bits of bacon hidden in the potatoes. My plate was huge, lots of food, but perfect for trying all the items this restaurant offered on its menu. There was nothing here I didn't like. It was all very tasty, perfectly seasoned and felt like a home cooked meal. Nothing was greasy, nothing was unappealing here. We had to walk to the register to pay out our tab and that was very simple. They have a nice dessert display so you can see all their delicious desserts available for that day. I wish I would have gotten a Cheesecake slice but I was pretty full. All in all, I will absolutely be back and tell everyone of this place. It was a fantastic lunch and I was not disappointed and neither will you. read more
